About Owner/Property Manager

I am retired and was born in Manistee Presently I live in midmichigan. It is a fantastic, trouble free vacation home. My brothers built this cabin. Great place for a family with a pet.

Owner/Property Manager purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Michigan

You will love taking a walk through a nature park and arriving on a pristine Lake Michigan beach. Or take 4 mile drive to the beautiful small town of Manistee. It has 2 great public beaches as well as marinas and many small shops. Late summer and early fall it has some of the best salmon fishing in the country. Charter boats are available.

What makes this cabin unique

You will love the simplicity of this setting. It's in a quite setting with room to explore. Cable tv and all the comforts of home.

Exactly what we wanted--quiet, cozy, great cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin, it was exactly what we wanted. Secluded and very quiet, yet just 2 minutes from the Lake, and a few minutes more to Manistee. The beaches nearby were great, yet very few people. A great place to take our dog as well--we loved it, and will certainly book again.

We had such a great time here!! The area is beautiful and close to so many things. The cabin was great. It was very clean and comfortable!! We had bonfires every night , thanks for the endless wood supply🔥. We will definitely be back in the fall!! It's the best way to camp!

Wonderful getaway in the woods of northwest Michigan!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful getaway cabin for my family, including 3 children (ages 5, 7, 8) and our dog. It is an easy walk to the park and beach, and a 15 minute drive to the city beach (one that does and that does not allow dogs). The cabin was clean, ample sleeping space, full kitchen, and washer and dryer just in case. There was even a fire pit and wood, although we came home too late each night. Manistee has a smaller tourist presence than the surrounding towns (ie Pentwater, Luddington, Frankfort, Glen Arbor, etc), but it had restaurants and coffee shops and House of Flavors! An easy drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes also made for great sightseeing.

The owner was prompt with any questions and very pleasant and easy going in all correspondence. We would stay again!

Great Getaway for us and our dogs

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cabin! The location was perfect: a three minute drive to the county park that led to a nearly deserted beach front that we and our dogs enjoyed immensely. The cabin had everything we could hope for. It was clean, well appointed, and the deck made it the best cabin we have ever rented. The forest surroundings were peaceful and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, which included canoeing on the Pine River thanks to the owner's recommendation. We also enjoyed the fire pit, thanks to the owner who supplied wood. We very much appreciated being able to bring our dogs. We will be back for sure!

Great cabin

  • 5 of 5

I stayed with my family and had much room to spread out. The deck was wonderful for a peaceful morning breakfast. The location of this cabin couldn't be a quiet forest, but close to beach and town. Took a walk to Magoon Creek Park which has hiking trails, a picnic pavilion, and a practically private beach along Lake Michigan. We would definitely stay at this cabin again.

Great Cabin with Lots of Privacy

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is just as described - clean, outfitted with all the amenities you need, and offering a lot of privacy.

The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk away (we had brought our mountain bikes and rode there a couple of times). You have to cross one semi-busy road and then you enter an area where you can take a nice walk/ride through the woods to get there. Once at the lake, you will have to walk down a bit to get to the water (then back up when you are through which takes some effort). When we went, the weather was fantastic yet the beach was quite empty. At times it felt like our own private beach. You can also very easily drive to the beach in about 3 minutes, and there is a place to park right near where the path down to the water starts.

Though the cabin is pet friendly (and we brought our dog), there was no evidence that there had been any pets there. That's probably because the floors are either ceramic or wood. When we first got there, there was a faint smell of smoke, so the people before us must have been smokers, but the smell dissipated fairly quickly.

There was satellite TV, which we didn't use too much, and a VCR player with some VCR tapes to choose from. Also some games to play.

As another reviewer said, the Bungalow Restaurant was a good place to eat.

We took a day-trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes - about an hour away, which was worth doing.

This rental is totally worth it. We would definitely consider renting it again if we come back to the area.
