Scott and Meg married in 1990 and spent years living in the Detroit Metro Area before moving to Houston, TX, in 2005. They both earned graduate degrees and had busy careers (Scott as a CFO and Meg as a teacher and writer). But after decades of battling crazy traffic and commuting hours each day, they decided it was time for a change.
Meg Dendler purchased this house in 2012
One look at this glorious property in Arkansas was all it took. Eureka Springs stole Scott & Meg's hearts, and the promise of waking up every morning to a view that stretched for miles clinched it. They packed up the family (including 4 cats and a dog) and relocated to what they now call Serenity HIlltop. Scott and Meg live just across the lawn from the guest house, so you may see Meg writing on the porch or Scott working in the yard. It is truly a little bit of heaven every day.
Downtown Eureka Springs is delightful, but staying overnight in the city can make parking tricky and is not exactly peaceful. Serenity Hilltop offers the privacy for your group to be as quiet or as loud as you please, and to be all under one roof together. Guests love to explore the cavern on our property and take quiet walks in the woods. Everyone in town comments on what a beautiful place we have, and we couldn't agree more. We'd love to share it with you!

"Last night's bonfire topped off a wonderful week of relaxing, adventure, laughter, great food, and beautiful views at Serenity Hilltop! This was the perfect home away from home for our ten folks from Texas and Kansas. Scott and Meg, thank you so much for treating us like family. We will definitely recommend your Eureka Springs piece of paradise to anyone looking for a place to catch their breath and enjoy friends, family, and the beautiful views!
We love the little hearts the young ladies put by their names! Thank you.
The house was perfect for our girls weekend getaway. Great view, great location, wonderful people. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you Meg and Scott for sharing your beautiful property with us. Anyone traveling to Eureka Springs with a group of 10 or less, this is the place to stay.
What a beautiful spot to get away from it all! Very clean and well-furnished. The view out the back was spectacular and so peaceful. The beds and sheets were very comfy, with the exception of the sofa sleeper in the basement. It was not sleepable and we tried putting the mattress on the floor which wasn't much better, so the two girls ended up just sleeping on the couches. We cooked breakfast and had all the utensils we needed. The service was great and we will book this place again for our trip next year.
This place was beyond our expectations. We loved it and plan to go back next year. The house was very clean and had everything that we needed. We met Meg and she was very nice.
All 10 of us had a good time. The house was very clean. We had plenty of room and to spare. Nice setup with 4 baths. Let the kids sleep on the sleeper sofas since they can sleep anywhere. Wouldn't recommend to an adult. Two of our party a little unsteady. They made the front steps ok but they had to be careful. Kitchen is set up kinda funny but we made out ok. Very nice outdoor pavilion with nice tables and nice view. We ate dinner outside one night and it was very pleasant. Dark as pitch outside at night which I really like and the decks are great! Go and have a great time.
A group of girlfriends and I met halfway between our now homes in Kansas and Texas for a relaxing weekend in Eureka Springs. The owners made it super easy to get checked in, answered all our questions, and gave great recommendations for things to do and see in town! The beds were all SO comfy---we all slept incredibly well! The kitchen has everything you need for a night in of cooking and the porches have so much room to relax for an al fresca dinner or wine in the evening. Steve built us a fire one night so we could roast marshmallows for S'mores and was very hospitable. This home makes it easy for everyone to have their space and quiet time and yet still be able to come together in common areas to enjoy your home away from home. We would love to come back and stay here again, especially for a fall trip when the leaves are changing--I'm sure that view is just incredible! Thanks for having us and we look forward to a future visit!
We had a wonderful time. The house was impeccably clean and was a perfect "home away from home" for our 4 generation get away. We each had our own space and there were a couple of family spaces for all of us to congregate and talk and for the baby to play. The linens and towels were fabulous and the house was so well stocked even down to the sound machines in each bedroom. The kitchen had everything and we enjoyed breakfasts and lunches together. We loved the porches and my favorite time was swinging on the porch swing with my granddaughter early in the morning. It was close enough to most of the attractions in the area. And so very peaceful. Thanks to Meg and Scott for perfect accommodations. Would definitely recommend it to relatives and friends.
Over 1,400 feet up in the Ozarks on 7 private wooded acres to explore. A quick trip to all that Eureka Springs has to offer--art galleries, quaint shopping, great restaurants--as well as minutes from Beaver Lake. In an hour, you can be in Branson, MO. We also highly recommend Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge for a face to face experience with rescued tigers, lions, cougars, and bears. We are located right off Highway 62 for easy access.
