My wife and I never got a honeymoon since we had an 8 month old, 10 years later we decide to finally have some alone time, I did some research and found this property to rent for a few days, the place was perfect and we plan on coming back every year!!
Our family had a great time.. The home was fantastic and the pics in the website was exactly accurate. We had access to a washer and dryer and the hot tub was a nice touch , we were there for 5 nights and we were able to also use the Movie Room on a rainy night. My family and I recommend this property.
Stayed for 3 nights in January with 1 other couple. The house was clean and spacious, the Saw Creek amenities were awesome. It is a wonderful place to gather. Vadim was very accommodating and checked up to make sure we had all the things we needed. Thanks again.
We've had a good week. We've spent most of our time exploring the Delaware National Forrest exploring water falls & hiking trails. The house was as described and had everything we needed.
The house had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend and the movie room was a nice touch.
This property seems well-priced, but by the end of our stay we realized it's overpriced for what it is. It's fairly run-down, and almost every little thing about it is baffling or annoying. All of us agreed that a little more thought and investment would make this a great cabin.
One of the first annoyances was the lack of a shovel even though this is a mountain cabin with a steep driveway (we got a reply about this halfway through our stay saying it's in a crawl space none of us could find - perhaps in the locked basement?). Several lights were nonfunctional, so the central room was darker than it should have been - we ended up generally avoiding it for this reason. The linoleum floors aren't just cheap-looking, they got really slippery when snow tracked in (there is no doormat in the entrance by the hot tub). Most of us slipped, some several times. Speaking of the hot tub, it heats up verrrry slowly because it's only 110 volts. It took 18 hours to go from 90 degrees to 100 degrees, then dropped to lukewarm within 30 minutes of using it. Waste of a 75 dollar hot tub surcharge :( We were only provided with one smallish towel a person, even though the manager knew we were going to use the hot tub - WTF is the reasoning behind that? The fireplace is a LIE, it's not functional and there is no option to make it functional. The fact that the fireplace is mentioned in the description seems intentionally misleading (manager - if you're reading this, do the right thing and remove it). There is no shower curtain in one of the bathrooms, just a clear shower liner. This looks shoddy and would be unacceptable for a 1 star hotel, let alone a moderately priced vacation home. The projector area is awesome and we used it quite a bit, but it's in the brightest area of the cabin and there's no window curtain to block the sun. We had to leave our use of it to the evening.
OK, I realize that was a very negative review, but please understand the cabin unequivocally deserves it: I've stayed in well over ten vacation rentals and this ranks near or at the bottom. There isn't any single glaring issue, but everything adds up to make it a needlessly uncomfortable stay. That said, there are some good things about it. The location near NYC and mountains is nice. The kitchen was very functional and well-stocked. Projector was great. The manager was reasonably receptive to e-mails, both before and during the stay (although the security deposit took 3.5 weeks to arrive...).
