We had a wonderful stay! This is our fifth year for the six of us to vacation together and all of us agree the house was perfect.
The golfing, the sights and the shopping was fabulous. We found that the home was well located for all the activities we love.
We would love to return and feel Sanctuary Vacation Rentals will be where we go to when looking for other places to visit.
9 of us enjoyed a 3 night stay at Villa Escondido. The house is lovely and so spacious with a sun room off the living room. The location is absolutely splendid-walked the walking/bike path to the aquarium/Cannery Row, and drove a few short minutes to downtown Pacific Grove and the butterfly preserve/lighthouse. Some issues with the wi-fi cutting in and out, but otherwise everything was perfect.
Really enjoyed our week stay at Villa Escondido! We had 8 adults and 2 children and found the facilities and supplies wonderful in the house. Very convenient to the coast and Monterey. Really all we could have hoped for! Really enjoyed our time here!
Top rental house -- everything is beautifully appointed. and furnished Very thoughtful accessories. Close to the beach. Sleeps 12 very comfortably. Quite clean.
The location of this beautiful house was wonderful and contributed to how much we enjoyed our trip to Pacific Grove - we were in easy walking distance to the Monterey aquarium and cannery row, as well as a nice path by the shoreline where we saw seals and sea otters. Parking was easy as well, as there was a garage and plenty of street parking.
The house itself was lovely with a lot of character - the lawn was perfect for my toddler to enjoy, as was the back patio. The kitchen was large had all of the appliances and accoutrements you could ask for. The wifi and cell service were very spotty, however, for both Verizon and AT&T which made it difficult for the members in our party who had to be connected for work. There was a landline provided for local calls. The rooms in the house were spacious, and there were lots of places to gather. The bedrooms were all a really good size, and all of the rooms were very clean and well updated. The management service did a great job preparing for our arrival with a guest book containing plenty of recommendations for what to do in the area and providing free spa passes and wine and cheese on arrival.
Overall, we really enjoyed this picturesque house and the convenience which this location afforded.
We rented the Villa Escondido based on reviews and the photos on the website, and were very happy with our choice. We had all our adult children and our young grandchildren, ages 9 months - 5 years, a total of 7 adults and 3 children. The location of the home, close to the water and the aquarium, could not have been better for us.
Upon entering the home, immediately to the right is a spacious dining room with a wide low counter, handy for food service. Beyond that was the large living room, where the television was located, and an alcove with a glass table and four chairs. To the immediate left was the large kitchen, with a small table that seated four. We were pleased to see that there was an abundance of silverware, plates, and glasses - enough that one didn’t have to wash them between meals.
Behind the kitchen is a queen bedded room and a bath in the hallway, and the staircase upstairs. There was also a small gathering room straight ahead, with a sleeper sofa and doors to close it off from the living room and hall.
Upstairs was fabulous! A huge master bedroom and bath, walk-in closet, chaise lounge for reading, and a wonderful, wide window seat. The queen bedded room was light and bright. The final bedroom had a queen bed under the window, a trundle, and a twin - our 5 and 3 year old grandchildren chatted with each other on the trundle before falling asleep.
But the favorite space of everyone in the family was the little, low alcove at the top of the stairs. I thought the children would like it the most (and they did), but even the adults gravitated towards the cozy space to watch TV or read.
We will absolutely return (and hope that it will be available!) and highly recommend this beautiful home. What a wonderful place to create memories. Thank you to the owners and SVR for a great time.
Villa Escondido was an excellent choice for our family reunion. The location and accommodations were "excellent" as advertised, the weather was better than expected and our time together was unforgettable. The house was large enough that everyone could find their spot and we never felt crowded. The front yard was perfect for hide and seek, kickball and tag and the walks along the beach were a great way to get the day started. We were able to walk to restaurants, stores and local sites. Master suite was especially nice and it was the first time I can say I wasn't ready to get back home to my own bed! Very comfortable!
