My property 14C at Halii Kai, an oceanfront condo, may show available but please allow me to confirm these dates prior to a reservation request or organising your flights since your desired dates may create gaps of less than a week on either side of your stay that are difficult to fill.. This is a magnificent property so I do not want to disappoint you if I cannot work with your dates and prior to booking your flights you may have the flexibility to arrive sooner or leave earlier. Also, if I am offering a special the cleaning and resort fees will be added to the total cost.

Hali’i Kai oceanfront homes are located on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii’s Big Island, approximately 18 miles from the Keahole Kona International Airport. Birthplace of the great King Kamehameha I, tales of the favored status of this stretch of the island are legend. Blessed with a scant ten inches of rainfall annually, most days here are sun drenched and cooled by the breezes of Anaehoomalu Bay. Imagine gazing across the beautiful Pacific and spending your day watching whales as they frolic in our Hawaiian waters.

Hali’i Kai is the newest luxury resort at the Waikoloa Beach Resort with all the features you want, but often times impossible to find on the Kohala Coast. This is a five star location and seeing is believing. I knew the second I drove into the complex that I would not want to leave.

What makes this condo unique

Oceanfront pool and restaurant are a big treat. Exercising is never fun but at Halii Kai you can exercise and enjoy watching the whales arcing directly in front of you. Almost takes the pain away! The property is miticulously kept and the people are very friendly. The weather is nice all year round.

Great experience. It was very easy to communicate with Peggy. We saw many whales from the back porch. Would stay here again, no doubt.

Excellent property in a great location

We just finished a two week stay at unit 14C in Hali'i Kai and really can't say enough good things about our experience there. We've stayed at other units in Hali'i Kai and prefer to stay in the buildings that are directly on the water. This unit had absolutely everything you could ask for. The kitchen was excellent equipped with anything you might need. The beds super comfortable. The entire unit impeccably clean. The activity closet similarly had everything needed to enjoy our stay - beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, boogie boards, snorkel gear, etc. We brought our own boogie boards and snorkel gear so we didn't use the ones at the condo but they appeared to be of very good quality. We're not pool people so we didn't spend much time at the pool but it is a very short walk from the unit to the pool and clubhouse (it is a great place to watch the sunset). Did lots of morning runs and walks along the beach trail, usually stopping by A-Bay to spot turtles and also through the petroglyph fields. Super quiet and relaxing. I think we caught almost every sunset sitting on the lanai with a cocktail or glass of wine or champagne. There's shopping close by along with restaurants, etc. (although we mostly cooked dinners at home). The lanai of the unit was equipped with an electric grill which I was a little leary of at first but thought brilliant after the first use (heats up fast, never runs out of propane, etc). Hapuna and Mauna Kea beaches are just a few minutes drive away. Kua Bay is a little further in the opposite direction so world class beaches are close by. Peggy and Nicole were super responsive to any questions or needs we had. - while we won't be back the Big Island for a while, I'd stay at any of Peggy's other properties in other locations if our paths should cross. Highly recommend this place.

Tempted to write a negative review so this place doesn't get any more popular... Of 8 or so trip to the islands, this was, by far, my best stay in Hawaii. The condo is beautiful and well furnished and I certainly didn't mind the view of the ocean from the master bedroom. Hali'i Kai is wonderfully well maintained and the (salt-water!) pool + bar are spectacular. The staff are super friendly. Typically, we venture all over trying out different snorkeling spots and beaches but this trip we found everything we needed down at A'bay, not 5-minutes from the condo.

A Great Stay on the Big Island

Our family of four adults just returned from two wonderful weeks on the unique Big Island of Hawaii. We stayed in unit 14C at the Halii Kai Resort in the Waikaloa Resort area. This is a great two bedroom, two bath oceanfront unit and Peggy, the owner, is great to work with. The Halii Kai is a quiet, gated development and our unit looked out onto the lava field which extended down to the water. We spent every morning and many evenings on the lanai enjoying the breeze and sounds of the ocean and the birds. This unit is close to the pool and the Ocean Club Bar/Restaurant which served excellent food and drinks. Again, the atmosphere of the pool area was quiet and never overly crowded. If you're looking for more action, you are just minutes by car or walking from the main part of the Waikaloa resort area which offers shopping, dining, and endless vacation activities. As far as the unit itself goes, you get exactly what is advertised and more. It was the best stocked unit we have ever rented through VRBO. You show up with your suitcases, you run to the market to get your own personal food and drinks and you'er set to go. The activity closet has all sorts of equipment for almost any activity you could think of: beach chairs, beach towels and umbrellas, snorkeling gear, tennis gear, binoculars, ice chests in all sizes, etc. If you are into golf there are numerous courses in the immediate vicinity. The Big Island offers some amazing and different experiences than the other islands, like viewing red hot lava in Volcanos National Park, exploring lava fields and lava tubes, and viewing the worlds most powerful telescopes at 14,000 ft on the summit of Mauna Kea. It also offers all the other activities the State of Hawaii is known for. The Big Island and this unit will not disappoint. Aloha!

Enchanting Serenity in Hawaii

We are completing our last full day here, having savored a number of extraordinary adventures that ranged from a supercool night dive with magnificent manta rays to the dazzling pyrotechnics of a volcano's lava flow, and our party of 5 can say unequivocally that Hali Kai so far exceeded our expectations that the whole experience seems dreamlike and magical. Arriving at this superb resort, enjoying its high end amenities and outstanding customer service, returning at day's end to one of the most impressive accommodations we have ever shared in our 40 years of traveling the world--all this added up to the perfect vacation. At Hali Kai, everything you might need is right at your fingertips, and all the components of the condo combine in perfect harmony to ensure your stay is unforgettable and unsurpassable. From the lanai that offers an expansive but at the same time secluded & private view of the ocean, to the meticulously landscaped grounds; from the high end appliances that facilitate meal preparation to the incredibly agreeable staff managed by Nicole and Peggy--everything and everyone associated with Hali Kai was absolutely ideal! We are delighted beyond imagination by our time in this remarkable locale, and we look forward to not only recommending Hali Kai to our friends and fellow travelers but also to planning a return trip in the near future.

The only thing missing was seeing the whales. Bad timing!

We truly enjoyed our wonderful stay in Hali'i Kai. We have rented beach houses, condos, villas in our world travels and consider 14C one of the best we have experienced with it's location, views, outstanding amenities and spotless condition. We were easily able to explore the NE and NW areas of the Big Island and the nearby Blue Helicopter trip to the volcanic areas and around the island was awesome. It was great being oceanfront and quite near the pool, workout facilities and the restaurant/bar and close to an access to the King's Trail and the Petroglyphs. The Waikoloa Beach Resort has so many varied shopping and eating opportunities. We especially enjoyed Daylight Mind Coffee Company and of course, Lava Lava Beach Club not to mention ice cream runs in the Queens Marketplace after cooking in the well equipped kitchen.
