Front Range Colorado House Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, sleeps 6. We are a horse friendly property. :)

RECENTLY CONTACTED BY CASTING FOR THE T.V. SHOW 'FOUR HOUSES'!! You and yours will be cozy in our fully furnished home on a lake in the backyard of all that Colorado’s back country has to offer, while still being within an hour’s drive to Denver or an 87 mile scenic drive to some of Colorado’s best skiing!

We offer the perfect destination for your next get away, family vacation, honeymoon, glamping trip, artistic inspiration, or Colorado adventure!

Our two story mountain home is entirely newly renovated with many upgrades. You’ll enjoy a nice open floor plan with all new kitchen appliances, buffet style granite counter tops, fire place in living area, hardwood flooring, new carpet upstairs, vaulted ceilings, tons of windows, an over sized king sized bed with TV in the master bedroom, a full sized feather bed in the second bedroom, two full baths with marble and tile, upstairs and downstairs outdoor decks, front loading washer and dryer, and more! There is a very comfortable queen sized sofa bed as well as a loft area if you need some extra space!

You will find yourself surrounded by Pike National Forest and the South Platte River. This area has a plethora of activities to offer. You may want to fish in the lake right out your front door (daily fishing permits required), and cook the trout you caught for lunch on the grill, backpack, hunt, mountain bike, go white water rafting, view the incredible red rock formations and see all that Lost Creek Wilderness has to offer, take the beautifully scenic byway of the Guanella Pass to view the changing Aspens on your way to historic Georgetown where you can take a steam train ride tour of the Lebanon Silver Mine, visit McGraw Park, Hall Valley, or Shawnee, do some snow shoeing, cross country skiing, snow sledding, bring your snow mobile for some fun riding, ice skate or ice fish on the frozen lake in winter. In the evening, take a scenic drive to the legendary The Fort restaurant in Morrison, Colorado for a real Rocky Mountain dining experience. Make sure you leave early enough to stroll through Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater. You will want to bring your camera! Spend the rest of your evenings star gazing off the second story deck through the telescope provided for your viewing pleasure, tell ghost stories and roast marshmallows by the fire pit (use of pit subject to county open flame bans), relax and watch a movie on the big screen tv, cozy up with a book or play a board game! We are in the perfect location to get away from it all or get in the middle of it all! There is something to spark the interest of everyone. We have made many cherished family memories at this mountain retreat and are sure you will too!

Why Holly Hopkins chose Front Range Colorado

We absolutely fell in love with the scenic views of this property. After basically gutting the house and remodeling everything from literally the floor up, it's been a family project. With everything in the house being brand new and lots of upgrades, this is what our family jokingly dubs camping in style. We are very proud of the outcome of our lake house. Each season brings its own vision of beauty to be admired. In the spring, our family loves to hike and see all of the wildlife that surrounds us. In summer, we like to fish in the lake right out our front door and grill what was caught. On summer nights, we love to roast marshmallows (or smarshmellows as our young daughter calls them) by the fire pit. In fall, we love to drink hot cocoa on the deck and stare at the vibrant, popping colors of the fall leaves. In winter, our absolute favorite activity is to ice skate on the frozen lake. Finally, we like to do it all over again! My husband's favorite description of the home and the beautiful drive in is 'food for the soul'. This house is our getaway and is very near and dear to our hearts!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We were in Colorado to attend a friend's wedding. This cabin really did feel like our "home away from home". It is very beautiful, well maintained, and comfortable. We went for a walk around the lake and had some wonderful photo ops. The next time we find ourselves in the area, we will definitely be looking this place up again!

Beautiful place close to Denver for a nice weekend getaway. My wife and I spent a few days relaxing and couldn't have asked for more. Holly was very responsive and great to work with. Highly recommend.

Quiet, relaxing, and lots of great wildlife!

  • 4 of 5

The house itself was cozy and nicely decorated. We felt very comfortable and relaxed there. The lake and the surrounding mountains were amazing, and we loved watching all of the wildlife in the yard and at the lake. Holly was very helpful and easy to work with. The washed out road into the house had many potholes and ruts that were a bit of a challenge for our vehicle, as was the steep and narrow driveway. Those were the only negatives, however, in an otherwise wonderful stay.

Owner's Response: Hi there! Thanks so much for the compliments on the house! I'm so glad you had a nice stay and enjoyed yourself. I am very sorry that the road was troubling enough for you to deduct a star in your review. I have received many concerned phone calls since your review about the roads, so I thought I should address it. During your stay last year, The Colorado front range received unprecedented amounts of rain. The rain caused the higher elevated dirt road that feeds into our home's road to wash out somewhat and consequently created ruts. The road was grated and corrected many times last season, but the monsoons of rain just kept coming. I am happy to report the rain is gone and so are the ruts!:) This was a Mother Nature issue that was very uncommon in our geographic area. As for the narrow, steep driveway, no one has ever had this complaint before. The driveway is pretty typical for a home in the mountains. I realize the terrain must be quite different than the terrain you are accustomed to in Wisconsin. I, however, drive a Maxima most of the year to the home as many of our other guests are also in cars and minivans as 4 wheel drive vehicles really are not necessary. I have never had anyone complain or get stuck. Again, I am sorry for these issues if they took away from your trip in anyway. Thanks and take care.

A wonderful honeymoon spot!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I got married over Labor Day Weekend in Bailey and stayed here for 4 nights. Holly's home was clean, spacious, private and beautiful. We awoke each morning to see the midst rising off the lake. As we walked around the lake, we saw colorful finches feasting on thistle and hovering mountains in the distance. My brother in law also got to enjoy a bit of fishing. The owner, Holly was delightful to work with. She was responsive, available and flexible. I would highly recommend this to those looking for a nice get away location (great way to get away from the daily grind of internet, phone, etc.)

So amazingly peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We were amazed that such a beautiful home, such high-end decor, such serenity would be found at the end of a dirt road in the mountains in Colorado. The stone fireplace (insert) was so comforting and the view of the little lake was breathtaking. We appreciated a little tv during the thunder and lightening storm. It was a perfect weekend away from the city.
