We had a great week at the house. Bob could not have been more accommodating in making sure our stay went well. Went out of his way to provide tips and suggestions on the area. The house is well set up for a family with game room downstairs and plenty of room. Its tucked in the woods although near the pond though we were there for skiing so can't comment on that. Down the street from Mt. Abrams, and 20 min from Sunday River. We will plan to return next season.
I concur with other reviewers. Bob was a pleasure to deal with -prompt flexible friendly. He went the extra mile when he discovered a beloved teddy lost behind a bed and promptly sent it to our home! Gladness and relieved hugs ensued.
More practically the house was clean comfortable and well provisioned and furnished. Beds comfortable, grill on the deck worked great.
The lake was lovely, about a three minute car ride from the house, with a sandy beach which sloped gradually into the water. Perfect for kids, water crystal clear, and during our mid August stay we had the beach all to ourselves.
Our grandsons interest in minerals and gems makes this area perfect for "rock hounding". Check out rock museum in bethel. Great hiking for all levels close by. Bethel just a few minutes away.
This house was just what we wanted - all the mod cons combined with a gentle experience of rural Maine. Not cookie cutter condo
Loved the place. I went up for 4 days with 8 of my buddies for some snowboarding at Sunday River. Plenty of space, clean, comfortable, set back in the woods. Closest neighbor is probably 100 yards away. I will definitely be coming back. Thanks for the great stay, Bob
If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable place to enjoy the beauty of Maine, then you should definitely consider this house for your stay. Tucked away on a private road and surrounded by forest, you get the perfect amount of seclusion without being too far from supermarkets and dining. The house itself was very clean and well maintained, and Bob the owner made sure we had just about everything we needed for our stay. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, and a private bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. For those who enjoy the outdoors, there's plenty of hiking, as well as a short drive to skiing/zip lining (depending on the season). The association lake offers stunning views, and we enjoyed canoeing and swimming during our time there. Overall we had a great time on our Maine adventure, and Bob couldn't have been more helpful every step of the way. I highly recommend this property, and would definitely stay there again.
House was perfect. Clean. Roomy. Full of all of the right amenities. Owner is super easy to deal with. Would definitely rent again!
This house was perfect for my friends and I to relax in and retreat after a long day of skiing at Sunday River. It's tucked away just the right amount where you don't see or hear neighbors but not too far away either. The place was really clean and comfortably fit and slept all 7 of us (you could easily sleep 3 more).
Bob was an amazing host and made sure we had everything we needed in order to have a great time. He really wants you to enjoy your time there. We look forward to going back.
Quiet location on private association road; association beach on South Pond 1 mile away, Mt Abrams 3 miles, Bethel center 8.5 miles, Sunday River 11 miles, Grafton Notch 20 miles, Mt Washington 40 miles. Skiing, hiking, mountain biking, road cycling, canoeing / kayaking all close by.
