Beautiful home, wildlife every day, close to town but secluded.

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful rental. The home has everything you need and was immaculate upon our arrival. The property itself is also incredible. Deer, marmots, chipmunks, and squirrels were a constant source of entertainment. Plenty of rocks to climb and space to play. We spent evenings playing cards on the porch and enjoying nature with only an occasional car passing in the distance. Close to town but still secluded enough to feel like you're getting away.

Perfect for families!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Custer! The cabin was great. It was clean, homey, well appointed and has a beautiful setting. Our kids (6, 7 and 16) love to climb and explore and they had 14 acres out the back door. Awesome! The location was good too....very close to Custer State Park, a must see in the Black Hills! Thank you Mark and Donita for sharing your home with our family!

Fantastic Home!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (kids aged 9 and 7) stayed here for four nights during our vacation to the Black Hills. We enjoyed our time at the house very much. It was well more space than we needed - our 7 year old took to calling it the 'log cabin mansion' - as there were three beds we didn't even use! The house is comfortable and probably had the best stocked kitchen of any VRBO we have had (plenty of dishes, cooking pans, even a crock pot). We also enjoyed having the gas grill as an option. The setting is beautiful. We ate many meals out on the deck and our kids had a great time exploring the rocks and playing with the horseshoes. We loved the location of the house...secluded and quiet, yet a quick drive into Custer for groceries and restaurants. It was also an easy drive to the monuments, caves, and Custer State Park. The owners were great and even called our first night to make sure everything was going well. We only wished the curtains in the upstairs bedroom were a bit thicker as the morning light started shining in by 5:30 each day. We highly recommend this unit and would love to stay here again ourselves!

Awesome Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 enjoyed the cabin for 5 nights. It was an amazing vacation. The cabin was absolutely perfect. When we opened the door everyone oohed and aawed! It was better than the photos advertised. We saw deer every night and morning, and turkeys also. The cabin was extremely clean and stocked with everything we needed. The owners and cleaning lady were very pleasant and great to deal with. This cabin is secluded but close to Custer. It was so nice to step out of the cabin and hike and climb rocks. This cabin is just perfect. On our next vacation to the Black Hills we will check availability for this cabin first!

Family group over the 4th of July

  • 5 of 5

We are always interested in the reviews before we rent, so we hope this helps someone. We were a group of 4 adults (2 couples) over the 4th of July. The cabin was perfect! It is a log cabin and set in a rather secluded area. Close enough to Custer to go out to eat or to grab groceries and fix a meal at home (grill worked great). The view off the front porch is amazing. There are 3 levels of bedrooms, so everyone can spread out and 2 1/2 bathrooms make it pretty easy. The convenience of the location was perfect for us-- pretty close to Custer State Park for some pretty fun hiking and fishing. The cabin was clean and well maintained. We liked both the place and the location.
