This charming beach cottage located south of the highway is on a sandy lane a short walk to one of the finest beaches on the East Coast! Whether relaxing in the privacy of the backyard, biking the lanes, or walking, every leisurely pastime is within your reach. For the more active, the swimming and surfing are ideal. Want better surf? Travel down the street to seek the challenge of world reknown surfer's beach Ditch Plains. Golfing? Clamming? Kayaking? Hiking? They are all within easy reach. The house itself is the ideal setting for family and friends. Three french doors flow from the spacious living room to the outdoor pergola covered deck. And the deck flows to the brick patio! The yard is overflowing with flowering hygrangea, herbs, and towering trees designed to provide a serene setting. By August, the tomatoes should be ready for picking and good eating! The separate dining room was once an artist's studio and is separated from the house by a short breezeway!
Amagansett is not only a long way away from Virginia, but it's also a world away from where my other home in Virginia Beach! From the first moment I saw 22 Maidstone Dr, Amagansett, I was in love with this charming cottage. It took me back to my childhood summers spent in a little town called Duxbury, MA. It was a simple life of going barefoot, riding your bike to the beach, clamming, picnicking, walking the beach, and divine dinners out on the deck. Does it get better than that? Not for me or my husband. Happily, our children agree. They stay with us bringing their children and building new memories for all of us. The house is so well suited for everyone. Our preference for pure pleasure is the outdoor shower. It gives one a sense of being out in the 'wild'. The back yard and oversized side yard allow plenty of room for kids and adults alike. Live outdoors. Just enjoy.
Need to get away from everyone? Take off to town to explore, shop, or just window shop! It's all fun. Take in a yoga class at Mandala's on the green in Amagansett. While you're at it, ride your bike there for a complete workout. You'll love yourself for it. Love music? Take in a concert at the famous world reknown Stephen's Talkhouse! So much to do. So little time. Welcome to my little world of peace, beauty, and kindness.

The Dunes...that's one name for this family oriented scenic neighborhood. It's welcoming. From the moment you arrive, it's easy to feel you've already settled in with most everything at your fingertips...a well equipped kitchen, outdoor grill, dining table, lounging chaises, etc. This house has managed to retain a relaxed feeling one that welcomes everyone. Please note that this is a monthly rental only. It is not available on a weekly basis.
22 Maidstone Dr has the distinction of being one of the few remaining 'Sheffer' designed and built cottages. Built in the 60's this neighborhood of differing home sizes and styles was initially intended to attract teachers to the area! The hope was to provide affordable housing. (Obviously, not so true today!) It has become a neighborhood for families of all generations. There is nothing more exciting than welcoming your children and grandchildren to enjoy this beautiful space with you. But! When my husband and I have to opportunity to be by ourselves, it's pretty special. The coziness of this cottage just embraces you.
