Enjoy your New Orleans vacation at Chateau Esplanade. This 1860's home is located in the historic Faubourg St. John neighborhood. The area is safe and very pedestrian friendly with several neighborhood groceries, restaurants, cafes, and other attractions. Area attractions include St. Louis Cemetery, City Park, and the Street Car. The French Quarter is a five minute drive, or if you prefer, a 30 minute walk up Esplanade.
House has all the amenities. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to call me at (504)782-4917. Allen Lottinger
I live right down the street from this house and I can say without a doubt it is one of the nicest neighborhoods in New Orleans.
This house is historic and very large with six oversized bedrooms, each with a queen bed. Having the extra space makes your trip very comfortable and more enjoyable.
This location is spectacular for those who want to get just far enough of away from all the shenanigans of a busy weekend the French Quarter and have a lovely neighborhood feel with local bars and restaurants. The porch was a lovely place to sit and chat with passers-by. As other reviews have stated, there is only one shower, but that was not an issue for our group. The home is historic and shows its 'patina' in furnishings and decor, but everything was very comfortable. Allen was a gem in coordinating with our large group who had different arrival and departure times. Thank you Allen for the wonderful welcome gift of snacks and beverages!!
Traveled to NOLA for my 50th birthday. Had friends and family in from all over the country. 12 of us stayed at the house with others in neighboring locations popping in and out. Alan was a wonderful host. Gave us lots of information on places to eat and things to do. The house was awesome - the eclectic charm and personality of the house truly fits the New Orleans style and it met all of our needs for the trip. We had a little trouble with the public transportation, but that was only due to construction in the area. Having a car did come in handy. The guestbook was our favorite thing about the house. We had so much fun reading the stories and the trying to solve the clues others left behind. We would stay there again....and definitely would recommend the house to others, including friends and family .
This place was wonderful. It had everything we needed, and Allen was great. He met us at the house, gave us a tour, and was easily accessible with any questions. Allen went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He emailed a long list of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and grocery stores with our arrival instructions and even provided several groceries. I'd highly recommend this house.
The house is great old New Orleans. Allen was very helpful. We had a great stay.
I can't believe that Home Away would let anyone rent this place on their site. It has more fire hazards, filthy rooms, doors that don't open, doors that can't close, dirty linens and furniture, no utensils for eating, only a few plates, no outlets in the bathroom, insulation stuffed into openings in the walls and floors and doors, hair and dirt balls on the bathroom floor, table that hadn't been cleaned and took three cleanings to get the black dirt off o them, light bulbs missing in almost every room, temporary paper blinds for window coverings, an abandoned old car in the back yard--and believe me there is even more. We had to immediately go out and buy our own sleeping bags to put on the beds in order to stay one night before getting out in the morning and finding another place to stay. Now he is refusing to take our calls or return our money. Shame on all who were part of this scam.
This was a great home base for our trip to New Orleans. The house is huge and very comfortably accommodates a large group. Centrally located in a beautiful, tree lined neighborhood. Comfortable beds, big porch for sitting, and great, large living room. Allen, the owner, was a huge help and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommend.
As this was my first experience using the website, I was pretty wary about the place looking like the photos. Chateau Esplanade was excellent! The house and the rooms were much bigger than they looked in the photos. The house was clean and well cared for. The location was awesome and we had an amazing time and will definitely rent this property again. Lisa and Allen were awesome! They answered our questions and were available by phone when needed. There were plenty of restaurants and cafe's nearby and was close to the French Quarter. Would highly recommend Chateau Esplanade. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
