Located in the heart of New Orleans in the very central, desirable and especially safe City Park Triangle neighborhood and decorated by one of the city's most creative interior designers, this house is full of surprises and features 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. One room has a king bed and the other two have queen beds. All rooms have flatscreen tvs with Netflix included. If you have any questions about booking, you can write back or call me (preferably before 7PM central time) at 504-457-8028. Thanks!
Update: Sorry for the lack of exterior pictures, they are coming soon. I like to think the reviews speak for themselves, but I promise though that it's just as charming as the inside:)
About the place: The main entrance to City Park/ Museum of Art is only 2 blocks away, the Canal Street Car is 5 blocks away, the fairgrounds a 10 minute walk and the French Quarter is only 7 minutes away by car. The house has wireless internet, an open and full kitchen, a charming porch where you can enjoy breakfast/ watching neighbors walk their dogs in a neighborhood which probably has the nation's highest per capita concentration of pet owners!
The house is in a quiet residential area and parties are not permitted at this location, nor are outside guests without owner approval. I know you'll have a great stay here and in case you were wondering - yes, that is a giant metal pelican eating a fish that you see in the background in the hallway!
Thank you for looking at my profile! I've become something of a vacation rental veteran now with a few year's experience hosting guests from around the world under my belt. There are always a few exceptions, but overall it has been a truly wonderful experience, one that's allowed me meet some great people and provide an excellent vacation for the many friends and families who have come to stay in this great city.
About me: as an avid traveler myself, I am keenly aware of some of the difficulties of getting a nice place that is as advertised, in a good location, with a host who is dependable and who can help you answer many of the questions involved in trip planning. I can share a lot of my travel experiences as well as my expertise on this great city I grew up in, and as such I have plenty to share if interested. Some of my interests include reading, art, health, cooking and as mentioned, meeting new people.
For a living, I work in real estate but I have done a little of everything from medical interpreting and painting to landscaping and interior design. This all being said, if you have any questions at all about me, about my place or about the great city I live in, please don't hesitate to contact me! I can be reached via messaging or you can call me (preferably before 7PM central time) at 504-457-8028. I'll look forward to hearing from you!
Mike purchased this house in 2011
Fish Wall, Spacious Kitchen, Laundry Room, 3 beds/ 1.5 baths, great area 2 blocks from City Park, Family-Friendly, CLOSE TO STREET CAR, and most attractions in New Orleans
This home couldn't have been better. It was comfortably furnished with everything we needed. Lots of information provided to get us started on our stay! Walking distance to City Park and the Trolley stop so we could get anywhere we chose. Loved all the funky decor and great NOLA charm. Although we never got to meet Mike, he made it all very easy! Will definitely stay at this home if we return.
The house was very nice all the convenience of home. Loved the location. Lots of great restaurants and beautiful parks around the area. Just minutes from Burbon Street. The only thing we would have liked was a patio and Grill . But we would book again for sure!!
The house was everything it was advertised to be. We loved our stay and would gladly book again
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in City Park Rest Haven in New Orleans! You're just a short drive away from all that NOLA has to offer, as well as being within a short walk to the beautiful City Park! The house was spacious enough for all six of us to not feel crowed! The beds were very comfortable and street parking was no problem! I'd recommend this property to anyone!
Everything I read about this vacation rental proved to be true! Location was perfect for all of our needs as we spent time in City Park, had street parking available, streetcar accessibility as well as coffee shops and grocery stores, all within close proximity.
Driving was easy using main city streets, whether to the Quarter, Audubon Park & Zoo or the airport.
BEST of all however, from someone who has done numerous rentals in the past, is the owner, Mike's, responsiveness to all inquiries. Both before we decided on this rental, and once there, he always responded to email and/or phone messages promptly. He was extremely accommodating and did his best to take care of our needs.
The house itself is large and spacious with three bedrooms, laundry, and anything needed to prepare meals and enjoy eating together in a pleasant dining room.
The front porch was lovely as a place to sit, drink your coffee and watch the world go by.
In all, this is a place I would return to with my family in the future! Thank you, Mike!
My husband and I (along with our daughters and their spouses) stayed in this house so we can attend a family Christmas party in Metairie. We all live out of town so this was much easier to book this house (than staying in hotel rooms) and much more fun. The house had everything we needed and will stay there again when the situation arises.
