This unit is perfectly situated on the gulf shore with a beautiful and relaxing view of the beach and ocean from the deck. It is a third story unit with no one above you and it is very quiet. If you chose you do not have to leave the premises because of the two beautiful pools just steps from the front door.
The complex is safe and enjoyable. Excellent landscaping, very lush. On site fitness center as well.
Please note this unit is on the 3rd floor and the complex does not have elevators in the buildings.
This was my 3rd time renting this spacious 3rd floor condo, & I wasn't disappointed. Over the past 6-7 years the owner, Mr. Markle, has maintained and continued to make improvements to the property. This time around, he had installed a new AC unit. As always, the unit was clean and tidy. I began each day drinking hot coffee (new Keurig machine) on the balcony, enjoying the fresh sea breeze and beautiful sunrise as I planned the day ahead of me. However the best new addition is probably that the city of Galveston has now extended the beach well past 61st street, so that means all you have to do is walk across the street from the unit......and you're on the beach! Place a check beside rental #302539. Good unit + Good location + Good owner = Great vacation!
We stayed here for our kids' spring break and it was nice. Great location across from the beach, restaurants and other amenities.
The condo was in good shape. There was some light maintenance work that would take an afternoon and maybe $100 to fix. Some light bulbs were out, the balcony blinds only opened about a foot and the A/C didn't work well.
We were a bit disappointed in having to go out and buy hand soap, toilet paper and...pretty much everything else.
Prospective renters should know that the road between the condo and beach is 4 lanes and fairly busy, so you'll not only hear the beach, but the traffic as well.
Nonetheless, a good place for a family with a dog that wants to visit the beach!
My husband and I spent a month in Galveston, and were delighted with this condo. Clean, it had everything we needed, and is conveniently situated close to a Walmart and major grocery stores. Many restaurants are just a short drive away along the ocean front. It has a lovely view of the ocean, and is full of light.
Jim, the owner, has to be one of the kindest and most thoughtful owners. When the toaster broke, a new one was delivered the next day. He is prompt to answer any questions, and after our car was totalled in an accident in Houston and my husband had to fly back to Canada to purchase a replacement, Jim was kind enough to let me stay a few extra days in the condo at no charge till my husband returned. I can't imagine many owners would do that! I highly recommend this condo to anyone wishing for a pleasant stay.
My family (two adults, two young kids) had a great one-week stay here. We love the location, all the attractions on Seawall are within a mile or two. The upstairs loft has plenty of room for two kids or teens to do their own thing; it's more like a two-bedroom unit in many ways. The kitchen was stocked with dishes and utensils, a coffee maker, just about anything you could need. The owner emailed me with all the info we would need in advance. We never had to reach out to him with any questions or issues, which is exactly what a traveler would want. There were a few very minor imperfections: an electrical outlet with no plastic cover; wires dangling from the ceiling where a smoke detector should be; missing slats on the vertical blinds. A trip to the hardware store and a few hours of fixing up would go a long way. The only functional problem was that the sliding door to the balcony was very difficult to slide- the wife and kids struggled with it, and it could be a problem for older guests. Then again, most old folks should probably steer clear of a third-floor unit to begin with. All in all, a great experience, would not hesitate to rent it again.
Wonderful condo, great location, beautiful view. I spent a couple of days in Galveston with my mom and my twin boys. We enjoyed the pool, the beach and relaxing in our great condo. Hope we can come back soon and stay longer.
My family and I and my parents stayed for 5 nights and it was great! Just enough room for the 5 of us and we never felt cramped. The condo was beautiful and very clean. This was the first time using VRBO and it couldn't have worked better. The fishing was great at the piers and rollover pass, but our favorite thing was catching blue crabs! The ocean was just across the road which was so easy to enjoy walks and swimming. When the tide would go out there was a fantastic beach to enjoy without being busy like the beach by the pier.
