This apartment is about as central as you could want in Paris. It is minutes from Invalides and the Rodin Museum. If you like to walk, you are in walking distance of the Eiffel Tower (about 1 mile), D’Orsay Museum (also approximately 1 mile) and the Louvre (approximately 1 ½ miles). Since you are in Paris, part of your trip should include walking through the city to enjoy its beautiful architecture so the walks are not an issue! On the ground floor of the building is a little shop where we purchased fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice every morning. Around the corner is a patisserie where we would pick up our morning pastries. There are numerous restaurants in the vicinity and Paris’ great metro has stations nearby. Download a Paris metro map and use it hand in hand with the metro to make your stay even easier. Because the apartment is located about 2 blocks from the metro it was easy to venture farther out, such as Notre Dame, the Montmarte area and the Arc de Triomphe. The central location is key. It allowed us to be very flexible with what we wanted to see and when, knowing that we would always be near the Rodin and the Army Museum / Invalides. Our host was great, supplying us with all of the necessities for our 5 night stay. He met us at the apartment when we arrived and gave us the lay of the land and also treated us to a bottle of wine (French, of course) and some beer. This is a perfect apartment for 2 couples. 2 bedrooms with Queen beds and 2 full baths, though one of the baths is broken up into 2 rooms – no big deal. We used the 3rd bedroom to hold all of our luggage and thus it kept our bedrooms and the living room – dining room clear. And, though narrow, the balcony provided a view of the Eiffel Tower. We sifted through dozens of apartments before ending up with this location and the 4 of us could not have been happier with our decision.
Five of us just had a remarkable time in this wonderful at this elegant but relaxed apartment. I'll try to review a few things that perhaps others have not covered.
Space: This is quite large for a Paris apartment and especially for the price. In addition, the space is laid out in such a way that gives the bedrooms a great deal of privacy from the living and kitchen areas. They are off a separate hallway which can be closed off with doors. That means that early risers won't interrupt the sleep of those who want to sleep in a bit longer. We were two couples and one single, in our 40's-50's. And our wake-up times were spread out over about an hour and a half. So this was a huge plus for us.
Windows/Sound: The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood. A cute bistro is across the street and there is a very nice bakery downstairs on the corner. Neither is loud, and the neighborhood itself is lovely and quiet. But cities have a level of background noise that some people might not be used to. The windows in this apartment are pretty much sound proof. At night we didn't hear a single noise (no background city noise whatsoever), and we were in the bedroom that fronted the street (the two other bedrooms open into a quiet courtyard). Get me the name of that window manufacturer!
Amenities/Extras: We were met with a full compliment of coffee pods, sugar, etc. and even fresh clementine oranges, all of which were greatly appreciated. The beds were very comfortable and the linens definitely above standard.
Location: We loved this location. Walking distance from everything (and a close metro stop when you want to get somewhere fast). Everything you need very close by, including grocery stores for the basics.
Overall: I would definitely rent this apartment again. So much better than a hotel at a fraction of the price. It made the stay so relaxed and enjoyable.
This flat, and David's service, made for an outstanding two week Christmas holiday for our family of 5 adults. The 7th is perfect for a sense of neighborhood with wine stores, bakers, green grocers and small markets all within one block. The area is full of bistros, restaurants and wine bars but without traffic or noise around the flat. Navigating Paris is easy as there are two metro stops within blocks -- and the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalids are short strolls down treelined boulevards. The flat is spacious and we loved having the dining table to gather around for dinners. Mornings began by popping downstairs for a coffee at the bistro which we overlooked from the french doors of our balcony. We were hit at the start by the double whammy of lost luggage and one very sick traveler. David was there to help with arranging a doctor and ensuring our overall comfort while we dealt with CDG's horrible baggage system. His recommendations for dinning and shopping proved spot on. Our luggage finally arrived, our traveler recovered and we had a most wonderful Christmas and New Year celebration. We loved this flat and will definitely return.
Loved our apartment in Paris, David was there to greet us when we arrived and introduced us to the apartment. The apartment was clean and well equipped with all the amenities we needed. Very nice neighborhood, quiet and secure. The location was perfect, walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, Musee Rodin and walks along the Seine. Lovely cafes close by, a wonderful bakery around the corner and a fruit and vegetable stand next door.
Thank you David, we would love to come back again, there is so much to see in Paris and your apartment is lovely! Catherine
We were four adults traveling from California for a week in Paris and we were delighted with this spacious and spotless apartment. The 7th district is the most perfect location; less crowded, elegant and with a neighborhood feel that was perfect for us. We had a green grocer right next door, a patisserie underneath, a convenience grocery store across the street, etc. We loved the 4 restaurants in our 'hood' and frequented them when we were tired and worn out from a 12 hour tourist day. The kitchen was well equipped for our breakfasts and wine and cheese tastings before dinner. Bathrooms were modern, bedrooms were average size and lots of storage within. We loved the dining room for our coffee and breakfasts while we watched the neighborhood come awake each morning. Our train was delayed over 2 hours and it was a bit of a problem finding a taxi so we were very late arriving at the apartment and therefore we were DELIGHTED to find David inside the apartment waiting for us to arrive. We literally were standing on the street wondering 'what on earth will we do to contact David to open the apartment??". At that very moment, David opened the lobby door and helped us with our luggage! We had a marvelous time and loved this apartment and I could easily see myself living there for a month. We would have liked to have had more towels and pillows but that was a very small item and we did not bother David with this.
My sister-in-law and I took our daughters to Paris this summer for a two-week graduation celebration trip and had the great pleasure of staying in this apartment. This was my 7th rental experience in Paris and by far the best. The apartment is spacious and beautifully decorated and maintained; the bathrooms rival those in fine hotels and the kitchen appears to be very recently remodeled. All of the beds were very comfortable (we used the den as a bedroom) and there is a huge amount of storage space, so we were able to put away our suitcases and our clothing. The location can't be beat; a boulangerie/patisserie is located just downstairs and the fabulous cafés, restaurants, and attractions of the 7th arrondissement are just minutes away. The convenient École Militaire metro stop is 5 minutes from the apartment; located on line 8, this stop connects with the major lines and makes traveling through Paris very easy.
I've had small disappointments with every Parisian apartment that I've previously rented; either the space was tight, or the location not so great, or the apartment not in great condition but this apartment truly has it all. After long hot days of walking throughout the city we loved coming home to our comfortable and spacious refuge, and I felt more at home in Paris than I ever had before. David, the apartment manager, was one of the biggest reasons that we had such a great experience; he met us promptly as we arrived from the airport, worked behind the scenes to make sure the apartment was in perfect condition when we checked in, and responded quickly to my texts when I had questions.
I cannot recommend this apartment enough; yes, it is a little pricier than other apartments you might find, but considering the space, the quality, and the location, I think this apartment is a very good value, indeed.
Great location and very spacious. Near Boulangeries, Patisseries and restaurants. Great balcony for people watching. Near to 2 Metro stations. Everything you need in a nicely furnished upscale style. Many balcony doors open for a great breeze on a warm day. It made for a great vacation. We'd go back to this apartment in a heartbeat.
