About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-18)

Enjoy magnificent views from the huge deck of our hilltop home at the base of the Pine Valley Mountains, while enjoying one of several outdoor fire pits. Dark skies make wonderful stargazing from the comfort of the hot tub or with a telescope from the deck. No ordinary vacation rental, ours is a 50 ACRE RANCH with tons of activities and amenities. Fish in our PRIVATE FISHING POND stocked with trout and bass. ATV trail ride right from the ranch into the Bumblebee Mountains with hundreds of miles of roads and trails through juniper, pine and aspen forests. Our barn boasts more than just livestock, although there are plenty of animals, it has a pool table, foosball, ping pong, air hockey and other games. The kids love the animals; fallow deer, sheep, goats, horses, cows, pea foul, chickens, geese, ducks, rabbits and more. Finally enjoy a game of horseshoes or Frisbee golf in the pasture or enjoy the shade of the cottonwoods at the picnic area by the stream. **WE ONLY RENT TO ONE GROUP AT A TIME, so in essence this will be your own personal ranch for the duration of your stay.

The home itself is a semi-rustic cowboy themed getaway with three bedrooms, three baths, and hide-a-beds, with floor space for more. Dining sits 16 between the dining room table and bars. RV’s are welcome. 2 wheel drive Accessible.

In addition to the many activities on the property the attractions within 1 HOUR from the property are vast and include:

The world famous Tony award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival

Tuacahn Amphitheatre

Zion National Park

Kolob State Park and Snow Canyon State Park

Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park

Brian Head Ski Resort

Quail Creek and Sand Hollow Reservoirs (Boating & Fishing)

Of course southern Utah is world famous for its desert landscapes and outdoor activities including hiking, biking, rock crawling, climbing, hunting, fishing, shopping, dining, and only 1 hour and 15 minutes to Mesquite, Nevada for gambling and nightlife.

Keep in mind that this is a semi-rustic working farm, where animals and adventure abound. If you are looking for something unique and a little off the beaten path, this is definitely for you. Also, beware that the nearest store is the gas station 5 minutes from the farm. We are situated in New Harmony, Utah. Nestled between the Pine Valley Wilderness and Bumblebee Mountain about 1/2 way between Cedar City and St. George 5 miles west of I-15. The weather is mild and comparable to Cedar City which is only 25 minutes north. St. George is a little further at 40 minutes south.

Harmony Haven is an excellent choice for vacations, family reunions, weddings, company parties, and more. In addition to nightly rentals we offer wedding and event packages, please call for details.

Fishing at our private stocked pond is free for catch-and-release and only $5 per fish kept (limit 2 per guest) on the Honor System. We supply several fishing rods and some tackle but you are welcome to bring your own. We do not provide ATV’s or horseback riding.

About Jan Prisbrey

We love the outdoors and the beauty and many activities of Southern Utah's diverse desert to mountain landscapes. Harmony Haven is our life’s dream and we love our little ranch and reside here year round. We care for the animals and maintain the property all the while enjoying all of the activities available to our guests. The idea to first share our ranch came when a local organization arranged for a young man with leukemia to fulfill his lifelong dream of wild turkey hunting which we arranged for him and his family; then came a couple of wedding ceremonies and family reunions with the Kolob Fingers in the background and soon it evolved in to a full time vacation/event property. Our children are all grown, though they and our grandchildren are here as often as possible, so the two of us were able to move quite comfortably into the small bunk house where we enjoy our ranch from a somewhat less elevated vantage. We appreciate your consideration of our rental and are sure that you will enjoy your stay as so many guests before you. -Jan and Kendall

Jan Prisbrey purchased this cabin in 2001

Why Jan Prisbrey chose Utah

Although we enjoy the occassional vacation to big cities, we are small town people who love Utah's outdoors. We decided to purchase this property because it is centrally located between two cities, albeit relatively small cities, that have everything we could want from dining, movies, golf, shopping and more. As far as we are concerned though, we have the rare privilege of coming home to peaceful mountain views with wildlife and farm animals in our pastures and ATV's and fishing from our front door.

What makes this cabin unique

There is a private fishing pond on the property stocked with bass and trout and the fishing is free and does not require a license. It is catch and release. You can choose to keep fish at $5 a fish. You can ride ATV's right from the ranch a couple of miles and into the mountains. We are surrounded by some of the most scenic state and national parks in the country and have the advantage of being close to St. George with all of the activities it has to offer without the summer heat.

Our pond is stocked with Rainbow Trout and also has Largemouth Bass, Bluegill and Salamanders. Catch and release fishing is encouraged and we have several fishing poles and some tackle available for your use in the Barn. You are welcome to keep two Rainbow Trout per guest for only $5 each kept or killed. This is on your honor, we make no money on the fish themselves the cost is simply so that we can replace any lost trout for future guests.

Treasure Found & Appreciated!

  • 5 of 5

I share the same sentiment as one person mentioned in the previous comment...I don't wanna write this review just to keep it more of a secret for us only! But I feel like Harmony Haven really deserves to be appreciated by as many as possible, like a great piece of treasure displayed in a museum for people to experience and admire it!

Our group just had one of the most amazing weekend! We were 6 couples from Vegas, wanting to do a little getaway for the weekend. As one of my friend said, "The weather sucked but we had an amazing time nonetheless!" It was rainy and cold but we had enough things in and around the cabin so we never felt like we were "stuck" at all despite not being able to go do a long hike in Zion/Bryce Canyon. The cabin was very charming. It's the rustic, country-vibe, homey and so relaxing. The view of the snow capped mountains all around and the open fields were just what our city-slickers needed to feel "closer" to the nature. The fire-pit on the deck was many of our favorite spot. Dipping in the jacuzzi on a rainy, near-freezing temperature was most of the guy's highlight. The party barn was extraordinary. We loved hanging out around the animals, playing fooseball, pingpong, air-hockey and pool but the best part was the Barn-Zumba. One of our friend is a Zumba instructor so we decided to work off some of calories by doing some Zumba. She took it "easy" on us but we're still sore !I don't think many people can say they did

Barn-Zumba! :D Maybe going on a hike on the property after Zumba wasn't the best idea but the view on the top of the hill was quite magnificent! The hike was really fun and not too long but not too short. The best part was that we didn't have to drive anywhere for it!

Jan made sure all of our concerns and needs were met...before and during the stay. She always responded promptly and so very accommodating. Even tho she lives on the property, she and her husband gave us the "space" and the freedom to truly enjoy our stay comfortably. Wish we had the chance to meet her in person tho so we can thank her in person. We will make it a point to meet them and thank them on our next trip...we'll be back! ;)

P.S. - Harmony Haven will forever be our special place since I proposed and got engaged to my soulmate here!!!

Our family of five had a spectacular time at this wonderful property. 50 acres! Our favorite activities were fishing in the onsite pond and stargazing at night from the huge deck. We also enjoyed the party barn, hot tub, fire pit, and trampoline, and of course, all the animals. We took day trips to Kolob Canyon and the main section of ZIon. I hope we have a chance to return some day! Our hosts were terrific, too!

Ice Fishing Trip - Success

  • 5 of 5

The location is just perfect for any type of weather and the property is in excellent condition. The owners even installed a new spa just before our stay. We had 11 guys for an ice fishing trip and the house had plenty of room to accommodate. The VHS collection is top notch. We had so much fun on the deck and in the house we never even made it to the party barn! This will be an annual event for sure.

Absolutely fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

Our family just spent a week enjoying this amazing property. The view is breathtaking, so sitting on the deck day or night is thoroughly inspiring. There are many animals in the barn area to feed and pet, wild deer and big horn sheep grazing in the meadow just below the deck every evening, horses in the field, fish to catch in the pond, and more. My two grand daughters were so excited to each catch a fish for the first time. There is a lovely play area beyond the meadow with tree houses, a volleyball/croquet/soccer/badminton grassy area, a quality trampoline, tire swing, and a play gym set. We spent the last evening cooking out in the fire pit and playing with the kids. There is also a party room in the barn with a theater, and various game tables. Oh, and the jacuzzi on the deck is awesome too! The house is comfy and well equipped. The owners, Jan and Kendall, are so accommodating. They have covered every detail to make your stay as nice as it can be, basically offering up their entire 50 acre ranch for their guests' pleasure. Zion and Bryce Canyons are not far away, and we managed a day trip to each. We needed to factor in time to just enjoy this unique property. We have rented homes over the last 10+ years, and we all agreed that this was by far the best. Thank you Jan and Kendall for the opportunity to make many special memories with my kids and grandkids. I do believe we will be back!

This ranch and home makes for the perfect getaway for those of us who want a mix of vacation with space. The creek among the mature trees was my favorite place to sit and relax in God's nature. The open style barn was also a great place to play plenty of games. Perfect for a large or small family trip especially with the kids and having access to see some very tame farm animals. This place has the best of all worlds. House was large and comfortable and has a cabin look on the inside. Would be great to see some updated carpet and couches by the next time we stay. Enjoy!
