About Annie Bestwick
I am originally from Australia and moved to Calgary, Canada in 2002. In April 2008 I went on a surfing vacation to Costa Rica and fell in love with the country, its friendly people and laid back way of life. In July 2008 I moved back to Costa Rica and started working with a Costa Rican Travel Agency. This allowed me to continue traveling around the country and also to introduce the country to other people wanting to travel in Central America. I still work in the Travel Industry and now have my own company specializing in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, Costa Rica Unique and Boutique. I would be delighted to assist you in booking your travel plans in and around Costa Rica and Nicaragua
Annie Bestwick purchased this House in 2010
Why Annie Bestwick chose Cahuita
After traveling all over Costa Rica and living in San Jose I decided to move to the Caribbean Coast and Cahuita was the natural choice. It is a beachside community with the stunning combination of beautiful beaches surrounded by lush rain forest. There is an amazing National Park where you can see monkeys, sloths, iguanas, caimans and a variety of birdlife Cahuita is also known for its amazing snorkeling. I love the position of Casa Verde which is located just outside the village of Cahuita and is a short stroll or bike ride to restaurants, bars, beaches and yoga classes
What makes this House unique
I fell in love with Casa Verde because great access to the beach, the village of Cahuita but at the same time the gardens and hammock area provide a tropical respite from the every day world.

Charming local character house. Minutes from the beach and good food. Annie was helpful everyday.
We like the black sand beach and soothing roll of the waves and surf.
2 weeks stay
We didn’t have a car and didn’t need one. We were able to walk everywhere. The patio area was beautiful and we spent a lot of time there. Annie was a good and informative host.
Annie the owner was (is) Great, we had issues with our email and lost them all and ended up on the West coast 1st, by mistake. Annie was able to move our dates around and help save our trip. The place itself was beautiful and what we would imagine an authentic home here to be like. Very clean, secure and unique and Annie is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Casa Verde is immaculate! Very cozy and romantic.
Casa Verde is the best location in Cahuita for everything you plan on doing - beach is 3 minute walk, surfing lessons are 300 meters north, and then the Reggae Bar and Chao's Restaurant is another 500 meters north of that!
If you go south on the beach road, you can walk 5 minutes to be downtown for more restaurants and shopping. Cahuita National Park is just a little further on main street through Cahuita. Absolutely beautiful.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful if you are not too familiar with Spanish. Do not worry. They will help you.
Annie is very responsive and helpful. Do not hesitate to contact her for anything.
We loved our stay at Casa Verde and we are sure you will too!
Everything and more
Annie was an excellent host. Answered all questions & gave great advice on what to do. Recommend it highly. Would go back in the future
Cahuita is best known for its beautiful national Park. Admission is by donation and you can take a guided tour or just enter the park to go swimming at some of the beautiful beaches.
When sea conditions permit snorkeling is an excellent activity.
In high season I would recommend a visit to Tree of Life Wildlife Rescue Center. There is one tour every day ( except Mondays) at 11am. On the tour you will meet the various animals in the centre and hear how/why they were rescued and when/whether they can be returned to the jungle.
