It is no secret that Drummond Island is 'The Gem of the North'. This is truly God's Country. The peace and serenity will have you longing for a return visit to our outdoor paradise.
From the moment you enter our cozy cabin, you'll feel relaxed. The knotty pine, the cozy fireplace, and the log furniture give the cabin it's rustic appeal. Do not be surprised when you look up into the open ceiling and find wildlife mounted on the log beams.
We are located on Potagannising Bay, one of the best fishing areas around. If you bring your boat it can be docked right in front of the property. If you would like to rent a pontoon boat (in town) you can go exploring other Islands, hiking the shoreline, and collecting rocks. We have a large deck overlooking the Bay and a screen in porch for enjoying the views. It's all up to you - this is your vacation.
The Island is located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and is approximately an hour's drive from the Mackinac Bridge. It is accessible by car, plane or boat. The adventure starts with a Ferry ride over to the Island.

Things tend to move a little slower on the Island. People stop to chat about life, strangers honk and wave from their cars. Fishing reports are replace the business news. Rush hour traffic involves leaving 15 early to get a spot on the ferry. Drummond Island is known for beautiful sunsets and the wildlife you will see if commonplace. On your next trip, emphasize the quality of time spent on 'vacation', rather than the quantity of events on a guided tour. Trade in bright lights, overpriced hotel rooms and fast food for Northern Lights, kayaks and local beauty. Let the setting and scenery of the Island take care of you...it will provide all you really need. See you soon. Once you come you are family. Travel safe, enjoy our cabin and bring a camera to take lots of wonderful photos. Doug and Michelle Reichert Traverse City, MI.

Enjoy this little bit of heaven on earth...Kick off your shoes, pour yourself something cold, find a patch of sand and 'relax'. Isn't this what should be all about?
When you visit the Island, cherish your unscheduled time. Walk through the woods, enjoy the sites, watch for a bear or two, have an ice cream cone, laugh like a child, swap stories around the fire pit and just have some 'me time'. Creating the perfect vacation starts here!
Great vacation - First time visitors - we will be back. The cabin is everything promised plus more. We couldn't have been more excited. Thank you. See you next year.

Will definitely stay again. The kids loved all the animals around the cabin. Caught a lot of frogs and fish, great neighbor's. The sunsets where beautiful. It was "Reel Relaxing "
This cottage is the best kept secret on Drummond Island!! My family had a "Reel Relaxin" time and enjoyed alot of fishing and caught alot of Walleye! It was just what we needed to relax and enjoy the beautiful Island! We would definately visit again!
My wife and I really enjoyed the get a way! We really love the unique interior and beautiful view from the front porch. The Island is a great place to unplug. We will be back for sure.
Our family rented this cabin for a week in July and we absolutely LOVED it! We fell in love with the island and the cabin was wonderful. It had everything we needed; a stocked kitchen, plenty of games and movies, linens and towels. It was clean and very comfortable, we loved the wildlife mounted on the walls. My husband made great use out of the rowboat and we enjoyed many cool evenings by the fire out back. We had such a fun and relaxing vacation, thank you for opening up your home to us!
My husband and I rented this cottage from July 3 to July 10, 2010. Due to the Independence holiday, Tourist Rd was busy and the island was hopping with people, but we had a great time joining in all the activities including the Parade and Arts & Crafts Show which was held at the local school. Later in the evening, we went to the fireworks held on the school grounds. What a wonderful evening that was with a great display of fireworks and an ice cream cone purchased at the Tee Pee afterwards.
We loved the cottage and the water view. Hope to be back again next year for another great vacation. Thanks for sharing your home with us. We had a wonderful time!
