Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 (3 very young children) arrived to find the cottage clean and in order. We had a good view of the lake. Everything was as described on the website. We met Joan, co-owner of the property, when we checked in. Joan was extremely friendly and helpful. All of our correspondence with the owners was prompt and professional. We truly enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. We mainly spent all of our time outdoors during the day, so we were mainly home only at night. The location is ideal for the Empire area. The cottage is under mature trees and the new windows made the place very comfortable. A few things to note: When the description instructs you to bring all of your paper products, food, and other basic kitchen disposables, they mean just that. Our family assumed (our fault) that there might be napkins or trash bags, or basic amenities like salt or pepper, but there was none. In past rentals small things like that were included, so to be very, very clear, we assumed some things that we should not have. The description was completely accurate and I just write this as a heads up to help others not make the same mistake we did. Another thing to note, the rooms are small, so there is no room for a pack-n-play in any of them. We just put our youngest to bed on our bed and then when we went to bed we transferred her to her pack-n-play that we had set up in the living room. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested and would return ourselves.

I am not sure this is the same place that we stayed, however , my sons and I stayed at #4 at shady shores and we had the time of our lives. It was small, but suit us to a tee! This was the last week of July, 05. Tin
