Ken and Sheila Pyle. We have owned cabins in the area for 25 years. We both worked for AT&T for over 35 years each, and are now retired.
Ken Pyle purchased this cabin in 2006
We love the Chimney Rock/ Lake Lure/Bat Cave area. Great folks in the area, which is relaxed and beautiful. We are centrally located to enjoy a variety of activities
Jill Lockhart, who lives in Bat Cave near the cabin, manages our property and is there locally to insure you have a delightful experience at The River View Cabins.
Easty access to the river. Fish, tube and play in the river, right at your back door.
Restful and relaxing you can't beat the location. Have been coming back for over 10 years. The river is perfect. You can do as little or as much as want. You can fish out the back door. Close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and asheville for shopping to keep the wife happy
I most certainly enjoyed my stay while visiting from out of state. It was fantastic and I have many photos of the gorgeous views and bold streams. I spent many hours lounging outdoors while listening to the water flowing endlessly downstream and stared at the single cloud in the most beautiful of blue skies. The birds would sing to me in the morning as I quietly sipped my morning coffee so not to disturb the baby deer nearby. I walked through downtown and the many shops with everyone stopping to talk to me and ask about where I was from. It is so friendly in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. I actually purchased land there after my brief visit and plan to build my very own someday soon. Everyone should come visit.
Staying at Ken's cabin was a fantastic experience. The cabin was extremely clean, well organized and in a prime location. I will certainly be staying at the cabin again and encourage everybody else to do so.
The applehouse was perfect for our trip celebrating our 45th anniversary! After driving eight hours, we were able to relax and enjoy the comforts of home while being only minutes from local attractions and beautiful vistas. The decor is so much fun and listening to the Rocky Broad River really soothing. I highly recommend. Caretaker was prompt and courteous, too.
This was the perfect cabin and location for a family mountain get away trip! Morning coffee overlooking the Broad River can't be beat! Very clean and comfortably furnished. Thanks so much for sharing your mountain cabin with us! We just loved our stay there!
What a great place! It was everything and more than I could have hoped for. Whether you're looking for an escape from reality or some great adventures, this is a great place to go.
My family & I had a great time in Bat Cave. The cabin was very cozy. Fireplace was great. The huge enclosed porch overlooking the river was perfect for the kids to play games and for the adults to relax and wake up with a great view while waking up with a cup of coffee in the am.
The cabin is located just a few miles from Chimney Rock one way and only a few miles from Moonshine Mountain where my kids & I had a great day of mountain tubing.
On the drive back to Fl the kids kept trying to "work a deal" to go back next year. I`m fairly certain they had a great time as well.
We are in the Western North Carolina mountains near both Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Park.
We are also within 15 miles of Hendersonville, Asheville and Black Mountain, as well as within reasonable driving distance to several white water rafting rvers.
