Welcome to the Little Chippewa Point Lodge! Our home has an open floor plan with high cathedral ceilings. There is a new kitchen with hickory cabinets, 2 sinks, full size refrigerator, dishwasher, gas range and microwave. There is a large island and big pantry in the kitchen making it a great space for preparing meals! There are a total of 3 bedrooms in the house. The two downstairs bedrooms have queen size beds. The upstairs bedroom has a full and twin bed. Our loft area comes with a futon for additional sleeping. There are two full bathrooms in the house. One of the bathrooms does have a shower/tub unit in it. There is a large deck on the water side of the house. The deck has a full patio set with 6 chairs and an umbrella. The house does come with your own private dock!
Boat, Kayak and SUP Rentals available. Any equipment can be delivered right to the dock making it an easy process and getting you out on the water as fast as possible.
Stayed at the Lodge for a Family Vacation this year. The accommodations were terrific, exactly as described and expected. Truth be told, we happened to be in Chippewa Bay earlier in the year visiting friends and just by chance we tried ti find the place (from the water). We couldn't find it so we ended up driving to the Riverbay Adventure Inn and again by chance we found Mike on the premises and he gave us the directions to drive there. The door to the cabin was open so we looked around and we knew we made the right decision. WE loved the whole experience being in the Thousand Islands for a week, we ended up buying a place not too far away from the cabin...hoping to close the deal mid-Sept 2014. We will be official River Rats soon.
We were called to the area for a dear friend's funeral and needed a house for family and friends from out of town. We called Mike and asked about availability. He was immediately thoughtfully concerned and offered the house when we needed it.
The house more than fit the bill for us. With the open floor plan we were able to enjoy cooking in the large kitchen, eating at the huge (and custom made) dining table, or visiting in the living room. The home was cozy and comfortable. It even has a distinctive fresh wood smell (it IS a log home).
Seeing the stars out the large front windows, watching wildlife or meditating on "the point" were all highlights of our stay.
The house was well appointed, Mike's customer service was impeccable, and the location is breathtaking.
Wish we could have been there under better circumstances, but the house did its part to give us a welcoming home when we needed it. It held our laughs and our tears.
Would love to return someday, Thanks Mike.
This was our families first trip to Chippewa Bay (not the last) and the 1000 Islands area. The cabin was great, just as described in this ad. It was clean, comfortable, very roomy for our family of six, and cheerful. All appliances were functional and the seating was adequate and comfortable. We came to the Chippewa Bay area to fish. We brought our own 18 foot boat and the docking facilities were excellent and access to the dock was very manageable even for Nan and Pap.
We boated out to Singer Castle for a tour and we also visited the local aquarium.
We also checked out the local towns for shopping and dining. There is a lot to do in the area.
Our thanks to Mike, the owner, He could not have been more accomodating. Great place, great service, great area - We will be back again.
If you want to do the 1000 islands justice I highly recommend staying here. The house is gorgeous. The owner was great to deal with and super helpful in answering all our questions. The end of the road where the house is located is so private.
We brought our own kayaks and were amazed how many beautiful islands the area has to paddle around. I could have spent the whole week paddling amongst all the islands and creeks in Chippewa bay! Others in my group of 8 wanted to explore the little towns nearby on the U.S. and Canadian shores and this house is a great home base to do so from. We are all looking forward to many more great vacations at your beautiful home.
I don’t usually write reviews but having stayed at this property in July and reading the post of another reviewer I had to say something. This place is a gem! Our family stayed here in July and had an AWESOME time. Our kids had so much fun. They were kicking and screaming when we put them in the car seats to leave because they were ready to go on the boat again. The pontoon boat, which we rented from the owner, ran great all week and we sure gave the swim ladder a workout. Our 3 year old even caught his first fish at a fishing spot the owner recommend we try.
I have stayed at many different “river camps” in the Thousand Islands over the years with varying degrees of difficulty in accessing the water. Our little kids had no problem getting from the house to the dock by themselves. We also have never stayed in a camp with a nicer kitchen and we have stayed at places that cost considerably more. We had no issue fitting our stuff for the week in the bedroom closets. Thanks for everything Mike and we’ll see you next summer.
Let me first say that this is an absolutely beautiful building, property, and area and that our party of 9 had a great time regardless of the many, many, pitfalls we should not have had to deal with.
First let me say that you should pay close attention to the photos shown here. Like I said this is a beautiful place, but it has glaring omissions from what most would assume as normal rental standards. This is an entire list of furniture in the building...a big couch and dining table(that seats 8 not 9 as it sleeps), a TV and stand, 3 beds, a futon, and 2 hat racks. There are NO other tables of any sort, no coffee or end tables, luggage stands, or anything that could be used to set things on or charge things on. There are no dressers or end tables in any of the bedrooms. No bedside lights either. Luckily we brought lots of coolers and we used boxes to bring up food...as that's what we all had to use as night stands in our bedrooms. There were 2 solitary hangers in the entire house...no phone either... Also we found it rather odd that there is not one single decoration.
Lets see what else, luckily the youngest person in our group was 20 seeing as there was absolutely nothing for children to do. No games, DVD's or VHS tapes...not that there is anything to play them on anyway. The place didn't even have a pad of paper or a pen even. We had to buy a fly swatter.
Now for the service issues...we booked this 9 or 10 months in advance and even helped the owner out by paying sooner than was normally required. Now this place rents by the week, normally saturday to saturday. DO NOT assume that boat rentals last 7 days from check in to check out, as every other rental property in the world does. The owner sent his helpers to fetch the boat Friday morning, without even contacting us prior, citing some math about check out times that I've yet to figure out. He still owes us 1/7th of what we paid him for the boats as far as I'm concerned. Also. the boats were supposed to be there at check in, but for some reason I had to go over with it.
We had to ask for ice cube trays, because the icemaker in the beautiful new fridge wasn't hooked up. These took 2-3 days to get along with enough towels and pillows. 3 of our party didn't have pillows for 3 nights.
Finally, BEWARE of the steps to the steps. They desperately need a handrail. We had 3 tumbles in our party 2 of which were from a very sprite 80 year old.
