Welcome to our historic, modernized 1000 sq. ft. Biltmore Loft with a gourmet kitchen and electric fireplace on a bustling corner, smack-dab in the heartbeat of Downtown with some of the best restaurants, galleries, music venues, theaters, and shops just steps from your door (our Cancellation Policy is at the end of this Overview). How about your own private street entrance with 39 (39 Biltmore Ave) artistically embedded in the sculptured metal gate with a Keypad keyless door access - easy and safe - sleeps 2-4 comfortably (small additional fee for over 2 people)! A new 400+ Asheville City Parking Garage is right across the side street; Pack Square Park is on the top of the block; Mast General Store is 1/2 block; the Fine Arts Theater is across the street; the nationally regarded music venue, the Orange Peel, is 1 block; and the organic French Broad Co-op grocer is 1 block yonder. Our well insulated building has 16 inch brick walls, high ceilings, and high-end Kolby double-paned windows. We are smack in the middle of downtown so some street noise will be heard - this is downtown. If you choose, though, you may turn on our Sleep Sound machine and hear waterfalls, nature sounds and the like while you sleep. But we've heard only a few comments about the occasional noise. If you don't want to hear any street noises but only the muffled 'character sounds' of some walking on the old Heartwood pine floors above during business hours, then consider our 39 Biltmore Studio discussed below.

You'll be enamored with the earthy feel of the historic brick and heartwood pine in this Manhattan Style Loft (open bedroom design + separate area with Queen sized sofa bed). You'll find all the luxurious trappings including: high speed 12 mb download, wireless DSL internet connection; flat screen HDTV with Netflix movies and TV shows; wireless audio dock for the i-phone, i-pod, i-pad and music streaming with smart phones - 4S and earlier; 3-D Blu Ray Disc Player with a small library of movies; comfortable living room and bedroom suites and Queen sized pull-out Sofa Bed (small additional fee for over 2 people), both with gel memory foam mattresses & pillow top; stainless steel appliances; and granite kitchen counters.

CANCELLATION POLICY

In order to cancel the reservation, the request must be tendered by the Tenant to Landlord in writing by Email, text, fax, or postal mail. If the cancellation is tendered by a party other than the person who made the reservation, then adequate information must be provided to convince Landlord that said cancellation request is valid. In the event of cancellation of part or all of the reservation, a pro-rata refund to Tenant will be issued, less a 10% cancellation fee of rent paid or a minimum $75 fee along with any other fees that may be reasonably considered, provided that Landlord has a firm commitment from another Tenant for that particular rental period. Landlord is not responsible for any Security Deposit Insurance (SDI) fee that was paid.

In the event full payment is not RECEIVED at least 20 days prior to arrival, then this Agreement will be considered cancelled at the option of the Landlord; Landlord will begin the process of re-renting the premises, and the provisions in the prior paragraph will then apply, unless subsequent arrangements have been made between the parties hereto.

About Bernie Byrne

Sandy and Bernie Byrne are Iowa born via Coral Gables/Miami FL. Bernie grew up on a farm in northwest Iowa and Sandy in Iowa City, the home of the University of Iowa (Hawkeyes). Sandy has authored several books and has traveled the world lecturing & teaching Ultrasound of the Eye. She feels so fortunate to have helped so many people with unique eye problems. We are overjoyed to be in the Asheville area for 18 years now and have worked diligently to develop a true Green, Organic, and Sustainable community just 25 minutes north of Asheville called Mountain Meadows on Crooked Creek. Just recently we converted our Biltmore Loft in Downtown Asheville to a vacation rental. We want to use it often too so we loaded it up with the most comfortable and convenient furnishings and electronics to go along with all of the exciting energies in Downtown Asheville. Excellent health in all physical, mental, and spiritual ways has been our positive passion for a long time and we feel so privileged to enjoy our kids, Cherie, Nicole & Donnie along with our grand daughters Amanda, Maddie, & Tabitha. Why Bernie Byrne chose Asheville

Downtown was not yet hip when we decided to buy a building in Asheville in the year 1999. We thought, hey, wouldn't it be a creative, FUN time and investment to renovate an old building and be able to have a small apartment where we could stay sometimes? Though our farm was only 20 minutes north, we felt this downtown option would really be the lap of luxury (it is)! We were fortunate to find an old, 2 story corner building with an art studio and gallery on the main floor, an apartment above, and a dilapidated basement. There were dozens of coats of paint on both the brick walls and the old Heartwood Pine floors; the frontage was a 1940's aluminum; and the owners were relectant to sell. After friendly negotiations, and paying much more than we really thought it was worth (does that sound familiar?), we went to work redesigning and putting together a construction crew. This 18 inch brick walled, ugly and decrepit dinosaur circa 1885 building is transformed and now on the National Historic Register on a gem of a corner surrounded by thriving restaurants, shops, galleries, coffee houses, a parking garage, and the new a-loft Hotel (part of the international Starwood Hotel system). We feel so fortunate to be part of a bustling downtown that still retains its historic character and charm!

What makes this condo unique

We've said it all before and we'll say it again - you'll just LOVE being Downtown right in the middle of it all with kind and caring folks all around and exciting things all about! The character and simplicity of Heartwood Pine floors, high ceilings and brick walls, all enconsced in a 1000 SF Loft with tall windows and skylights.... is awesome. Next door you'll visit the Double Decker Coffee & Dessert BUS; view the Fine Arts Theatre across the street where you will see artsy new independent movies; just a block away enjoy The Orange Peel, considered by Rolling Stone Magazine to be one of the best music venues in the nation; organic minded bodies will resonate with the French Broad Co-op 1 block south and the Farmer's Market down the street on Wednesday afternoon plus the City Market a few blocks away on Saturday mornings, in season; take a slow walk in the delightfully designed Pack Square Park up the street with its grassy areas and trees, water features, and its leisurely promenade - great for sitting, musing, and people watching; how about Broadway quality shows at Pack Square in the Diana Wortham Theatre just 1 block up the way?; a plethora of natural 'farm to table' restaurants are tantalizing; the original craft brewery in Asheville, Highland Brewery, was born in the basement environs of Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria right across the street; the Drum Circle, our primal beat, is our go-to on Friday nights - could we be so lucky?

Great place to stay in the Heart of Asheville

Bernie and Sandy have the loft furnished perfectly. Spacious and comfortable for my wife and I. Great restaurants right out the door and small breweries near by plus great boutique shopping and art. This is our first time of spending time downtown. What a great city Asheville is. 39 Biltmore sure beat a hotel. We look forward to returning again soon. Thanks for a great stay !!

The Biltmore Loft was fantastic!

My daughter and I spent 2 nights at the Loft in July 2016 and really enjoyed it! The location can't be beat - so many attractions just steps away! The Loft was well appointed and very comfortable - especially appreciated all of the closet space!!

The entry gate/door layout made getting in and out (especially with luggage) a bit challenging and the noise level (especially on Friday night) was significant - but that's the price you pay for such a terrific location.

Bernie was very helpful and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend the Loft (or Studio)!!

Owner's Response: Ashley...nice having you and your daughter with us. Yes, the entry gate/door layout can be a bit inconvenient (if the gate is closed upon entry) as the city required us to put the gate as in in-swing rather than an out-swing because the out-swing of the gate may inadvertently hit someone walking on the sidewalk. In order to correct that deficiency, though, we explain prominently under ENTRY in every one of our WELCOME notes that the gate should be left open when inside the Loft so the inconvenience doesn't happen. Otherwise it is just simply opening the door and walking up and opening the door and walking out. You may have noticed that the black iron gate is marked by a local metal artist (Stebo) and the 39 address is carved into the length of the gate. To allay the occasional outside weekend noise we have a Sound Sleep machine available by the bed to create various sounds that allow going to sleep a pleasant process, whether there happens to be a bit of noise outside or not. AMAZINGLY PERFECT!

39 Biltmore Loft was more 'perfect' than we could have EVER imagined! Generally, when we rent places to stay while traveling, we have NO CHOICE but to immediately go to the grocer's for the essentials (toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish detergent etc). Which sometimes is a chore when you've just driven 9 hrs & unpacked! That was NOT the case with 39 Biltmore Loft :-) Upon arrival we were thrilled to enter and find that we hit the lottery when we rented this beautiful loft! From the layout, linens, furnishings, appliances & decor, it was (on a scale of 1-10) a '20'! After unpacking, we found we didn't have to go to the store for even '1' essential. It was ALL there! We travel with our own shampoo/bodywash etc., but wouldn't have needed even that, IT was also provided! I would recommend The Loft to anyone who wants to have all the luxuries/comforts of home & be dead center of the 'middle of EVERYTHING' downtown has to offer! Hats off to Bernie & Sandy!

Perfect in Every Way

Can't say enough good stuff. This was our first trip to Asheville and we couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay. The loft is lovely and roomy enough for 4 people (with the pull out couch). It's centrally located and practically walking distance to everything. Can't beat the double-decker coffee bus next door nor the shops, restaurants and bars right there. Bernie and Sandy have made the loft a home-away-from-home and we'll definitely stay there again. Oh, AND, the parking lot connected to the aloft hotel right across the street was convenient and cheap ($10/day!!!!).

Visiting Asheville? You must stay at 39 Biltmore Loft!

If you like a downtown vibe and being in the middle of the energy of Asheville, there is no better choice than 39 Biltmore. The best restaurants are steps away and cool shops are everywhere. And if you like homey but hip surroundings, you will revel in the decor and aesthetics of the loft itself. The loft is immaculate, comfortable, and quite beautiful. Just as the pictures illustrate. But the best part of staying at 39 Biltmore is the caring and prompt personal attention of owners Bernie and Sandy. Their knowledge of local dining and guidance in helping me choose the best restaurant experiences for me were spot on. I quickly developed my own downtown hangout where I met new Asheville friends who I have already been in touch with. Thank you, Bernie and Sandy. You are amazing hosts and I can't wait to return!

Everything We Were Looking for and More

My wife and I recently spent a long weekend at this beautiful loft. After reading all of the previous reviews, we had high expectations but those expectations were exceeded in every way. What a perfect loft in the best location of a wonderful town! All weekend we were spoiled for choice with fantastic meals and great breweries, all within a few blocks. When we arrived, we parked our car in the garage across the street and didn’t use it again until we left 3 days later.

The owners could not have been more hospitable or welcoming. Prior to arrival, they provided us with great local knowledge on their favorite restaurants and other useful tips about the surrounding area. From buying a few groceries at the co-op down the street to grabbing coffees in the morning just downstairs at Double D’s, we truly felt like we lived there and everyone else were the tourists. We hope to return often and can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Asheville. Thanks Bernie and Sandy!
