Perfect Little Getaway

  • 4 of 5

First, as you pull up, you are blown away by size of this home. The house appears to be small, but oddly, is quite roomy inside. We had a family of 5 in this house, and had plenty of space.

The house offers everything you need. The young kids loved the balcony overlooking the living area and had no problem staying occupied for several days. And when we took it outside, they loved to walk down the hillside and hike on the side of the mountain. Sometimes its the little things that matter, and stocked "fire starters" logs were perfect to get the fires ripping immediately.

You are about a ten minute drive to the heart of Manchester Center without all of the traffic and busy-ness and even less to the Mountain for skiing. This home is well within the budget of anyone looking to rent in this area and gives you a warm, cozy feeling of being on an intimate vacation with your family.

Also, the owners are very attentive to questions and answer emails very quickly!

Nothing fancy but a perfect spot for a ski weekend

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I and our three children stayed at this home over February break for a family ski trip. The accommodations aren't fancy, but the house was clean and had the perfect amount of space for the 5 of us. It was a quick drive to Bromley and about a 20 minute drive to Stratton.

The kitchen space is tiny so don't expect to do much cooking or entertaining. Our only complaint was that the firewood was very damp so making a fire was difficult. Other than that the home was perfect for a quick ski trip and ideal if you are trying to stay within a budget. I would definitely stay here again!

Small but efficient.

  • 4 of 5

The house was suitable for our family of 5 for a long ski weekend. We didn’t spend much time at the house and only used the very small kitchen to prepare breakfast. The accommodations were fine for our needs but if you are looking to entertain or spend a good deal of time at the house you might be disappointed. Overall the house was clean and had the space that we needed. I would recommend it if you are trying to stay within a budget. Very close to Bromley and about 15/20 min to Stratton.

Vermont Ski weekend nostalgia

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely home! We really enjoyed the quaint A frame ski lodge. There was plenty of room for our family of four. The location was perfect for skiing at Bromley. We hope to be back!

Ok but could use some updating utensils in the kitchen

  • 3 of 5

At first sight the place was really cute and it was fine but it was tired. The kitchen was supposed to have Pantry items although there was cinnamon the silverware was very old there was only one steak knife. Some of the lights did not work. The wood for the fireplace was not seasoned and was wet and hard to start a fire. I just think it could have been better if the kitchen had more equipped utensils that even though were clean did not appear to be

Owner's Response: All the lights within the property are in working order. Some lamps are plugged into out lets that are connected to a wall switch and the lamps themselves have switches. Coordinating the two quickly solves the problem. While one may find salt and pepper in the property we do not supply condiments, a spice rack, nor do we advertise same. Yes the silverware is dated. The home is advertised as a sixties built "A" frame, old style ski chalet. The silverware is reminiscent of the time period. Firewood is contained in an outside shed free of the elements. Making and maintaining a fire some say is an art form. For some it is easy and others not. Directions on how to start afire are at the house.
