About Kay

This home has been in our family since 1996. Our experiences with this house have been that of uniqueness, excitement, bonding, and joy. Since our family has moved on, its tenants have been diverse and many. For several years we offered it to family, friends, and missionaries from our church who needed a place between their calls of service. In 2010 we decided to list it here on VRBO / HomeAway. We always found our house to be a wonderful place for families to gather, experience, and grow, and we hope our home will provide such an environment for those who choose to visit.

Kay purchased this house in 1996

Why Kay chose Southern Wisconsin

We work very hard to make sure our house & property is well maintained and up-to-date.... interior and exterior. Since we began our VRBO journey, we've been making improvements every year. We hope they are appreciated by our guests.

What makes this house unique

Character. Charm. Personality. Uniqueness. Private. Intimate. Quiet. Get-Away. Spacious. One of a kind.

So wonderful

  • 5 of 5

WOW!!! We fell head over heels in love with this place! We loved all of the intricate details you can only get from being in a Victorian style home. The place was absolutely beautiful and we had an absolute blast here over the weekend. Can't wait to figure out another reason for us to stay at the house.

And the owner was so wonderful and so nice to work with. This is a definite must if you're looking to stay in the area.

Private and peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd stay at this home, and it is such a peaceful and beautiful setting. Sitting on the porch or down on the patio overlooking the lake is heaven. The house is well-appointed and very clean -- with high quality bed linens (a thing I have come to value greatly after staying at many, many rental homes) and a complete kitchen. Overall the setting is spectacular and the house a perfect escape.

A happy return

  • 5 of 5

Our three-generation family was delighted to return for our second summer visit to the lovely lake house, quickly settling back in and feeling at home. The house has a warm and inviting feel and is furnished for comfort and practicality: every need has been anticipated. The home felt spacious for the eight of us, who ranged in age from 3 to 71, with places for us all to gather as a group - we especially enjoyed the wrap-around porch - as well as quiet retreats. We enjoy cooking together so appreciated the very well-equipped kitchen and the outdoor grill. Upstairs there are three generous-sized bedrooms with king and queen beds and a third floor with beds for children as well as a game and lounge area. The three full bathrooms are a definite plus. As we knew from before, the Internet worked flawlessly, and the central air conditioning was very welcome during a heat wave. Of course, we soaked up the beautiful and tranquil setting, enjoying getting into the amazingly clear lake, playing with the kids on the float, taking out the paddle boat, or just sitting quietly and enjoying the play of light on the water. The house feels very private, well-screened from neighboring properties, and in general the lake is very quiet. In fact, mid-week, we often felt as though we had it all to ourselves. Once again it was a pleasure to work with Kay on the rental; the rental process is very clear and well organized, and if there's a question, her response is immediate. We look forward to being in touch about returning next summer.

Perfect family vacation

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely house. My family of 4, along with extended family ranging in age from 8 to 75 years old, spent a wonderful week together here. The house exceeded my expectations in every way. It was very clean upon arrival and the owners really had thought of everything to make sure that we felt welcome and at home. The three bathrooms are all very nicely updated and provide privacy when sharing with a larger group. The bedrooms are very comfortable, and the loft provided a great shared area for the 4 kids in our party. They loved having their own space that included the beds, bathroom and lots of play area. Although the house was perfect and full of Victorian character, the real highlight is the location. The lot is huge, beautifully landscaped, and leads down to a very private deck on the lake. We spent most of our time on the deck or on the front porch of the house which has a great view of the water. My kids barely came inside the entire time we were there, and especially enjoyed the paddle boat and the swim raft. The water is perfect for kids to swim in, and the provided life vests were an added bonus. The lake is very quiet with few power boats. We have stayed at several rental homes in the area and this one is the best. You will not be disappointed!

Perfect setting for a lake house!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this beautiful lake home. It was the perfect setting for a week of summer fun on the water. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, and taking in the beautiful view of the lake. We loved that the lake isn't overcrowded with homes, so the atmosphere seemed more relaxed. The kids loved swimming off the dock to the raft. We enjoyed the large yard, front and back and there's a nice bike path near the house. The house was adorable and very clean and comfortable!
