Classic Cape setting with a contemporary flair. Cathedral ceiling and original art. Great kitchen.
Hi! We are Jeff and Elin.
We live in Oklahoma, but our heart is on the Cape. Elin spent many childhood vacations at nearby Nickerson park. We bought our home next to Uncle Seth's Pond in 2012. This our own home and we manage rentals personally. We travel to the house in the spring and fall to make it ready for travelers. We are always trying to improve. Just this spring Jeff installed the rock wall at the fire pit. He put in every stone himself - choosing rock at the sand pit - and hand placing each one.
Elin is responsible for the interior. She chose and placed everything at the house. She comes from a talented family. See if you can guess which art is by Elin, her sister, or our daughter.
We chose 54 Winslow to be our future retirement home. We simply fell in love with it.
We think it's perfectly placed midway between Orleans and Chatham. It's close to shopping, even during tourist season it's a quick, uncrowded drive to the grocery or pizza parlor.
My family and I (including 4 adults and 1 18-month old) enjoyed a wonderful vacation stay at Jeff's home. The property is beautiful inside and out, with no detail left overlooked from the great artwork on the walls to the firepit and hammock in the backyard. The kitchen is fully stocked which saves time and energy and lets you focus on enjoying your vacation! This location is close to so many great Cape treasures as well so there is no lack of things to do and beautiful sights to see. The beds were very comfortable and unlike many other Cape Cod rents, linens are included. My very minor feedback is that it would be nice if the beds were already made when you get there so you could get right in as they are so inviting. I also recommend tightening the screws on the king size bed as it seems a bit creaky. Otherwise, we were thrilled with the property. Jeff did everything possible to make sure we had a wonderful and carefree vacation. Thank you!
Our family had a great time here. The home is very well designed, leaving no detail untouched for an extremely comfortable and convenient getaway. Not only is the house well designed, the owners clearly put a lot of thought into everything from the lighting to the decor. The house is well stocked with anything you might possibly need with a loaded kitchen.
My personal favorite part is the backyard-- a beautiful deck overlooking a nicely landscaped garden with a firepit. From the deck you can watch the sunrise and enjoy the sounds of nature (or soak in the hot tub!). I enjoyed the deck as much as I enjoy visiting Nauset and the National seashore. It was hard to leave!
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a weeklong (or more) getaway. We stayed for three nights but I would be happy to stay forever! Thanks again for providing a perfect place for us to enjoy time with the family!
We had an amazing vacation thanks to this fantastic home and its perfect location on the Cape. The beach is just a short drive as are beautiful swimming lakes. The owners have taken great care to ensure the place is comfortable. With high quality linens, generous towels, a washing machine and dryer, spices in the kitchen, a lobster pot, and a great "coffee station""--it is clear that the owners care about their guests. This peaceful setting is perfect for a family vacation, a small group seeking a restful retreat or a romantic getaway.
Awesome!!! Beautiful, tranquil setting in a quiet neighborhood. Convenient to Orleans and the most beautiful town on the Cape...Chatham.Everything was clean and well maintained. The décor sets this place apart from most rentals...its fun, whimsical and creates a warm atmosphere. Jeff was immediately responsive to my inquiry and stayed in touch to make sure our stay went smoothly. I would definitely recommend this property.
This was a GREAT rental. The home was beautifully maintained and had everything we could possibly need. The neighborhood was quiet and yet convenient to everything. We enjoyed spending time outside on the deck enjoying the view and especially spending quiet evenings by the fire. Both the bay and the ocean were close by to swim and to kayak.
My wife arrived alone at the house in the dark on the Saturday we started our rental, moving in ahead of the rest of us arriving. If was humid. She drove into sparkling white lights lighting the evergreens next to the driveway and entered the house, warmly lit, with the AC on and all beds made - she said it was a dream! Whether coffee on the back deck, or lounging in the jacuzzi (with strongest therapy jets east of the Missippi, by the way), this all overlooks private woods and Uncle Seth's Pond, and a wonderful Sonos music system that pipes your iPod collection over the house-wide speaker system. What a relaxing week. Bike ride trails are easy distances from the house, short drives to Skaket beach on the bay side or Nauset or Coast Guard beaches on the National Sea Shore side, and to downtown Orleans or Chatham for evening walking among shops and ice cream. And the kitchen is REALLY well equipped for corn & lobster (big pots), any cooking implement you may need and complete spice selection. In short, Jeff & Elin have thought of everything to make your stay wonderful. We loved it! Vince & Patty
Located Midway between Nickerson state park with the wonderful crystal clear Cliff pond, and Pleasant bay with perfect views and warm calm ocean water.
Don't miss nearby Chatham fish pier where the locals bring in the days catch. Buy your lobster and steamers there and have them in the pot in 15 minutes.
Antiquing in Orleans or next door in Chatham and Brewster are Cape Cod traditions.
Plan a full day for art in Provincetown during the day and nightlife after. Don't miss a whale watch while in P-town.
The Captains Gol course (public) is only 5 min away.
