About this property

Point Bolin Guesthouse with Expansive Water Views

Serene Pacific Northwest retreat overlooking Agate Passage. Separate guest quarters in beautiful home with private entrance. Home sits atop the Point Bolin Bluff with endless views and everchanging scenery.

Enjoy watching eagles, fish, scan the water’s surface for seals and our resident orcas, observe boats pass and seaplanes soar with majestic Mount Rainier in the background on clear days. Just up the road from popular Kiana Lodge, approximately a mile and a half to Clearwater Casino, ten-minute drive to historic downtown Poulsbo, called the Leavenworth of the West.

One bedroom plus great flex space. Experience some of your best sleep in the luxurious king bed. Roomy living area, small workspace with additional queen bed. Newly remodeled bathroom and kitchenette. Perfect for a short stay to explore the peninsula or head over to Seattle on the 35-minute ferry ride.

Visit the nearby Suquamish Museum and learn about the rich history of the native peoples, and Chief Sealth (also known as Chief Seattle), the leader of the Suquamish and Duwamish Tribes. Spend the afternoon wine tasting in nearby Bainbridge Island or visit the Japanese American Exclusion Memorial. Hiking and biking around at Port Gamble Heritage Trails or Stottlemeyer Mountain Biking and Adventure Trails.
Finish your day of exploration by the cozy firepit taking in the beautiful sunset.

BOOKING REQUIREMENT
We will not approve a booking unless you add a personal note stating the reason of your stay. Once the booking is approved, guests will receive a Welcome Guide via email 3 days before checking in with address and other instructions. The access code to the keyless entry will be emailed the day before. Make sure to look for VRBO emails in your Inbox or Spam folder.

PROPERTY AND ACCESSIBILITY
Please keep in mind that our guest entrance is located down a semi-steep driveway and several steps down with no actual railing making it not suitable for people with mobility issues.

PARKING
The property can only accommodate one car per stay. Our street is rural thus not very well lit at night; something to keep in mind when planning your time of arrival on the first day.

CLARIFICATION ON AMENITIES
The TV does not have cable but is connected to the internet so you can use your own Netflix, Amazon, etc... subscription to log in. There is no washer and dryer in the guesthouse; however, the nearest laundromat is located 6 miles away. The kitchenette is not fully stocked but guests will find the basics as well as a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and Nespresso machine to prepare simple breakfasts or light meals. Therefore, the kitchenette is not suitable for longer stays. There is no outdoor BBQ nor access to a hot tub. Even though we are a waterfront property, there is no beach access from the top of our bluff.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
The guesthouse is on a septic tank system, therefore make sure to follow instructions posted in the kitchen and bathroom to avoid issues. Furthermore, the guesthouse has a maximum occupancy of 4 people at all times; no guests beyond max occupancy allowed during the stay. We also ask that our guests do not wear outside shoes in the guesthouse. Finally, we live right upstairs and are available for questions or concerns during your stay.

Perfection:)
Everything my kids and I expected were far exceeded by out anticipations. What a wonderful location and views; the guest house was so well decorated and had everything we would ever need in a VRBO. The price was so fair and we loved the communication with our hosts. Great JOB!

Beautiful place, great accommodations!
We loved our visit! Truly among the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. Exquisite views of Puget Sound. Felt like a home away from home. Everything felt perfect for our needs. The weather was cold and when we arrived it was so warm, cozy and welcoming inside. Very comfortable bed and sofa. Well stocked kitchenette with supplies for making tea and coffee. The place felt very clean, aesthetically designed and well cared for. Karina made herself available whenever we had a need while being simultaneously unobtrusive. We hope to return again, perhaps for a longer visit.

Relaxing getaway
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. Took some beautiful hikes during the day, and returned to this oasis late in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the beautiful view and cozy and welcoming home. Thank you, Karina and Nicolas, for being thoughtful hosts. We look forward to another visit!

Beautiful property and views!
Lovely property, lovely location, Karina is lovely and kind. Property was as advertised, best for a shorter stay (long weekend) due to tiny freezer, microwave only. Weekend stay eating out all meals would give 5 stars!

Great location — Beautiful scenery!!!
My husband and I were attending a wedding at the Kiana Lodge and I found this gem! Venue was 3 minutes away, which was the #1 selling point for us. It was also beautifully decorated and with so much detail! I got a lot of inspiration for our own home. The view was stunning, would love to stay there in the summer!

About the host

Hosted by Karina DUCHASTEL

Host profile image
Bonjour! We are Karina and Nicolas Duchastel and we hope that we get the pleasure to host you in our guesthouse! While we both grew up in Québec, Canada, we have lived in the Pacific Northwest since 2004. We are both software engineers by training and have worked all around the region. In our free time, we love traveling to Seattle on the ferry, enjoying good food and good wine, and spending time with our family and friends by the waters of the Puget Sound. We hope you come visit us in Suquamish and we are so excited to meet you! We both speak French and English as well as some Spanish.

Why they chose this property

After spending years in the suburbs raising our kids, we moved to the Kitsap Peninsula as empty nesters in 2021 seeking some peace and quiet. We fell in love with the island lifestyle, whether it means spending time by the waterfront or renting a boat to take out on the Puget Sound. There is SO much to explore around Suquamish and we are always learning about new, fun places to share with our guests!

What makes this property unique

You will not find a more scenic view of the Puget Sound on the peninsula—both the guest bedroom and living room feature sights on the water where you can catch all kinds of wildlife enjoying the waves. You might even catch a glimpse of Mt. Rainier on clear days! Make sure to stick around for sunset—no matter how many times we see it, we never get sick of the view.
