I am Beverly Taylor, a retired teacher, school principal and assistant superintendent of education in Pike County, AL. After retiring in 1989, my husband, Johnny (manager with Coca Cola), and I purchased rental property in the college town of Troy. We absolutely love owning and renting residential, recreational and commercial property. We both enjoy people and bought our first PCB Condo in 1999, so we are very experienced in providing quality service to our tenants. We now own TWO condos in Panama City Beach. (501 Calypso, 1007 W. Calypso.We reside in our beach house most of the tije in Panama City Beach and because of this, we are right at hand should our guests need us. Our wonderful housekeeper resides full-time about two miles from our condos. . We have two sons and daughters in laws (David & Michelle) and (Jamie & Lyndsay). We also have seven grandchildren who all reside within ten miles of our Goshen, AL. home.

Why Beverly Taylor chose Panama City Beach
We bought 1007 W Calypso in 2010 and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience, so when this two bedroom deluxe condo with approximately 1300 sq ft became available, we were excited to add it to our inventory. The fifth floor offers excellent views of the sugar sandy beach and pools as well as spectacular views of the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Calypso is adjacent to the new pier which is so long that it compares to deep-sea fishing. It is at the pier that the spectacular fire-works and other shows are held on the fourth of July and New Year's. Calypso is beautiful with its lovely columns and Caribbean colors. It is in the premier location and it is well-managed and maintained.

Across street from Pier Park and its shops such as Ron Jon's Surf, Dick's Last Resort, Margaritiville's, Tootsie's, Penny's, Dilliards, the Grand Theater and Mircle Strip (a kiddie park) During season (March 15 thru Oct. 31) we provide free beach service to ours guests. This free beach service includes two padded chairs and one large umbrella set up daily by the beach attendant. Minutes from the NW Florida Beaches International Airport Adjacent to the new pier where the most spectacular shows occur and the fishing is fun Close to Gulf World and Frank Brown Park. Covered Parking (with secure cross over) is across the street and is free to our tenants We have beach attendants on site who set up (during season) two padded beach chairs and one large umbrella for our tenants. We provide this service for our guests free of charge. If our guests desire more chairs/umbrella, they would coordinate with the beach attendant for such services at guest additional personal expense. We use the electronic door lock system which allows us to issue you an entry door code when you are paid in full. In this way, you are on instant vacation when you arrive at check in time on your arrival date.. There is no waiting in line to check in or out. We offer three night minimums stays.

Our stay was wonderful! The unit was ready precisely when we were promised. It was very clean and I love the fifth floor location right next to the stairs. It made it easy for my family to go beach or pool without having to wait for an elevator. On our last day we had one minor issue, Beverly and Johnny were there to fix it immediately even though I assured them I would be fine. It was very nice knowing that they were only a quick phone call away. I would not hesitate to rent from them again knowing that when things occur they would be taken care of immediately. Great location, but property not well kept.
The property was in great location, but it was not well kept. We had to clean the bathrooms. The shower curtain in guest bedroom had mold and mildew on it. You could visible see it had been there for a while. In the Master bedroom, the shower had mold and mildew in the corners. The furniture(drawers broken) and the appliances needed to be updated. However, the fridge looks newer than all the appliances. When we arrived, there was an issue with access to parking area. We tried to reach owner but with no success. We were, however. helped by the property manager. Like I mention above, the property is in a great location and would be a nice place to stay if it was maintained properly. I suggest that whomever you have to keep this property maintained be adviced on these areas to keep clean. And the furniture need to be replaces because most was clipped and worn. Our stay was July 12-July 17, 2019.
We appreciate all reviews. We have been using a new parking process at Calypso Resort for about nine months and this is the only guest that I know of who has experienced any problem entering and exiting the parking garage due to the scannable gate codes that I authorize. Also, I am known for being extremely easy to reach and responsive. So sorry this guest was unable to reach me, but thankful that the property patrol assisted this guest. Our staff at Calyoso is very attentive and helpful. This is a very nice spacious condo on the perfect fifth floor and the refrigerator is about one year old and the other appliances look nice, are clean and all in good workable order. The kitchen is huge and well arranged. I have addressed the cleaning issues mentioned but it is hard to get to the bottom of issues that come to my attention from 20 days ago. We reside at the beach less than two mikes from this condo. We could have immediately addressed these issues had we just been reached. Please read other reviews that we have received. I have earned the designation of being a premier partner, meaning that I have been rated by Homeaway as an outstanding host. I take my responsibility as a host very seriously and am in shock to receive a two star review when 99.9% of my reviews are 5 star review. In spite of the rating by this guest, I am more concerned that this guest was not pleased with their stay. I suppose that since they were unable to reach me upon arrival, that they thought I could not be reached. I am just so sorry about this and had I just known in time I could have called my cleaner back in to rectify cleaning issues.

Overall a nice place but could use better outdoor furniture.
The only complaint we really had was the outdoor furniture is kind of in bad shape plus the height of it is not very good you can't see over or under the rail you're looking directly at the rail so it either needs to be higher as in bar stool Heights or much shorter.
We ask all those considering this property to read all our reviews which are almost totally 100% five stars. This condo is very spacious and very well kept. We have painted the frames of some of the balcony furniture but we believe that it is safer for the small children. to have standard height balcony furniture rather than the tall type that this guest seems to prefer. We do appreciate this review as we do all reviews. We do not agree that the two star rating accurately reflects the quality of this condo. We are indeed sorry that this guest thought we had earned a two star review. We live at the beach and would have gladly met with the guest and or responded to any complaints while the guests were in the property. It was disappointing that we did not have a chance to make the stay more pleasant for this guests.
The beaches of Panama City Beach, Florida are known world-wide to be the most beautiful because of the emerald water, white capped waves, and the sugar white sandy beaches. This Calypso Condo is the most ideal location in all of Panama City Beach. CALYPSO IS DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET FROM PIER PARK WHICH HAS MORE THAN 200 SHOPS, RESTAURANTS, AND STORES SUCH AS DILLIARDS, PENNYS, TARGET, THE GRAND THREATRE, ETC. THIS PARK PROVIDES TRUE 'SHOPPING' OPPORTUNITIES.The pier which is adjacent to Calypso is so long that it compares to deep sea fishing.
GULF WORLD WHICH IS A WORLD-CLASS ACQUARIAN IS WITH 1/3 MILES OF CALYPSO. FRANK BROWN PARK IS VISIBLE FROM CALYPSO. THIS PARK HOST BALL TEAMS FROM THE WORLD OVER. AARON BISSERT PARK IS 1/3 MILE FROM CALYPSO. ST ANDREWS MARINER IS ABOUT 15 MINUTE DRIVE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS OPPORTUNITIES TO GO DEEP SEA FISHING AND/OR CHARTER A DINNER CRUISE.
