I built the home myself starting in 1999 when I retired, and finished it in 2002. With great attention to detail, I feel that a superior quality home was the result. It has always been my dream to have a home near the Tetons and the fishing grounds I love. We (my wife and I), have spent many wonderful summer and fall months here. We hope you will love and enjoy our place as much as we do.
Dennis purchased this house in 2002
Getting up in the morning, turning on the gas fireplace to take the chill off (and add a little ambiance), preparing coffee and watching the morning news. Then I go outside and sit on the front porch, finishing my coffee and enjoying the quiet, drinking in nature and planning my day.
Our family including our kids (ages 8, 7 and 6) stayed in the wonderful house for 10 days at the beginning of the summer holidays. The house is huge, spacious, clean and so comfortable that we didn't really want to explore the rest of Wyoming! It has everything you need in a vacation rental and more. We used the hot tub quite a lot which is located in the back of the house in a covered patio away from the mosquitos. Having tons of laundry with the kids, having the washer and dryer right next to the kitchen on the main floor was very convenient for us. It was cool in June so we used the fireplace on the main floor a lot too. The property was huge which was so much fun for the kids to explore in fact, they made a good friend, a chocolate brown lab which they named "Teton" that they would play with every morning and some evenings.
It was also within walking distance to Heart Six Ranch with a variety of activities including horse riding, river floats and within walking distance Buffalo Valley Cafe.
I would highly recommend this place. Lots of room. We could have invited another couple of families and still be very comfortable.
This home was simply the best! First off, the home was beautiful, clean, spacious, and well-appointed. Though the photos on this website do a good job of showing the rooms, somehow it all adds up to more than the sum of the parts, probably due to the how well the spaces flow together. Secondly, the location was wonderfully scenic, yet very close to Grand Teton Natl Park and not too far from Yellowstone (head N) and Jackson (head S).
Our family loved horseback riding at the nearby Heart Six ranch, relaxing in the hot tub morning and/or night, and generally feeling very pampered. The friendly neighbor dog was a big hit with our youngest child. A well-stocked pantry filled in a few holes in our meals, and the Frisbee golf was a nice outdoor activity. The week went by too quickly!
This home was a perfect location for our trip to Grand Teton NP and Yellowstone NP. The area is quiet and peaceful. The home is very clean, comfortable, and cozy. The location worked out very well for our day trips to yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Jackson. Grand Teton and Jackson are close enough for half day trips. Yellowstone is a full day trip, but we were able to see everything we wanted to see on our trips to yellowstone.
Our kids loved sharing the bunk bedroom downstairs. All three of them had a lot of fun playing in there during our downtime.
We would definitely visit this home again on future trips to this area!
We stayed a week this summer (2011) and it was absolutely perfect. The cabin is top-notch and our families are pretty picky about these kinds of things. The area is great - very close to Teton and not far off from Yellowstone. The Buffalo Creek Cafe down the street was really fun for our families to visit. Our kids loved everything - from the bunk beds to the hot tub to the most friendly chocolate lab who lives nearby and would play with them. Awesome! My only suggestion would be to bring a few camping chairs if you have them. The dining room seats six and if you have a bigger party, it might help to have a few extra chairs. You can also use those chairs out on the back screened-in porch. The owner and his agent were very friendly and easy to work with. They really care about this property and it shows. The property is also for sale - wish I had an extra $1 million around to buy it!
This home is immaculate!! There is more than enough room for everyone. (We had 11 in our group). We had everything we could have possibly needed and then some. The owner & the caretaker were wonderful. They made sure everything was perfect. They offered detailed info about any of the attractions that we were interested in, they provided a very good map that would save us driving time and information about restaurants, stores, fishing, hiking, you name it and we knew about it thanks to them. Midweek the caretaker even came in and cleaned up for us. Wildlife was all around us, Moose, Antelope, Bison, Elk & Bears. They also provided us with plenty of bug spray and bear spray. (We never needed the bear spray). This is one of the most beautiful places that we've been and we will definetly be back. We did not have one complaint the entire time we were there. You will NOT be disappointed!
We could not have found a more excellent place for our family vacation. The pictures and description do not do this property justice! Would recommend to anyone wanting a great cabin in a beautiful location close to Yellowstone and Grand Teton.
