I am a Certified Process Server for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit, Sarasota, FL. I was a Certified Legal Assistant for a local litigation attorney for 11 years. Semi-retired now and love growing my orchids. Spending time at the lake with my Grandsons and family fishing on my Sea-Doo. I love fishing and traveling.
Beverly Taylor purchased this house in 2006
My family has owned property at Badin Lake since 1954. They loved the area. I bought this home because of the lake view and my love of fishing. My Mom and Dad wanted to retire here but Cancer chose a different path for them.
Quiet and relaxing. Lots of time for fishing. Bass fishing tournaments year round. Great location for numerous 'DAY TRIPS'. Emerald mines, NC State Zoo, Charlotte/Lowe's Motor Speedway, golfing, hiking, biking, Search for Big Foot in the Uwharrie National Forest, or just sit on the porch and read a good book. Then take a walk. The woods are beautiful. Especially in fall.
Thank you --- Thank you --- Thank you!
This note is LONG overdue and for that I apologize. In getting home
after a wonderful two week vacation I've found it very difficult to get
back into a routine of everyday life --- but I must.
On behalf of Stew, Dorothy, Chris and myself, I want to truly thank you
for allowing us to share your beautiful home on Badin Lake. We were
thrilled with what we saw when we pulled into your driveway. Everything
about our stay was fantastic and our memories will live on forever.
Your house was so much more than we were expecting, especially the
awesomely stocked kitchen. Everything was great. The rooms were spacious,
exceptionally clean, beautifully furnished, very comfortable and all had a
welcoming feel of home about it. You provided everything we needed and
more. The guys sure enjoyed your theatre seating around the TV and the gas
grill outside. The laundry facilities were fantastic and served us well.
While the internet gave us a little trouble at the beginning, you took care
of that quickly and without any inconvenience to us. We enjoyed everything
about the house and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a
"home" in that area.
Thank you so very much for all your kindnesses, courtesies and
generosity in sharing your wonderful home with us Minnesotans. We all
agreed that you live in a beautiful area.
Chris and Linda, Stew and Dorothy
PS: Make sure that HomeAway.com knows that your place is a true winner in
our book; the best we've stayed in yet.
My family from MI, FL and LA all went to NC for a family wedding. We were able to spend quite a bit of time together at Beverlys rental. It had all the comforts of home, we were able to cook dinner together, and relax on her screened in porch. afterward. The kitchen was WELL stocked, there was no need to buy, spices , coffee or condements. The short walk to the lake was jus a perfect way to start our day.
Thank you Beverly for making our stay, a lasting family memory that will be treasured
What a great place to stay! We were able to stay at Beverly's place for our son's graduation at Pfeiffer University. I wish we knew about her place 4 years ago! As mentioned in previous reviews, Beverly definitely makes sure your time at her house is a very enjoyable stay. The house is equipped with everything, from the bed linens and towels to a well equipped kitchen. And there is the view of the lake! We couldn't ask for a more pleasant stay at Badin Lake. Even though our son is an alumni of Pfeiffer, I do believe we will be coming back to visit Badin Lake and stay at Beverly's house! Thanks you again for a great weekend!
Me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house, it was alot bigger than the pictures showed. Everything was clean and neat and we enjoyed relaxing and fishing and getting away for a while. Will definitely try to stay again in the future, Thank you again Mrs. Beverly
The owner makes the difference. Her hospitality is top notch. She bent over backwards to accommodate my family and I. The home is just as special offering a gorgeous view of the lake both at sunrise and sunset. The sleep number bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get out of bed. We cooked several meals there and it was great. We will definitely be back again. Next time we will go hiking in the Uwharrie National Forest. Thanks for such a relaxing Thanksgiving vacation. Blessings
Needed a place of quiet, this fitted the bill perfectly. Very well equipped, nice quality, homely and comfortable. Owner exceptional, kind, welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Sadly our trip was caught up with torrential rain, so lake views & walkes were out of the question. Thank you Beverly.
Let me break this review down into two parts. One part being that which Beverly, the owner, can control and the other part being that which she can not control.
That which she can control :
Beverly"s home is very very comfortable. If I wasnt an honest person she would be two pillows short right now. Great master bedroom bed and pillows. Lots of things in the cabinets available to use. The home is really outstanding and we really enjoyed it. It is a hoot when the little iRobot takes off and starts doing the carpet!
The drive way needs some serious work. And, Beverly is on it. To park your boat like shown in the picture, you must take the first entrance. That entrance is made up of 6 to 7 inch deep loose gravel and sand. As soon as the back wheels of my two wheel drive hit it I started to spin and sunk like a lead weight. I was never able to get my truck and boat up that entrance. So that means you go down to the second entrance and try to maneuver your truck and trailer in that way. VERY tight turns, lots of backing and going forward....not good. But, when I told Beverly the trouble I was having she had the drive way installer come out and check it out. Both ends are going to be widened. If you have a two wheel drive truck, I would recommend you take the second entrance. Cudos to Beverly for taking immediate action.
She cant control :
The boat launch area is a challenge too. The dock itself is extremely small and if you are launching by yourself, I recommend to launch...pull up on shore to right of dock as you face it....and tie off with a 50ft rope to a tree. If you tie to the dock you are blocking everyone else trying to launch. This is key because you CAN NOT park at the launch area. You have to drive back up the road and park in a designated area then walk back. No biggie if two people.....pain in the patootie for one.
Restuarants. There basically are none. There is a place called the Family Rest. but it was closed every evening I was there. I got some info across the street from a hardware/grocery store about a resort place that wasnt expensive and close. Visit them for directions. Good food...reasonable price.
Not counting the drive way, we really did enjoy our stay and REALLY hope to go back. Beverly indicated she would send me some pics of the drive way mods. Looking forward to them. I hate recommending places because they become so popular I can never get back in. But Beverly is great...the place is great.
