A nice, soothing retreat

  • 5 of 5

Shaun was very good in communication, Nikki C's Deli across the river ( in view from Cabin) has fantastic food. After Labor Day tho be sure to call ahead the Deli before your stay and order the Clambake for two, outstanding food, that way he has the food they're from Market! Passionate Italian cook, I also recommend getting his lobster rolls.

As far as the place, perfect for a couple or a couple with small children, would get cramped with 3 adults. The views are phenomenal, the place is private. Loaded with Chipmunks and I heard an owl early in the morning, river sound calming! Very nice, bring your own Groceries and bedding and you're set.... firepit down bottom to left, perfect for roasting marshmallows, smores, hot dogs...

Very nice

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time my wife and I stayed in this cabin, and we really enjoyed it. You do need to bring your own bedding and towels, but the other necessities are there. It is nice and secluded and there is a nice fire pit down by the water. We enjoyed visiting Grey Towers 1/2 hour away in Milford. I would recommend this cabin to any couple who is looking for some time to just get away and relax. Thanks Shaun!

As advertised, just what we were looking for, great experience.

  • 5 of 5

We had a very enjoyable stay at this comfortable cabin, which is situated off the main road that runs a good length of the upper Delaware River. It's on a private road with maybe a dozen other homes, so there's no traffic. It's right on the Delaware river, so of course there's a great view and you've got plenty of privacy.

The pros: It's in a woody, private riverfront location, the cabin is a good size and has all the needed amenities.

The cons: Not all that many. The train tracks are maybe 20 feet away from the front of the cabin so you'll occasionally hear a train rumble through, and on the opposite side of the river you've got steady vehicular traffic so it's not really buried in seclusion in the middle of the woods, but it's close.

As others have suggested, the bedroom in the master bedroom can easily accommodate a larger bed, so why not spend a few bucks to accommodate your paying guests, many of whom state the bed as being the only negative?

The steps down to the river are rather long and arduous but that's what it's going to take to get down to the river, you can't change the location of the house or the river obviously but they could use some work. They're not all the same width, so when you're walking you need to watch where you're going. In my area that would be a code violation and for good reason. All steps should be the same to avoid surprises. At the very bottom you need to step off the last step and onto one or two rocks which can be tricky if you're carrying things or at night when it's hard to see. Lighting would certainly help.

Otherwise, it was great, the cabin was laid out efficiently, the fireman's pole is neat, and it was a very comfortable stay for us. We'll probably do it again soon.

Peace & Quiet

  • 4 of 5

This was the perfect little place for us to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. All the basic necessities and a world away from all the internet activity we constantly face daily. It was so peaceful and we had great weather. The deck is great, as is the view. If you enjoy bird watching, this is the place to do it. The cabin has lots of storage and a beautiful dining table with bench seating. It's a very cute cabin. We like to cook and barbeque and the stove/oven worked great. However, the outdoor grill didn't appear to be maintained, so we passed on that. Bring your own seasonings, if you want more then salt & pepper. Also, as mentioned by others, the bed is a double, and it sinks in the middle. We stayed for a week, so a bit uncomfortable, but for a weekend it would have been fine, or as suggested by another renter, bring an air mattress. This is the only reason I'm giving a 4 star rating, otherwise we would have rated this a 5. Shaun was wonderful in his communications and very quick in getting back to us when we had questions prior to our stay. We definitely plan on coming back in the near future.

Anxious to stay again

  • 4 of 5

Highly recommend the cabin for a peaceful, relaxing, no fuss getaway. Very cute, warm and charming cabin that overlooks the river. Just 59 steps and the river is right there. Anxious to stay in the summer and love that there isn't any cell phone/internet service. When you are done relaxing there is a full kitchen with everything you need to make a complete homemade meal. The only concern was the mattress was very soft which can be an issue if you have back issues. Would recommend taking your own air mattress. Will absolutely rent again and can't wait for the summertime. Shaun was very quick to answer any questions and we thank you so much.
