Guestbook comments from the manager

I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at the Blue Anini Cottage. It was everything we expected and more. The cottage was beautiful, very clean, and had all kinds of extras for our use. We appreciated the beach equipment, local guides, books, music, dvds and the basics that were in the kitchen, such as spices, foil, etc. The only thing we needed to purchase was any food we wanted while staying at the cottage. We made great use of the recommendations you sent in advance of our stay. We enjoyed the local beaches, sitting on the lanai, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking.

We wanted to thank you for returning the deposit without any follow-up on our part.

I don't know if there's a website that has reviews for your cottage, but I'd be glad to provide a review and high rating for your place, if you'd like.

Great location! Lots of conveniences and amenities. Anna-Lise was very responsive and kind.

Perfect place for the two of us! Kind and attentive host answered our every request with aloha spirit. WiFi was marginal - but hey, it’s Kaua’i! Comfortable bed and nice kitchen too!

Well located northshore cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Nice well appointed, clean, comfortable cottage close to Anini Beach, Kilauea, Princeville and Hanalei. Well equipped with beach towels, beach chairs, matts, cooler and some kids toys. Great, non-pillow top bed, which was much appreciated in this current age of over-soft often worn out cheap pillow-top beds that are found in most motels and rentals. Annalise, the local agent was very responsive to our needs and always responded to phone calls and text very quickly.

We cooked most of our meals in the cottage. The cottage is only a few minutes drive to grocery stores and Princeville shops. Foodland in Princeville is a great store with a good selection and reasonable prices - avoid the grocery store in Hanalei, it’s small and expensive.

Our guide book was iffy on the the local restaurants but we discovered The Bistro in Kilauea on the road to the lighthouse and had a an excellent and reasonably priced dinner there.

I do have minor suggestions: The cottage has two vacuum cleaners but a broom would have been nice for quickly sweeping up beach sand on the porch. The kitchen pots, pans and knives could be improved. The pots and pans are cheap and worn, and the all the knives are serrated so maybe they can cut through steel bars but they can’t dice an onion.

My only real complaint is about VRBO. When we made our reservation and as our check in date approached we received clear emails with all the necessary info for check in and payment. Even though I saved these emails, I swear that they changed and the check in info disappeared all in an attempt by VRBO to make me set up an account or download their app. I saw this mentioned in previous reviews so I printed the emails so I was not stuck on the porch of our rental trying to download the VRBO app to acces the key lock box code!

Super great

Owner and property manager exceptionally courteous with lots of extra items you might need for the beach and many things for everyday life. Like your own hotel Villa but with more privacy.

Great affordable place to stay!

  • 4 of 5

I loved this little cottage - we had a family of 5 staying there, which was quite cozy with 2 teenagers and a tween along with mom and dad- but it was close to all north shore attractions and beaches. Everything we needed was provided. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location for us

  • 5 of 5

We will definitely recommend this cottage for a North-Shore stay in Kauai.

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay!

It is very close to the wonderful Anini Beach, very well equipped (e.g Beach chairs), clean, and comfortable. To the supermarket (Prinveville) it is a 5 minute drive. We enjoyed the short drives to Hanalei and Kapa'a.

It was also private and quiet. During our 3 weeks stay the other part of the house was not rented.

Anna-Lise was always more than helpful, really appreciate it!

Kind regards from Germany, may we see us again :-)

Just perfect for the 2 of us!

  • 4 of 5

This is a conveniently located little spot to stay. Just a few minutes away from two different beaches, and not far at all from the shops in Princeville and Hanalei. The decor is comfortable, the bathroom is updated and lovely...nice shower head, the bed was really comfortable and there are nice amenities. We made good use of the beach chairs and umbrella. The only part of the house that is air-conditioned is the bedroom, which we were disappointed by at first. But it works great because it's wonderful for sleeping (it drowns out the sounds of the roosters!) and the rest of the house is open to the lovely Hawaiian breezes. Breakfast on the lanai is so nice. The roadway traffic noise next to the house can be loud at times, but generally is not a problem, and is hidden from view by the beautiful landscaping.
