Villa Talenti stands on a hillside in the elegant and unspoiled historic spa town of Bagni di Lucca. The residence is set magnificently within the splendid green and tranquil Tuscan countryside. Villa Talenti is only 150 meters from Terme Bagni Caldi, the famous thermal baths dating back to the Etruscan and Roman ages, and a romantic path takes you on a 5 minute walk to the piazza in Ponte a Serraglio.
The villa is named after the Tuscan family Talenti, that lived there for centuries and dates back to 1740 when the Bagni Caldi, the thermal springs, were at their heights of fame. Bagni Caldi has always been a popular destination for many illustrious visitors, from Pascoli to Shelley, Lord Byron to Puccini and Napoleon, Tsar Demidoff, Couperus to Henry James. Often they stayed in this healthy environment for weeks on end.
The villa has gone through a 5 year ground up restoration, retaining all the original features while featuring modern wiring, plumbing and central heating.
The piazza in Ponte a Serraglio, with restaurants, a gelateria, bars, shops and art galleries are all only a few minutes walk from the house. The nearest supermarket is 1.5 km away.
Villa Talenti sets the stage for tranquillity and serenity during your stay in Bagni di Lucca and is a good starting point for beautiful touristics trips.
Villa Talenti is located in a ideal position to reach the Garfagnana mountains, reknowned for its white marble sources. It is 20 km from the medieval city of Lucca, the Versilia coast, the Cinque Terre and major cultural cities like Florence, Pisa and Siena.
Villa Talenti is divided into four delightful apartments with capacities ranging from 2 to 6 persons, recently renovated and furnished to create a warm and authentic Tuscan atmosphere.
Please note that there is no swimming pool access.

We are a couple that share a common love and appreciation for Italy and all things Italian. Rosaly is Brazilian/Italian and Christian is Norwegian.
Rosaly Palma Torvnes purchased this apartment in 2011
We fell deeply in love with Bagni di Lucca and Villa Talenti when we first visited the place in 2011. We now travel to visit the area whenever we can.
Magnolia consists of a spacious living room and 2 comfortable bedrooms in traditional Tuscan style. It has a brand new, well equipped kitchen with an abundance of sunshine during the morning hours. Quite recently, the apartment was upgraded with an iron wood stove.
The bathroom has twin wash basins, bathtub and a separate shower cabinet. There is a 36' flat screen with DVD/media system, satellite TV and a stable 7Mbps internet connection.
The apartment has a beautiful view over the green hills and the Lima river and offers all the comfort you could wish for. Right outside the apartment there are spacious terraces with BBQ, pergola, lawn and sitting area.
We stayed in the Magnolia apartment in Villa Talenti from 01.07. – 05.07.2014 with 4 adults.
First at all, the description of the apartment is according with the real situation. It is very spacious and cosy as it is described in the internet portal.
But we don´t want to fail to give feedback regarding 2 points:
1. In the bathroom above the mirror is black funghi, may be caused from a water damage. This is not acceptable.
2. The swimmingpool:
When we arrived, the way to the swimmingpool was open, water was in the swimmingpool and it seems, that it was possible to use the pool.
On the other side, there was an information in the corridor regarding using the pool that it was only allowed for the other apartments, but not for Mimosa and Mangnolia.
In our opinion are the rights of use of the swimming pool between the different owner is not clarified. On the other hand, you make marketing with the pool in the internet portal and using the pool is at least part of the price.
Your alternative with the public pool in Bagni di Lucca is not really a good alternative. We paid 16 Euro for 2 adults (entrée, bath cap,….).
We had a little trouble finding the Villa Talenti once we had reached Bangi di Lucca, We loved the Villa and the gardens and swimming pool, the Mimosa Apartment was comfortable and the views were spectacular. We enjoyed walking down to the village and having a drink or an ice cream and watching the world go by. We walked a lot, the countryside is beautiful and had a lovely relaxing week.
We didn't travel far but enjoyed exploring Lucca as well.
Definitely to be recommended.
We stayed in the Magnolia apartment in Villa Talenti at the end of June 2013. (2 adults and 2 children, aged 11 and 15). The apartment is very spacious with two lovely bedrooms, a large sittingroom/kitchen, large bathroom and a small utility room. The apartment was spotless and had everything needed (dishwasher, washing machine, clothes dryer, hair dryer, etc). There is no air conditioning but it is not needed - the villa is up on a hill and there is always a lovely breeze to keep things cool. Insect meshes on the windows means you can keep the windows open without fear of invasion from the insect population! The pool area is private with a lovely view. The water is from the thermal springs so no nasty chemicals. There are steps down to the terrace where the pool is situated but these would be managable for most people. There is plenty of seating in the gardens and a barbeque area with seating and a large table as well (shared with other apartments in the Villa). The views from the apartment are quite stunning.
Bagni di Lucca is a lovely town with nice bars and restaurants just a short walk from the apartment. We particularly liked Ristorante da Vinico - pizzas were top class. There are several supermarkets within a short distance. The location is perfect for exploring Tuscany - easy reach of Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Siena, etc., but a car would be a good idea. If you are feeling brave (narrow twisty roads) explore the mountain roads leading away from Bagni di Lucca and you will discover some dramatic hill top villages with stunning views. Overall I would highly recommend the apartment and the area and hope to go back someday. Pam, Dublin, Ireland.
Consisting of three main centres, La Villa, Ponte a Serraglio and Fornoli, Bagni di Lucca is surrounded by a constellation of villages and hamlets and the whole area is rich in artistic and natural beauties.
It is somewhat like a climatic mountain resort in spite of its mere 152 meters above sea level. The climate of the valley is characterized by mild winters and pleasant summers.
Rainfall is moderate and the winter snow is usually restricted to high altitudes.
Since the Middle Ages, Bagni di Lucca has been known for the therapeutic, thermal waters that flow from the flanks of a cliff called the Colle di Corsena. The very famous and ancient streams of Bagni di Lucca are fed with sulfuric-bicarbonate-calcium rich waters with curative and regenerating powers. The water temperatures range from 36.5°C/98°F to 54.1°C/130°F. The Jean Varraud spa (originally known as Bagni Caldi), 150m from the villa, has two natural vapour caves, Grotta Grande and Grotta Paolina that hold air temperatures of around 45°C/113°F.
