NOTE! Booking for 2017 with a Three (3) Month MINIMUM: January 6 - March 31, 2017. (Occupancy is limited to two adults, with only occasional overnight visitors please.) This spectacularly-located condo has a wonderful view - all the way down the Beach to the Naples Pier. The condo also overlooks The Moorings Private Park next door. Our apartment appears to be the ONLY ONE immediately ON the beach- not on an upper floor but situated ON the beach, with a few steps down to the lawn, beach, and the Club's excellent heated lap-pool. This tastefully decorated non-smoking apartment includes antiques, oriental rugs, and hardwood floors. A charming small balcony lends itself to morning coffee or taking in a sunset. Sitting in the mirrored living room, surrounded by windows looking out onto the Gulf, gives the feeling of being on a cruise ship! (Sq.F. 1284)
Located in the exclusive Royal Palm Club on Gulf Shore Boulevard, this truly lovely, but small, apartment has been completely renovated with the afore-mentioned hardwood floors throughout; an electric 'fireplace' for those brisk evenings; granite counters in the gourmet kitchen and bathrooms; walk-in shower and bidet in the master bath; small walk-in closet off the Master Bedroom (storage space is miniscule!); 'announcing' answering phones, and Wireless hookup for your computer with an Canon printer for your use. A weekly cleaning 'genie' (named Rosa Tejeda) is included in your rental, as well as: linens, all cooking utensils, books, videos, DVD/VCR, Cable TV, assigned covered parking spot, beach chairs, beach towels, fishing rods, 2 pair of roller-blades, and a new bike available for your use. Juan Munoz, our most helpful building manager is on site Monday-Friday, from 7am-3pm. The apartment complex has restricted, secure entrance.
Should you choose to forgo cooking, 3 doors down from The Royal Palm Club is The Edgewater Beach Hotel ($380-$700, - now affiliated with the Waldorf Astoria) has opened its dining room to the public for breakfast, lunch by the pool, or dinner. Or if you'd really like to splurge - a temporary social membership to The Moorings Golf Club nearby, with its reknowned chef - allows you to dine there as well as attend the regularly scheduled dances in Season.
If fishing is your passion the rocky jetty, extending out into the Gulf just adjacent to the apartment, is a convenient and fruitful place to fish. However, if you mosey on down to The Naples Pier, no fishing licenses are required, because the City of Naples maintains one for visitors who fish from the Pier.
Our apartment is several blocks north of landmark Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club, (est. 1930), with its' tennis courts, golf course, Fitness and Spa Center, as well as excellent restaurants including HB's - one of the few restaurants in Naples located on the beach- and where you can rent sailboats, wind-surfers, surfboards, kayaks, and jet-skis (instructions available should you want to tune up your skills).
Although we do not rent to families with children, if you would like to be able to have friends with children down to visit, The Beach Hotel and Golf Club is a perfect place for kids. Another option for families with children is the Best Western just off Mooring Line Drive and #41. The Moorings Private Park next door to the Club is a perfect place to picnic with visiting children: there are sculptures to climb on, Tiki Huts for shade, and of course a wonderful Private Beach. Also close by is Naples Zoo. And if you happen to be awake at 3AM, and the wind is right, you might even hear the lions' roar/cough!
Farther down Gulf Shore Boulevard, on Fifth Avenue are many shops and galleries, and excellent restaurants, as well as the popular Sugden Theater. In Olde Naples, on down 3rd Street to Broad Avenue, are a collection of wonderful clothing stores including The Beachhouse for bathing suits, and Marissa Collections, a world-famous fashion house featuring top designers, such as Valentino, Michael Kors, Donna Karan, Lanvin, etc.
For nature lovers: Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, 30 miles N. on #41 and across on Immokolee Road, is a splendid bird and reptile santuary, maintained by The National Audobon Society. With a boardwalk stretching 2+ miles out over the swamp, one can observe storks nesting in season, as well as many herons and other birds, and lots of alligators. The Everglades offer a more adventuresome trip by airboat, or pontoon boat, but the best way to see it is by canoe or kayak. There are many places to rent boats, with or without a guide.

Kirk, a retired professor, who is interested in the political thought of Theodore Roosevelt, is, thankfully, finally retired from 12 years of being Mayor of Gambier, OH; Elizabeth is a practicing psychotherapist in Mt. Vernon, OH. We both plan to be busy at our various occupations for the next few years, and so will be renting the apartment in February - March, in season; and April-November on a more "annual" basis.

We had inherited an apartment at Mansion House, where we have gone for 35 years. It is a wonderful place, but the aging knees needed an elevator. Hence, wanting to stay near by, we found this prize property only a few blocks north - still in an exclusive part of the Moorings, and practicaly IN the Gulf!
The sense of being right on the beach; the warm and welcoming members (one brought cookies to us as we moved in!) who also respect privacy and don't intrude; watching the dolphins as they make their morning trip up the coast, and as they return in the afternoon.
I stayed at this wonderful condo for two/three months. It is right on the beach with about 10 private stairs to the pool but far enough away to not get all the pool noise. The living room has two walls of windows which allow wonderful views of the beach/ocean and two sofas to stretch out on and read with comfort. A desk separates the dining area from the living and is a nice place to put your electronics. The kitchen is small but I cooked most nights and found it more than adequate. I didn’t use the tiny back patio but it is a nice place to have a drink when the west sun is filling the living room and seemed to always have a breeze. Bedrooms are more than adequate. I would have preferred the beds be two twins since I am a widow but most people would prefer the king which is two joined twins. The only negative to the unit I found was the abundance of traditional furniture and doodads. My taste runs very contemporary and sparse. However, it did not in way affect my enjoyment of the incredible ocean view and location. I absolutely loved the location which is close to everything and I was very happy there.

Renting this property was something of a change of direction for us. We have been visiting Naples for over 25 years and our previous ten visits had been as renters of single family homes close to the beach, but immediately on walking into this property we knew it was the place for us. It has the WOW factor. In all our years in Naples we believed we had enjoyed the best it had to offer, but staying in this apartment has enhanced even that high level of experience.
The owners could not be more helpful and attentive and present this property in a unique and charming way which has enchanted everyone who has visited. It is fully equipped for entertaining whether you want to host a formal dinner or a casual get-together on the beach, with the added bonus of a weekly cleaning service.
The 'icing on the cake' however is, of course, the location. We believe it cannot be beaten in Naples. Whilst the apartment is on the ground floor it is elevated enough to allow the most breathtaking views along the 3 mile stretch of beach from Naples Pier to Doctors Pass and is a wonderful viewing platform from which to watch the passing dolphins and manatees. The private steps to the lawn and beach are a very special feature, as is the balcony with small table and chairs at the rear of the property. It is a lovely place to have morning coffee whilst watching the ospreys fishing.
My wife and I rented this unit for 6 months, and we couldn't be more pleased with the unit, the views, the building manager and the owners. The condo has all one would need, including a weekly cleaning service. The views of the beach and the Gulf are spectacular, and the location is convenient to shopping and Old Naples. The overall experience left nothing to wish for. And dealing with the owners was a particular pleasure. We highly recommend this property.
Everything from the view to the slower pace of life and breath-taking sunsets were right here. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the property, the people around us, and the of course the breath-taking views.
The home is engulfed in windows keeping you right there on the gulf. From the living room, we saw dolphins getting their breakfast and supper every night. We hope to return.
Had a great deal of anticipation about this rental, and it proved to be even better than expected. After looking all up and down Gulfshore Blvd., we knew we did not want a high-rise, and wanted to be as close to the water as possible. The beachside pool setting simply cannot be beat, and the building itself is next to a small private park which enhances the beach by making it less crowded. The building faces the beach diagonally, and the condo is on the beach end in addition to facing the beach. No other condo we considered has this much glass. 180 views of the beach and water, the condo is first floor but set up from ground level about 8-10 feet, which enhance the views. We loved the electric blinds when we wanted a bit more privacy, and the reflecting wall in the living room which gives a sense of openness to the decor, like you have sea on all sides. The bathrooms and kitchen have been completely renovated and fitted with granite counter tops and top of the line new appliances, and the decor is tasteful, colors calm. We especially enjoyed having breakfast at the little table on the back stoop---offers perfect shade and good view from here too. If you need elevator access this place offers it....only qualm is there are no outlets in the bathrooms for hair dryers though it was not a big deal to use the outlets in the bedrooms. Some may require a bigger TV than is offered here, a traditional 19 inch is housed in a cabinet in the living room, but we found that to be more than adequate.
The pictures do not do this condo justice. When I walked in I was blown away with the the look and feel of the place. It was bright and cheerful. Then upon raising the blinds (I just loved these blinds) to show ceiling to floor windows on three sides with a breath taking view of the ocean, beach and pool. The furnishings are very comfortable and the condo just has a nice "welcome, comfy feel" to it. Most days and nights we got such a nice breeze that we were able to leave the windows open and not have to turn on the air conditioning (it was great to be able to fall asleep with the sound of the ocean in the background). In fact we only turned the air one night but we usually did turn the air on when we would be gone for long periods. Closing all the windows does require turning on the air.
The beds were very comfortable, and while we did not cook, the kitchen was very well stocked with all the kitchen utensils that a cook could want.
Although this is a first floor condo, it is really a second floor condo and having an elevator to get to the condo, rather than taking the steps, was great for me. The first floor condo's have a "door" that you can use to get to the pool or the ocean without having to go through the lobby - direct access to the outside which was wonderful. Also, this condo believes in recyling and the recyling bins are very well marked in the parking area - easy access.
While most people come to Florida to be at the ocean, we like to explore. The condo is within in 10 minutes or so of shopping and great restaurants. The Naples Zoo is a great way to spend the day, they do offer discounts if you are a member of zoo in another state. If you forget your zoo membership card, you can go on-line and get a coupon - it's worth the effort - pretty nice savings. About the zoo, the animals all seem very happy and the staff was very knowledge. We had a really great time.
While there were people staying at the condo, we did not come across many, but those that we did have contact with were very friendly.
This was a great stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Possibility of renting kayaks, windsurfers, sailboats, and jet-skis (with lessons if desired) at The Naples Hotel and Beach club....8 blocks down the beach.
