Bolton Landing Lodge Rental Photos and Description

8 bedroom Lodge (sleeps 16) and 3 bedroom guest Chalet (sleeps 6) maximum 22

Originally built as a year round hunting and fishing compound, Alderbrook Lodge provides all the comforts of home. Nestled between mountains and streams, this charming 100 acre retreat, includes

it's own hiking mountain and overlooks a private ten acre stocked pond. Perfect for those who love peace and quiet. The Lodge is secluded without being inconveniently remote. It is only a few minutes drive to either Bolton Landing or Lake George. The Lodge hosts 8 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths and the guesthouse, called the 'Chalet', is only a stone's throw away. The Chalet has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Alderbrook Lodge is an ideal choice for large groups or family reunions.

The Lodge - Guests are welcomed by a large center stone fireplace, which divides the Great Room into four areas. The walls are a warm knotty pine with matching beamed ceilings. A twelve point deer, in seasonal attire, oversees the activities in both living and dining areas.

The Kitchen - The kitchen is fully-equipped for large groups. Large cooking utensils, a Garland Stove with double ovens, a dishwasher, microwave, and two refrigerators all aid in effortless entertaining. Truly, a gourmet's delight!

The Dining Area - A large round table is next to an eating counter, which seats eleven. Dining on the porch is also available.

The Porch - The large wrap-around porch is a favorite gathering place. A perfect spot for games, meals, or just socializing. In any season, the VIEW of the mountains and the water is both comforting and relaxing!

Upstairs - A wide wood and bark stairway leads to Eight Bedrooms on the second floor. There are two full baths and one half bath. Sheets and towels are provided at an extra cost. A washer and dryer are on the first floor. The maximum number of guests is 16, including children.

Guest Chalet - At an additional cost, a three bedroom, two bath chalet can be rented for larger groups. Maximum for the Chalet is 6 guests, making the total for both properties. (22 people)

Barn - Available for horses.

Alderbrook Lodge offers a wide variety of winter activities. Guests can enjoy the warmth of a blazing bonfire and a hot drink, as they ice skate, snowshoe or ice fish on the lake. Others delight in sleigh riding, tobogganing, cross-country skiing or snowmobiling on groomed, scenic trails. Alpine skiers can dance through the moguls at West Mt, Hickory Hill or Gore Mt. Come and watch the snowflakes fly, and relax in our undiscovered Winter Wonderland.

About Owner/Manager

We have always loved the Adirondacks and feel blessed that we found this little piece of paradise. We have 4 married children and 14 grandchildren. The 'Lodge' is a perfect gathering place for the children and the 'Chalet' is a perfect 'get away' for Gigi and Papa. It is our pleasure to share our home with friends from HomeAway.

Owner/Manager purchased this lodge in 2001

Why Owner/Manager chose Lake George Area

After years of looking, we found Alderbrook Lodge. It is totally unique and offered us the space that we needed for both family and friends. It is rare to find a private,100 acre property, that is so close to Lake George, yet totally private. The lake is beautiful and the frosting on the cake!

What makes this lodge unique

We have made every effort to make our family and friends comfortable from the minute they walk through the door. The furniture is comfortable and the rooms are nicely decorated, but geared for children and large family gatherings. Alderbrook Lodge is the perfect place for a family reunion.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We were there last weekend!! We were a family of 7. Until now, my children and my friends are still talking about going back. My 3 girls thought that it would be nice to stay there forever! They had their first kayaking and boating experience there and they LOVED it! We had total privacy and so much freedom to do anything we want to do with the water, in and out of the house. My husband and his friends (husbands of my female friends ) went biking around the area. We didn't even have to go elsewhere to have fun because it was already so much fun being in Alderbrook Lodge. We liked the fact that we had the water and the boats to ourselves and we didn't have to worry about paying it by the hour. The bonfires and our night swims were something we haven't done in other places we've stayed in our previous vacations. Being able to commune with nature was such a relief from the stressful life we have in the city. The calmness of the water and the woods with all its different natural sounds were so contagious. We honestly didn't want to go home. The long drive from Virginia was worth it! Lynn and Ed were such gracious owners. Thank you!! again so much for sharing your property with us and contributing to another unforgettable weekend getaway. -- Jun & Jovieh (from Alexandria, VA)

Beautiful, peaceful, Adirondack setting

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived I felt this was going to be a peaceful, relaxing haven. The smell of pine hit me as soon as I stepped out of the car. Adirondack chairs were ready for us to sit by the water and the fire pit was stoked with wood ready for our family to gather around to enjoy the evening together. We utilized both the Chalet and the Lodge which provided enough space for our group. For dinners we gathered inside the Lodges screened in porch which accommodated all 15 so we could eat together. In the evenings it turned into a game room after enjoying the fire pit. Our family is very active, swimming, hiking and exercising so we were very happy to spend most of the time on site enjoying the lake and property to its fullest. But if we wanted to venture off, Alderbrook Lodge is about 5 minutes away from Bolton Landing and about 15 minutes from Lake George Village. Thank you for a great time...oh, and the raspberry's were delicious and plentiful.

Amazing weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My first impression when we drove down the stone road and saw this place was "Wow, it's even better than I expected it to be" and as you can see from the photos, that seems tough to beat. Then I met Lynn and Ed, who both rose my expectations even further. This place really is a hidden gem, and the hospitality we were given from the owners was out of this world. I booked this place for my brother and his wedding party for a "send off", and he couldn't be more satisfied. So for me, that was a huge win. If you are questioning whether or not your should book, just do it, you will NOT regret it.

Alderbrook Lodge Lives up to its billing

  • 5 of 5

Alderbrook Lodge was an ideal spot for our family gathering of 18 ( 2 Grandparents, 3 children and their spouses, and 10 grandchildren ranging in age from 6 months to 15 years). We arrived to a very clean lodge with a nice little welcoming gift form owners Lynn & Ed. The layout of the down stairs provided gathering spots for the different generations with a fire place for the colder evenings. From the L-shaped screened in porch one could sit and look over the waterfront. It also had space for 2 large tables at which our large group could have meals. A cabinet on the porch had lots of games and puzzles. The kitchen had 2 large refrigerators and an industrial strength stove and oven. Even the stairs to the bedrooms are worth noting. Each bedrooms had their own theme and were very welcoming. Alderbrook Lodge provided something for everyone; from just relaxing (if that is possible with 10 grandkids running around), to swimming, to fishing (2 good size trouts were caught), to paddle boat races, to a quiet paddle in a canoe. The pond was big enough to allow the older kids to explore but small enough to keep a close eye on the younger one and the water was temperature was warm enough so that the 6 month old could enjoy splashing while sitting on the sandy bottom. The lawn was equipped with numerous Adirondack chairs to provided a pleasant perch to enjoy all the activities. And the fire pit was great for campfires and lots of som-morers. Although we were hesitant to leave this wonderful enclave, the location was convenient to both Bolton Landing and Lake George Village. It was a little longer drive but we also took a day to hike a couple of the Adirondack peaks. One group hiked one of the high peaks (Giant Mt.) and another group hike one a little less challenging but had a spectacular view from the fire tower at the top (Goodnow Mt.). [There were books in the lodge describing the hikes]. In summary , Alderbrook Lodge was a "Great Place for our Family Gathering."

Father's Day what a trip! Each year all the dad's and kids in the family get together to Camp or "Glamp". This year was Alderbrook - Best Year Ever!!! Pictures don't compare to the natural beauty of the surroundings. Thanks to the owners for extending such a warm welcome. We are already trying to get back! 5 star recommendations!!!

Best...weekend...ever!!!

  • 5 of 5

Just spent an amazing weekend at Alderbrook lodge! The house was incredible. Perfect, secluded location. Went for my brothers bachelor party and the guys had a blast. Plenty of space. Wi fi internet and dish TV which was an added bonus. We spent a ton of time fishing/canoeing/kayaking on the pond. And as a home cook I was thoroughly impressed w the kitchen/stove set up. The owners were super accommodating (even set up the fire pit for us!) and very friendly. Can't recommend it enough!!!
