Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

1-bedroom cottage with wood stove, 2 decks next to stream

Lovely mountain retreat

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful, serene, very clean mountain home, 5 minutes from main street Woodstock. Two decks overlooking trees and creek, with wildflower landscaping. Cozy living area could've used a second easy chair, and bathroom was snug (especially the shower), but bedroom in upstairs loft had comfy reading areas and a deck attached. Very well equipped, owner always accessible by email.

Perfect get-away from it all

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect, just what my husband and I needed for a weekend away from the everyday stresses of work and kids. The home is so tranquil and perfectly thought out. The furnishings and linens were like a dream. The top deck was perfect for reading a book and taking a quick cat nap in the winter sun after our day of skiing.

Location was perfect. About a mile to the town of Woodstock, we ran into town each morning for coffee and breakfast at the bakery and took the slow walk home up the hill drinking coffee. Another mile or so up the hill is the Overlook trail which was a challenge but so fun to climb. The monastery at the top of the hill was neat for exploring too.

We had dinner and/or a drink at every open spot in Woodstock (apparently January is their slow time but we enjoyed our time there just as well). The food at every restaurant was out of this world. We will definitely be back!!

Perfect, Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect cottage! It was so relaxing and cozy, we did not want to go home. The cottage is very close to the town of Woodstock and Overlook Mountain Trail, which I also highly recommend. The cottage had anything we could have wanted to enjoy the weekend. We will definitely be back!!!

Very cozy, quiet and clean. Fabulous location.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in Woodstock. It's a very cute town with lots of shops and restaurants. The cabin is a 4 min drive to town. We are vegan and there are some amazing restaurants in Woodstock that serve beautiful, delicious food we could eat.

The cabin itself is very well maintained and although a little "rustic" the owner has added some unique touches with lighting being one of the most charming aspects. Nice balcony off the bedroom area with a view of the trees changing color this time of year. The porch swing under the balcony was nice for a cat nap and reading a good book.

We used the wood stove a few of the evenings but also used the baseboard heat which was controlled with a thermostat in the kitchen area. One drawback was the baseboard heat would come on in the middle of the night once the temperature dropped and was a bit noisy.

Small fridge, gas stove...both we used everyday cooking dinner or breakfast. Lots of organic natural food stores/groceries in Woodstock.

The mattress on the bed seemed firm enough but by morning I had a slight backache everyday. Maybe a new mattress is needed?

There is only one bathroom which is small with a very tight shower stall. For the more reasonable price of this private cabin compared to most of Woodstock, I wouldn't be deterred by any negatives mentioned in my review.

We would definitely go back again despite the fact Woodstock is 7 hours from our home in Pittsburgh, PA.

As an aside, we went when the annual Woodstock Film Festival was going on (we had no idea!). If you're into independent films, documentaries and seeing the North American Premier of such films tickets ahead on line for the popular movies. Alec Baldwin came to town for a film he was in during our stay. Celebrities come every year for this film festival if you like that sort of thing. ;-)

We also visited 2 farm sanctuaries which were within 30 min or so from Woodstock.

I wish we had the quiet and privacy this cabin offered at our house!😀򐀠I took some photos but I don't think I can post them here unfortunately.

Charming cottage in Woodstock

  • 4 of 5

We recently stayed for three nights in this quaint cottage in Woodstock. It was our first time in the Woodstock area. It was very peaceful, perfect for a quiet getaway. It's in a great location: close to town but just far enough where you can enjoy some quiet time and privacy in the woods. The downstairs is small, but the cottage is well-kept and stocked with all the essentials you'll need. I really enjoyed the loft-style of the bedroom, the upstairs is spacious. We enjoyed being able to open up the doors to the deck attached to the bedroom every morning for fresh air. I would recommend this cute little cottage for anyone looking to get away from busy city life.

Enjoyed our stay

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is very cute. Loved all the flowers and creek. The bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the creek in the evenings. The cabin is located close to Woodstock. It was convinient to town and hiking trails. I would recomend taking your own towels. Only 2 are provided. There was plenty of green space to take the dog out. We enjoyed our stay.
