Best location for your visit to San Francisco. Enjoy the convenience of an easy walk to Financial District, North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Union Square, the theater District, or just simply take the Cable Car.
This is the ideal place to have the quintessential experience of living like a local in San Francisco. Have a nice cup of coffee in the morning with the Cable Car bell sound outside your window. Explore the many famous sites around the city, then come home to a quiet evening. The use of 2 transit cards are included to make exploring the city easier.
The flat is a spacious 750 sq. ft. (70 sq. M) located on the top floor of a 4 story building, away from the street. The flat is very quiet. You will have a great night of sleep on the queen sized bed with 800 thread count sheets.
The living room is next to the bedroom, with the option of pocket doors to separate the rooms. Enjoy sitting on the comfortable couch by day and convert it into a queen sized bed by night. The living room is also furnished with a beautiful dining table and chairs, as well as a 40' flat screen.
The kitchen is stocked with cooking pots, pans and utensils, as well as basic spices.
The full bathroom has a shower over tub.
I grew up in San Francisco. Love this world class city for all it has to offer.
Mike & Amy purchased this apartment in 2003
It is centrally located. You can walk every where, or take public transit. Our world famous cable car is just right outside of the building.
Union Square, North Beach (Italian District), Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, Financial District and world class restaurants are all within an easy 20 minutes walk, or take the Cable Car.
We are family of 4 , and stay for a week , we really " score " in this place , is super convenient to Everything : Chinatown, walk down Union Square ( or cable car ) , walk to fisherman wharf ( or cable car )---the 2 cards for use on buses was a Super Plus -- , place clean , all working perfectly , comfy bed..super comfy sofa bed , TV with plenty channels , Super Quiet ( amazing ), a lot of restaurant around with easy walk distance ...I know you go up and down but is San Francisco way, the neighborhood was very safe .
Owners very handy and fast response ( really appreciate).
Overall Excellent Choice , my next time will be here again and again.
Don't doubt just booked.
Very conveniently located on Nob Hill in a good and safe area. The place was clean and the building was ok (for SF standards). I would just recommend to Mike (the owner) to provide some shower gel and shampoo at least for the first night for guests that arrive late and don't have time to buy any. Overall, excellent review. Would recommend.
The tidy 1 bedroom apartment was perfect for a family of 4. Right on the cable car line to quickly hop on with the 2 passes provided, which is a huge benefit alone. Lots to see and do within walking distance. 20 min one way to downtown & 25 min the other way to Fisherman's wharf & pretty much right on Chinatown! Couldn't have picked a more central location. I would definitely stay there again and recommend others. Thanks Mike & Amy!
We had a great stay. The location of the apartment is perfect! The included Muni passes made the trip! We were able to get all over the city and explore using everything from cable cars (stops in front of apartment or just up the block depending on which way you need to go) and connect to any bus or lightrail if needed. Although we never saw Mike the owner, he was very hospitable and always available to answer any questions we had. The apartment was very clean, had plenty of supplies (i.e. dishes, glasses, silverware, dish soap, laundry soap, towels) and a perfect size for my husband, myself and our eight year old son.
Although we could not acclimatize ourselves to the strange mix of odours in the hall and stairwell, we found our home away from home very comfortable, quiet and clean. The bed, sheets and pillows were great. We appreciated the kettle as there weren't any in the previous VRBOs where we stayed prior to our arrival in SF. We were 5 blocks from our daughter's place - so quite a convenient location for us. We loved the view of the Bay Bridge and the Transamerica Pyramid down John St. We only ate in for breakfast, but the kitchen was stocked nicely.
We did tour the Cable Car Museum - no entrance fee - in the next block and enjoyed that very much.
We used the transit cards a few times. It was a thoughtful gesture of our hosts, and much appreciated. Transit drivers were very helpful, too.
At first the three sets of stairs were daunting, but after a week of the hills of San Francisco they became hardly a challenge at all!
Thank you for the hospitality...

What a fabulous place, very comfortable bed and hide-a-bed, plenty of storage areas, washer/ dryer a BIG plus, plenty of room for the three of us. Safeway grocery store very close, you need a card for special prices, we were given one at the store. We used the transit cards everyday, what a savings. Thank you Mike and Amy for being very accommodating to our schedule. We would definitely stay here again.
Great resturaunts in the area, Dim Sum on Pacific is amazing, cheap, cash only. The House asian fusion, great food, reservations a must. Boudin, by pier 39, great sandwiches.
