This is the rare house that includes two separate structures: the main house and the cottage. The modern home is located down a country lane, 4 blocks from downtown, Saint Helena, the "heart of the Napa Valley". You will be a short walk or drive from dozens of wineries, restaurants and shops for which Saint Helena is famous. The year around beauty associated with the wine industry surrounds our home in every direction.
There are 3 private bedrooms with adjacent private baths. Additionally, there is a 4th bed in a loft. This property is great for weddings, family reunions, special birthdays, as well as business meetings. Gather around the grand piano and fireplace in the living room.Three different outdoor areas invite enjoying that great bottle of wine. Indoors, gather around the fireplace, grand piano, and dining/conference table that comfortably seats eight. Careful planning has create spaces to facilitate group gatherings in addition to peaceful secluded areas to retreat to and recharge.
All beds have 100% cotton linens, feather comforters and pillows. The first floor bedroom has an antique, French- sleigh, king bed and adjacent bath with tiled shower. The airy, vaulted-ceiling 2nd floor bedroom has a king bed with deck and bath with tiled shower. The tiles were locally hand made by Healdsburg Tile. Additionally, there is an American 1850's four poster double bed in a curtained loft. The private cottage has a queen bed and compact bath with a tiled shower and is 10 steps under a covered patio away from the main house.
A separate dining room is adjacent to the cook's kitchen, with its Thermadore gas range and Sub Zero refrigerator/freezer. Three uniquely different outdoor areas include a dining and lounge area by the front lawn with a great view; a second, sunny area with a charcoal barbecue next to the cottage and a third, secluded shady spot with chaise lounges for two in the back yard. The two patio tables, with umbrellas, comfortably seat eight.
The house features stained concrete floors, galvanized metal finishes, stucco, rustic wood beams, re-purposed barn doors and windows, and antique light fixtures. Furnishings include a beautifully restored bamboo living room set, as well as pieces that have been passed down through several generations. The living room has a smart TV (basic channels), DVD/Blu-ray player, a wood burning fireplace, rustic chandelier and grand piano.
The main house is air-conditioned. The cottage has a ceiling fan (not air-conditioned). There is Wi-Fi throughout the property. The first floor laundry room has a complimentary washer and dryer.

About Byron and Kelly
Twenty years ago we came across a 150-year-old vacant lot hidden in the middle of a residential block in Saint Helena. We jumped at the chance purchased the lot; then designed and built this contemporary home while Byron worked as an Architect in a firm in Saint Helena. The design is a nod to the iconic western storefront with metal roofs and siding one sees around town. Kelly worked as the Art Director at the Saint Helena Boys and Girls Club. We have lived in Saint Helena since 1997.

Great Quiet Place
Place was great; really quiet setting; backyard the best feature to hang out and drink some wine. Home was very clean.
Great location new a lot of wineries and shopping
Home was clean but would be nice to have some extra towels. Bedrooms were comfy and outside space perfect for enjoying some wine and friends. Showerhead needed replaced and owner was easy to reach and resolved quickly. Perfect location near all off Napa’s wineries and shopping!
Perfect Napa Hideaway
Perfect Napa Hideaway, quick walk to downtown St. Helena and all it's delicious restaurants. We have stayed two years in a row, love this house and location!

Great location and accommodations for a girls weekend away!
A total of seven of us stayed at the Napa Valley Hideaway for four days while on a long weekend trip and were quite pleased with the location and accommodations. The house is a quick walk to Main Street St. Helena which has a ton of restaurants, shopping, and things to do. The house itself was clean, roomy, and the beds were comfortable. The cottage is detached from the house, but is a 10 step walk through a little patio / courtyard to a door to the main house. There is no air conditioning in the cottage, however the windows opened allowed for a nice breeze to cool off the warm midday sun. The kitchen was small, but had everything you could imagine needing and more to make breakfast and dinners for all of us. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee in the courtyard and settled in each night in the same. It was perfect for our group and we would absolutely stay there again.
A Hidden Gem in St. Helena
My family and I stayed here in April of 2017. This is the fourth year we stayed at this property. It meets all our needs, but the best is the location. It is off a quiet street in St. Helena and is about 4 blocks from Main Street. That is perfect for us because we can walk to our favorite restaurant, Cook. The house is spacious and well equipped. We don't do a lot of cooking but it has everything we need to have a light breakfast in either the dining room or outside on the patio. On warm afternoons, we love to sit at the outside table, open a bottle of wine and enjoy the Napa Valley climate. I always tell folks that the air is a little fresher and the sun a little brighter there! Do consider this property for your next visit.
We are located in a very pleasant off the road spot with an easy level walk to downtown's mid area. Across from our lane is a small park with picnic tables and benches.
