Newly retired history teacher, mother of three, who finally made it back to full time living in beloved Vermont. But I am off to see the world and visit my grandchildren. So be my guest and enjoy the beautiful location, away from the fray, yet close to town and mountain skiing.
Kit Olivi purchased this house in 1990
Country setting, uncluttered, unique classic home. Hearing the river and the wind blowing the trees, enjoying the fragrance of a woodburning stove wafting through the air, you cant beat it.
My wife and I, along with our three dogs, had the pleasure to stay in this lovely house for several nights and couldn't have asked for anything better. The house is quaint and charming yet has all the luxuries of home. The property is gorgeous with a beautiful backyard, and the house has plenty of room for a big family or lots of friends. Would highly recommend this home, which is also a short drive to Manchester and Bennington. Kit was also quick to respond to any messages/questions and was a terrific homeowner to work with.
From the moment we began interacting with Kit before our stay, she was the most helpful and generous host we could have asked for. From great arrival instructions to asking us what kind of coffee we wanted to be making in the mornings, she was extremely considerate and prompt in her responses. Our stay at the house was perfect. Cozy rooms, fully stocked kitchen, amazing fireplace in the living room....you name it. The yard is a great place for lounging, outdoors brunch, and even a game of croquet. The experience was quintessential Vermont and our group couldn't stop talking about how great the house was for the entire weekend. Definitely a must-stay if you're passing through the area, or if you're lucky enough to rent it for the ski season, book it before it's too late!
We stayed here for 2 weeks in July while at the Vermont Summer festival. MY daughter and her friend loved it as it was like coming home at the end of the day not like returning to a hotel. Owner gracious and helpful when anything came up. Can't wait to stay again next year
My family and I spent 4 nights here between Christmas and New Years. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is a beautiful old farmhouse in great condition. We had fires going in the living room and kitchen every night. It was so cozy. The beds were extremely comfortable with top of the line bedding. Showers were hot. The home has old world charm with modern updates. The owner was lovely and extremely accommodating. Would definitely rent this home again!
My family enjoyed a wonderful stay at this home. It is a classic Vermont farm house with a beautiful stone fireplace and wood stove in the kitchen. We could see the mountains from the windows and hear the stream across the street. Although a bit rustic, the home offered updated amenities. The shower power was excellent; beds were very comfortable and included lovely comforters and covers, brand new TV, nice gas stove and full-stocked kitchen. It was difficult to leave this "little bit of heaven." Can't wait to return.
