Close to all the Berkshires has to offer.
This is one of the most relaxing weekends my wife and I have had. The location of the cottage makes for easy accesss to fall colors and sights. Yes, the train came by close to midnight, but it was just a rumble. The glass art in the cottage is exquisite. The owner made the effort to turn on the lights as we would be arriving after dark. This care means a lot to someone coming to this area for the first time. If you arrive late, be sure to stop for groceries on the way. The sound of silence could be you are out of cell coverage! A welcome respite. If you use gps on your mobile, be sure you have it downloaded before you get near as you may lose coverage. Upstairs loft was cool. Music and videos for your pleasure.
This is a lovely cottage with beautiful views of the river. There are artistic touches throughout the house to add to the beauty of the place. My friend and I stayed here for a weekend in September and loved it. The hosts provided us with information about the surrounding areas. There are cute little towns and farms, and lots of beautiful places to visit nearby. Would definitely like to come back in the future sometime for a longer stay.
My boyfriend and I rented the cottage for a weekend get-away. It is located in the small town of Falls Village, close to multiple farms and vineyards. We spent our time relaxing, venturing out only to buy local produce and meats, as well as go wine tasting.
The cottage is very well maintained and clean. The owners clearly took great care in designing and decorating, and thus it has a comfortable "homey" feel. The space was more than enough for a single couple and could accommodate a second couple in the upstairs bedroom. The views of the river and surrounding trees are beautiful from bright french windows throughout the house. The bed and furniture are very comfortable. The owners are extremely responsive and professional. This was our first experience with VRBO and the owners made it a very easy process, which we really appreciate. Additionally, they supplied us with lists of stores, restaurants, and attractions in the area. We felt very well cared for and would certainly consider returning in the future.
My wife and I have stayed at numerous vacation spots over the years, and this house in Falls Village was our favorite. Attention to beauty in every detail made us feel like we were in a museum. Luxury bedding, bath supplies and well-stocked kitchen made us feel well cared for, even though we never met Mario or Danielle. Someone had clearly anticipated our every need. We especially appreciated the thorough and detailed instructions for how to use everything from the fireplace to the TV. Even where the light switches were located! The house is the last house on a quiet street, overlooking the river and a short walk to the great falls. Lots of small towns around to explore, and wonderful hiking on nearby sections of the Appalachian Trail. Train tracks run right behind the peaceful deck. We were thrilled when finally a train actually came by! Felt like little kids counting the cars. (Not to worry - we were there for four days and only saw one train go by).
And they have amazing weather there! Sunny and in the 60s or 70s everyday!
I stayed at this lovely property for three weekends in August of 2015. If you're looking for something off the beaten path that's incredibly quiet, well-maintained, comfortable, clean, and has owners who are attentive and care for their property, this is your place. Since no one was staying at the house during the week in between my three weekends, Danielle let me leave some personal items at the house in between stays, which was much appreciated. I had guests stay at the house with me on the various weekends, and Danielle was easy to work with to make those arrangements. This house serves as a good base to explore this hidden corner of rural CT.
While the pictures on VRBO provide an accurate view of the house, it is better than the pictures. With respect to value for your money, it doesn't get much better than this on VRBO. I'll be back!
This was our second stay at the cottage and it was a very warm welcoming return. The fireplace had been updated to gas and it is aesthetically enjoyable, efficient and convenient. Just like last time Mario and Danielle had provided all necessities in the kitchen and menus to local restaurants. The cabin was meticulously clean. It had been some time since our last visit but for some reason it gave us a feeling that we had just been there. Just a cozy place. Will return again! Thank you so much!!
