Perched on the hillside overlooking Cruz Bay Harbor, The Cottage is conveniently located within walking distance to the village of Cruz Bay and an eclectic assortment of duty-free shopping, activity centers, taxi stand, and a variety of first class restaurants for casual or intimate dining. The closest beach is at Frank Bay which is also within easy walking distance from The Cottage and offers a mostly pebble beach with pockets of sand and some excellent snorkeling. Because of the close proximity to Cruz Bay, guests at The Cottage may find that renting a vehicle during their stay is truly optional. For guests who do rent a vehicle, Battery Hill Condominiums has a large, private off street parking area with adequate room for parking a rental vehicle.
The Cottage is a cozy, air conditioned studio suite with queen sized bed, a small dining area and a ‘corner kitchenette'. The Cottage is well suited for guests who prefer to dine out but the availability of a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, hot plate, toaster, blender and dishes will provide adequate facilities for occasionally 'dining in'! The wall facing the harbor view has two large sliding glass doors which provide a panoramic view of Cruz Bay Harbor and the Caribbean Sea. These doors also have sliding screens which will allow for the glass doors to be opened to allow the refreshing tradewind breezes to cool the living spaces. Another sliding glass door leads to a small private balcony complete with a table and chairs where guests can enjoy an intimate morning brunch or ‘sundowner' cocktails in private setting with inspiring views of Cruz Bay Harbor and the village.
The Battery Hill pool (shared only with guests from this 9 unit condominium complex) is just steps from your front door and features sunny areas with loungers and tables as well as a shaded area with additional loungers and tables . With sunlight from early morning to late afternoon and awe-inspiring views, the pool is situated in an unbeatable location on St. John. Adjacent to the pool deck is a communal BBQ grill and the free guest laundry facilities . Whether you spend your time relaxing around the pool deck or exploring all of the incomparable beaches, hiking trails, shops, and dining experiences St. John has to offer, your stay at The Cottage at Battery Hill is sure to become one of your favorite St. John memories.
Building construction on St. John may from time to time occur adjacent to one or more of our rental properties. Presently, there is such a building construction project ongoing adjacent to the Battery Hill Condominiums. This project may cause some objectionable noise at the Panacea Condo and we apologize for this inconvenience but wanted all prospective guests to be fully informed about this issue.

My husband and I were more than pleased with our stay at The Cottage in St. John. Perfect location, very clean, and bright & cheerful decor. It was a perfect week. Looking forward to returning next year!
The Cottage at Battery Hill is a wonderful place to stay for anyone wanting to experience all that St John has to offer. It is a small cottage, definitely perfect for 1 or 2, overlooking the town of Cruz. It is close enough to walk in to town and wonderful for anyone not wanting to rent a vehicle. I did have a Jeep this stay, and often did not use it as I could walk to where I needed to go. I do recommend renting one to have the freedom to go wherever you want, whenever you want. The Cottage was very clean and well maintained. Plenty of towels, extra sheets, a huge book with suggestions on what to do, beach chairs, cooler, sunscreen, bug spray, a kitchenette with all you need to make a quick, easy meal. The pool deck right outside the cottage was an added bonus. I thought of it as an extension of the Cottage - I often would have breakfast or dinner out there. It is a perfect place to watch Cruz Bay wake up and go to bed each day. The grounds of Battery Hill are immaculately maintained. Cimmaron Property Management was a breeze to work with prior to my arrival. Their staff would answer any inquiries I had very quickly. I did not need to contact them while on island as I had no reason to. Absolutely wonderful experience, I am already planning my next stay in just a 3 months and can't think of a better place than The Cottage at Battery Hill.
For things to do around town:

Early Breakfast Suggestions:
*Cafe Livin' - yummy and inexpensive
*Baked in the Sun - yummy and inexpensive as well. Right by the ACC, so grab a bite to eat and head that way

We loved staying at the Cottage on St. John. The location was great and if you don't mind walking up a hill everyday you do not need to rent a car. Everything you need is foot steps away! Lind Point Trail, which gets you to the beautiful honeymoon and soloman beaches is an easy walk from the condo. If those are the only beaches you visit while in St. John, you have seen some of the most beautiful! Food and shopping is also within walking distance. Waking up and lying by the pool every morning was fantastic! No complaints!
The Cottage was a short walk from Cruz Bay and was an ideal place to stay if you want to use it as a homebase while you spend most of your time exploring the island's beaches, hikes, restaurants and bars and shops. It was clean, got good cross-breezes, you could prepare some food (there was a toaster, refrigerator, bowls, cups, utensils). We didn't end up spending too much time in the Cottage aside from sleeping and some morning breakfasts, but what time we were there we enjoyed it. If you're looking for a large villa that you can spread out in and spend a day relaxing at "home," this might not be your place, but if you want a place to sleep and relax while you spend most of your time exploring the island and all it has to offer, this place is ideal!
You can buy food at the Everyting store, go to all the bars in Cruz Bay (Woodies and Beach Bar were some of our faves), and all the delicious restaurants (Rhum Lines was particularly delicious, get all the pupu platters) and you can take taxis to other areas. But my favorite beach was Soloman, which you walk to via the path behind the National Park Visitor Center--small, secluded, big palm trees and tiny palm trees you can sit under on the sandy beach.
I recently stayed at the cottage with my husband for a glorious week in St.John. It was a fantastic studio villa that allowed us both access to transportation to the beautiful beaches and also allowed us to party in the evenings at one of the many bars in Cruz Bay. We had a blast at the cottage, it's a perfect get away for a couple who want to participate in the lively night life on St.John after a long day at the beach. A few evenings we would hang out at the pool, which is RIGHT NEXT to the cottage, and just hear the live bands at the beach bar. Being perched above Cruz Bay also let us have amazing views in the morning. Probably one of the best things about the cottage other then the awesome location was that it was extremely affordable and had everything we could need on a weeks vacation.
St. John is a small island approximately 4 miles wide by 9 miles long and is the home of the Virgin Islands National Park and the Coral Reef National Monument. Together these National treasures comprise more than 2/3 of the total land area and a significant amount of coastal waters surrounding St. John. Within the borders of the National Park, visitors will enjoy numerous hiking trails, visiting ruins, snorkeling and of course, sunbathing on a beautiful white sand beach. The Virgin Islands National Park Visitors Center on the waterfront in Cruz Bay is a 'must visit' location during your vacation to be sure that you will experience all The National Park has to offer.
Commonly called 'The Jewel of the Caribbean', St. John boasts of its numerous world class beaches, duty free shopping venues and eclectic collection of dining options sure to satisfy the most discerning palates. Dare to 'Live the Dream' on beautiful St. John!
