White Pelican: 3 BR, 2 BA home recently (2015) renovated and immaculately maintained (new pics coming soon). Sits on huge Gulf front gulf-to-bay lot for water view from every window of the house. Huge deck and screen porch on the gulf, overlooking beautiful sand dunes and private beach. Front deck overlooks Alligator Bay and natural forest area. Sleeps 7, rare exceptions made for additional guest (extra charge for more than 7 people.) Air conditioned, dishwasher, washer/dryer, cable TV, DVD, VCR, gas grill, fully furnished. High speed wireless internet and Cable TV provided.

Amenities: Hardwood floors throughout, two queen beds, bunk bed with double and a single; recently remodeled; Soapstone kitchen counters and new second bath; microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, fully furnished kitchen, ceiling fans, cable TV and VCR, gas grill; 16 foot wide glass doors look out on huge screen porch, private beach.

Activities: Very quiet area. No theme parks, roller coasters, kiddie parks, etc. Shopping within 30-45 minutes; trips to Carrabelle, Wakulla, Apalachicola, East Point, Tallahassee are popular. Deep sea fishing boats leave from several local marinas. Wonderful restaurants within 15 minutes drive. Fishing from surf in front of the house this year yielded Spanish mackerel, flounder, whiting, and Redfish.

Area: Alligator Point is a narrow spit of land about 4 miles long. Most maps don't list it. Years ago, the area was called 'Lighthouse Point' before it was developed. Our house is at the most narrow part, thus the gulf-to-bay location. Our back yard is the Gulf of Mexico; our front yard is Alligator Bay. Nice easy sand path through the dunes to the beach....the bay is accessible in the front of the house and we recently added a 420' dock for fishing and boat mooring available upon request (inquire for details).

Highway 98 is the main highway that runs along the coast. Alligator Drive (Highway 370) cuts down to the peninsula just west of the big bridge over Ochlocknee Bay. Light shopping is available within 15 minutes of the house.

Rentals typically 7 day minimum but some exceptions and run from Sunday to Sunday unless other arrangements are made.

About Josh Simmons

This is our personal vacation home not a shabby rental investment filled with inexpensive worn furniture and run by a corporation. We take great pride in making it inviting and well appointed. The home has been renovated from top to bottom since we purchased the home and we have just renovated the master suite with new glass enclosed master shower and ship lap bedroom in the winter of 2016-17. We are avid divers and spearfish year around in the amazingly bountiful waters of the gulf.

A lovely stay at a beautiful home which overlooks the ocean

The ocean right at your doorstep. Such a lovely home with screened in porch and beyond a regular porch looks out on Alligator Point beach. This is the place to go to relax, listen to the ocean, watch birds, and collect shells on rustic white sand beach. We loved our stay. A wonderful, clean home with all the amenities.

Perfect Spring Getaway!

While we have visited Alligator Point for many vacations over the past years, this was our first stay at The White Pelican. The house was perfect for our small group, my husband and myself and our 12 year old granddaughter. It is evident that the owners have put a lot of thought and care into making this an attractive and comfortable vacation home. Expansive living areas were wonderful for visiting with friends & near-by family who came by to visit. There's plenty of comfortable seating spread out through the open concept living/dining/kitchen area. The kitchen is quite large with an efficient layout and a huge island for extra seating and serving space. It was well equipped and the separate ice maker was wonderful for filling the cooler and we never had to worry about running out of ice! The three bedrooms are on the cozy side, but are very attractive with lots of natural light and comfortable bedding, as well as adequate storage. A nice sized screened porch and a large deck were the perfect spots for morning coffee and dolphin watching or for just relaxing throughout the day. We love to stay in this area of Alligator Point because of the beach to bay view and access. This property has a great pier on the bay with a large dock area and a fish cleaning station which came in very handy as we had great luck with the fishing! Another feature we really appreciated was that this house is not as elevated as some others we have stayed at in the area. While there are stairs for entering the house and accessing the beach, they are not as steep or as many of them. That makes it so much easier to load and unload luggage and groceries, as well as being easier on touchy knees. Even my 86 year old dad was able to manage them easily when he came for lunch one day! What we love about this area is that it has changed so little over the years! While there are a few more houses, the beach is still quiet and in it's natural state. On this trip we saw dolphin, deer and even a bald eagle! Here we really relax and can show our granddaughter a part of Florida that is for the most part unchanged from our own childhoods. And we've all agreed this is a house we definitely want to come back to! We found the owner very responsive and easy to work with, always a plus! This place is a jewel!

What a Beach House!

This is a house that we would like to keep a secret but that is not fair to the owners. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house has a large kitchen, open to eating and living areas which gives you ample room to socialize. There are stools at the kitchen counter plus the dining table nearby and a large table on the screen porch and a picnic table on the deck. The bedrooms are a comfortable size and from the master bedroom bed you can see the beach and water! The home is very nicely furnished, clean and well-maintained. Excellent cross ventilation if you do not desire AC, has WIFI, DVD player, cable, washer/dryer and very easy access to one of the prettiest beaches in the US. Excellent retail outlets for seafood nearby. Owner were very easy accommodating.

Charming house on the beach

This was a very clean, well- decorated beach house. We have stayed in so many beach houses which were crammed full of "beachy" decor to the point that it wasn't restful to be there. We loved the furnishings in this house and were amazed at how well-stocked it was, not with odds and ends but with quality items. The screened porch was beautifully furnished too. The pier was not finished while we were there but would love to go back and use it. Owner was very nice to work with. We would definitely recommend this rental.

We have finally found our favorite beach house!

I write this as I sit out on the beach, enjoying the sound of our grandson's giggles. This house is so close to the beach, it's an easy walk down for playtime!

I cannot say enough about the beauty and quality of this home. It was obvious from the moment we walked in, this is not your average rental home.

The furnishing are perfect. Beachy, but not cheesy. :-)

The owners we very easy to work with and answered any questions we had.

Hoping to visit this house again in the future.

Wonderful Vacation!

My family and I recently stayed at the White Pelican and it was just what we were looking for. The house has been well cared for and was stocked with plenty of dishes and things you need in the kitchen. We had plenty of room for everyone. The beach had very few people and was perfect for our small children. Early in the mornings you could see dolphins from the deck! The deck and screened in porch is where we spent most of our time. The owners are very nice and made planning our trip easy!

Sunday to Sunday rentals preferred (exceptions considered). Alligator Point rentals are rare and usually fully book. Last year we were unable to accommodate many request as we were fully booked during most of the peak season. In order to allow more people to enjoy the beach we love, we recently decreased our minimum stay from 7 days to 3 days. We will still give priority to week long rentals but in order to allow rentals during weeks we will only be here a few days, we will accept partial week rentals within 30 days of any rental date if it isn't already booked.
