Located one block south of the Capitol in a historical building on the corner of Congress Avenue this property is walkable to all of downtown, the University of Texas, Paramount Theatre, 6th Street, and Lady Bird Lake. Perfect for Longhorn football games, Graduation, SXSW, ACL, Formula 1, MotoGP, Triathlons and Marathons.
Recently updated by award-winning designer Raquel Rhodes, the apartment sports wood floors, fabulous furniture, fresh paint colors, and incredible art from local artists. The kitchen is great for cooking for a small group and the bedroom has a comfortable queen bed with hotel quality sheets.
The apartment is just off of Congress Avenue - the main promenade in downtown Austin. Preservation Austin just created a free mobile app, called Historic Austin Tours, to guide you through Congress Avenue. The apartment is in the middle of the tour!
You can walk to awesome restaurants:
Quattro Gatti, Roaring Fork, Perry's, Ruth's Chris, Parkside, Backspace, Congress, Ranch 616, Franklin BBQ, Annie's, Bess Bistro...
Or all the bars on East 6th:
Blind Pig, Maggie Mae's, Rooftop, Midnight Cowboy...
Or the bars on West 6th:
Kung Fu Saloon, The Ranch, Molotov, Rattle Inn...
Or live music
Mohawk, Stubb's, The Parish, La Zona Rosa, Elephant Room, Ray's Backstage...
The list goes on...
The location can't be beat, far enough from 6th St so you can sleep but close enough that you always have something to do and don't have to worry about driving home.
Finally, the keyless door code lock makes check-in/check-out super easy!
We live down the street and enjoy Austin, music, art, food, and designing great spaces. We keep our lofts in tip top shape: clean and well-appointed. If you need any suggestions for dining, dancing, shows or live music just ask.
The restored 100 yr old long leaf pine wood floors... the stunning view of the Capitol... the unique pieces from the local art community
Lovely apartment! Exactly as described and pictured. Having a code for the door was great. Recommend if you have an event downtown or are active and want to rent bikes. No need for a car.
This place we fantastic! Cool little modern (but cozy) condo right in the middle of everything! My husband and I were traveling to Austin for a football game and decided to stay here for our first trip.
We were just a few blocks away from the UT stadium in one direction, and a few blocks from all the action on 6th Street in the other direction. Tons of restaurants, bars, music, etc. in walking distance.
The condo had a super comfy bed - which is a total bonus when on vacation! Comforter, sheets, towels, etc. were all very comfortable, crisp + clean, and so soft. The place is small but very efficiently laid out with just what you need - not cluttered at all. The own provided great service, and made sure we had codes to get in and access the wi-fi.
The only complaint we had... the TV didn't have ESPN/College Game Day! :)
Great place to stay and will definitely be back again!!
I had to be in Austin for a work function for just one day but all the hotels in the city were booked. I was told to check out this site and found a perfect hidden jewel in the city. The condo description was spot on. The owner was very quick to answer all of my questions about the rental, the area, and he even text me a picture of where we could park the car across the street and not worry about getting a ticket or towed. He made the process so easy from the first email asking about the condo to checking in and out. The condo was located with in walking distance of everything downtown had to offer. Not only was it a perfect location (there is a Starbucks right on the corner) but the view of the State Capital from the front room was amazing. The condo was beautiful! It was extremely clean and bright and had everything you could need for a stay in Austin. When we arrived you could tell right away this condo is loved and cared for! Even the neighbors were friendly and welcomed us to the city and said they hope we enjoy the stay. The owner has local magazines and books about what is going on in the city and that was a great way to discover shops and restaurants. I would recommend staying here to anyone who wants to come to Austin. I will be the first to admit I am always one to stay in a hotel when I am out of town but the next time I come to Austin I hope that this rental will be available for my stay again. I have a feeling once this amazing place gets attention it will be hard to find an open time! I have only been back to work for two days since I stayed in the condo and have told everyone about it. I just want to say my time and stay in Austin was amazing and this condo made it a trip I will never forget! Can't wait to come back to Austin and stay here again!!!
This row of townhomes is located in the middle of everything. Walking distance to Lady Bird Lake, restaurants, and the State Capitol complex - yet quiet enough for a great night’s sleep. I especially loved the historic architecture, rare in a modern city like Austin.
This condo was very comfortable and clean, and the owners were very nice people willing to help with whatever needs I had. They met me right on time and there were no issues getting settled in. The unit was very quiet as far as neighbors go, but unfortunately a bus stop across the street was a source of a bit of noise. A curtain is all that separates the bedroom from the front room, so heavy sleepers should be fine but if you're a light sleeper there might be an occasional waking up to noise in the early morning (but if you're a morning person that ought to be okay). That said, the bed itself was very comfortable (perhaps the best feature of the apartment overall) with nice fluffy soft sheets/duvet.
The kitchen is slightly small but usable (no dishwasher, though). The bathroom is comfortable, except for the shower, unfortunately, which was extremely small (a sort of dorm-like shower about the square width of my shoulders, and I am a fairly skinny person). Functional, but don't plan on a luxurious bath or large shower to relax in after going out; this was the only real disappointment.
The decor was cool with guitars on the wall and a music-oriented theme. The owners set out various Austin-related magazines and menus for restaurants nearby. The location is pretty ideal; walkable to many attractions on 6th St and N Congress, and easily drivable to S Congress and other attractions. Also very walkable to downtown offices if you are in town for work.
If you have a car, there is only street parking (feed the meter) during the day, but after 5PM there is a free lot across the street. I actually took a chance and left my car by the meter for a week and didn't receive a ticket, though I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.
All in all a very nice stay. I hope the owners will consider allowing dogs to stay in the future though, since Austin is such a wonderful town for dogs to visit.
