We were highly disappointed with the property. We've stayed in a number of HomeAway locations at the Cape, Charleston, and Nice, France and have always very much enjoyed the homes we stayed in. This experience was far from relaxing, and we could not wait to get back to our own home.
The property is poorly maintained -- don't believe the pictures! Among the issues with the home: (1) In general, the electrical work was questionable -- wires were visible from the ceiling fan, an electrical outlet had a hole in the wall with visible wires behind it, some of the switches didn't work, and a series of wires were hanging around the exterior back side of the building; (2) All of the French doors had rotted sills and did not close properly (one door kept blowing open even though it was locked); (3) the beds were uncomfortable (you could feel the springs in one of the beds and the others had odd foam covers), (4) there were cockroaches in 2 of the bathrooms (which were very outdated); (5) the exterior patio had a series of broken tiles; (6) there were leeches in the pool; (7) TV remotes didn't work in the bedrooms; and (8) the fencing in the back (not shown in photos) was severely damaged. Overall, it felt like the place was falling apart. In addition, the property manager did not show up until Monday (we arrived on Saturday) and when he did show up (unannounced) we missed him because we were at breakfast -- I received an angry e-mail from the sales person telling us we missed check-in. The manager never showed up to check us out at the conclusion of our stay (we waited for over an hour). The company charges you all of the money up front months before your stay (which should have been a red flag), probably because they know people would leave and refuse to pay once they arrived. Finally, the location is less than ideal -- the beaches that are close by are all dirty with lots of litter and the constant traffic along Route 1/Biscayne Ave. makes driving frustrating. In short, find another place to stay -- at this price point you can do much, much better.
The house was prettier and bigger than looked in pictures and is plenty of every thing that you can need.
It is next to Biscayne Blvd, so is really fast to be in Brickell or in Downtown Miami. It is just 5 minutes to beautiful beaches in Bal Harbour area. But, I should say, the pool (heated if you want) and the pier in the property invite you to stay home.
Ricardo (the manager) is available in any moment and is in the area always.
Had a BBQ in the yard enjoying the sunset at the private marina ...no words needed.
The house was perfect for our group of 10 from Charleston, SC. The open floor plan was beautiful! I wanted to cry the day we left because of how awesome the house was! It is a short drive to South Beach & there are many restaurants, grocery stores, etc within close proximity to the house! We brought our boat & the inlet location couldn't have been better! It was a short boat ride to south beach & the water is crystal clear the minute you get out of the inlet! The house had some plumbing issues while we stayed but the manager was quick to send someone out to fix the issue. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to visit Miami!
The house was beautiful and everything was set up for us! The neighborhood was nice and safe! We had a group of 10 girls and everyone was comfortable!
