It's truly ono of a kind. Growing up in the area, this property is native Chumash land. The property is where they came to collect oak corns to make their masa,(bread) Hunt and gather, they were a peaceful
community of native Americans Santa Barbara is the only South facing coastline on the Continent of North America, which gives it it's mild climate. It's been called the American Rivera. .Before the Spanish Conquistadors arrived, there was no desise. A true paradise, Now te Chumash have a Casino 25 min. from the villa. The villa was built with old world tecnics. All the stone used in the construction was hand quarried, and hand chilsed from the ground it rests on.The roof tiles are over 100 years old, by Mexican women by forming the sheets of red adobe clay over their legs, you can still see the strokes from their finger tips on several of the tiles. All the wood beams are hand carved and 30 percent of the wood used in the villa is from dismantoled old public buildings from the area. The pizza oven's main inner components are from Florance, Italy, as well as the granite and travertne used throughout the villa.
Serenity, complete privacy, and spectacular 360 degree views. Transforms your state of mind.Any resources requested can be provided.Your privacy and experience will be diligently protected and facilitated. Sincerely,

An impressive house with even more impressive views. We loved gathering around the pizza oven and the oversized fireplace. The pool was spectacular as was the grounds surrounding the estate. It was close to town for those who want it, but also very secluded and private. Loved our time there.
I've been to some pretty spectacular weddings over the years, medieval chapels in the English Cotswolds, an ancient castle in Bosnia, a chateau in Normandy, but this estate is the one I wish was mine. Handcrafted for the ages, this property is quite simply a work of art. Every window you stop before, every nook you settle in, offers a view worthy of the grandmasters. The oak grove that surrounds the villa is literally magical. We spent the vast majority of our weekend enjoying the property but we did venture out to hike an old Chumash trail and sample the local tri-tip. In all, a perfect weekend at a perfect venue.
Not only is the massive Tuscan villa a work of art, but the 25 acre property has hundreds of beautiful oak trees that may be even more beautiful than the home. Perfectly maintained with every amenity you need, this is a unique experience in Santa Barbara. Highly recommended
We rented the property for several days and we had a large (almost 200 guests) event one of the evenings of our stay. John welcomed us so graciously and made sure we had everything we needed. The villa is immaculate and sits on top a hill with beautiful views from every angle. The infinity pool is spectacular. Our guests were extremely impressed with the property as well. It was the perfect space for us. John was very friendly and recommended some fun hiking trails and off the beaten place eateries. I would definitely rent this amazing property again!
As if the natural beauty of the grounds weren't enough, the house itself is one of the most beautiful I've ever been in. A real work of art. The attention to detail and the well maintained grounds made the trip worth every moment. I would have driven 5 times as far to stay in such a place. My Facebook page is now filled with as many pictures of the house as of my wife and friends who were there.
The pictures on the listing don't do the place justice. I'll definitely recommend it to my friends, but only if they promise to bring me with them.
This property was amazing. We had an incredible time. The view is breathtaking overlooking the channel islands and all of Santa Barbara and the pool is a true highlight. The property is serene and secluded perfect for spending time together. Santa Barbara is about 15 minutes down the hill. Los Olivos and the wineries are easily accessible over the hill. The grounds are within the Los Padres national forest and you are nestled within nature at the top of the ridge. We had 8 adults and 5 young kids and the living accommodations were very nice. Great for a reunion or family gathering where everyone can spend time together. The house is well designed and stayed cool inside despite being a hot summer weekend. The outside pool is refreshingly cool but out of the hottest summer months you should request to heat it- was perfect for us. There is a large outdoor space with wonderful views surrounded by starry nights. You are in the forest and nature so expect a few flying bugs. Too dry for mosquitoes but flies are around at dawn and dusk. Bring a can of outdoor fogger bug spray and the little flies will disappear. You also get deer running by the house and it is the best camping site without the camping that you can find. The outdoor area is really well designed with the sun setting between the outdoor portico and the house. John built this house and everything is well thought out. I had some reservations because of a negative review online and not being able to do a protected credit card transaction but it really worked out great and the property is ideal for a large group that wants to be together.
