Overview

About the property

This 3 Bedroom/1 Full Bath Cottage Is Great For Small Family Vacations

This cottage is right on the lake, on a very quiet, peaceful road. It is a 4 day minimum rental. The property is great for swimming right off the dock, fishing, sunning, boating, grilling on the upper deck in the afternoon and evening, kayaking, quiet reading and family fun time. The views are amazing! See the photo I took of the lake during a beautiful sunset. As for the price,.... Why is this property higher priced than then most others? Several reasons. First, the swimming is better on this part of the lake then almost all other areas, unless you like mud and muck; second, the quiet is better here then those rentals right on Route 30; third, the accessibility from here is optimal to dining, gas, pharmacy, shopping, Castleton University, the medical clinic, golf, etc.... All literally within 2-3 minutes; and let's face it,..... The west side of the lake is just to darn far out of the way taking 15-20 minutes from the Route 4 junction,...and fourth, the east side has better views pure and simple. The cottage is perfect for a husband, wife, and two kids. Master bedroom looks out over the lake for splendid morning wake up views. Guest room directly across the hall. There is a bunk room in the back of the upstairs for kids with friends (a set of bunks and double bed futon). Pets are considered at a rate of 150$ weekly per pet; and with two price is 250$ for both, but two dog maximum. There are four kayaks and one canoe which are for rental, by the half day, day, and week. Half day is 20$, full day - 40$ and by the week 140$.

About Peter

I own the property next to this and the previous owners to sell to someone who they knew would take care of their home.

Peter purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Peter chose Vermont

Why this property? Well,... it it on the east side of the lake which makes it much more accessible to the highway, Rutland and shopping, restaurants, and colleges. To get to the west side of the lake it takes another 20-25 minutes drive. It also has fairly deep water with much less millfoil (seaweed) then other areas, making the swimming much better. I also love sunsets,... much more then sunrises,... see the picture I took... You too, can get this site if you're lucky. Lastly, it is directly across from the boat launch area on the other side of the lake so persons can put their boats in and come right home across the lake.

What makes this cottage unique

I have a special love of this home due to the fondness I had for the other owners, and a special person in my life.

Notes:
There is no air conditioning in this cottage but we provide some fans. This is usually suitable. There is no fitness or spa area. There are no video games at Cedar Bluff. The telephone and cable TV have been disconnected as persons usually use their cellphones to make calls and laptop computers and 'Skype' or 'Netflix/Hulu' etc for this form of calls, news, and entertainment. But please remember this cottage is meant to be very conducive to families and building better communication between people,... not providing diversions for kids or parents to shut off from the outside world, or from their loved ones. The idea is to spend time outside together enjoying the beauty of the lake, water sports, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, tubing etc., grilling on the deck, nights around the warm campfire. There is no Dishwasher, nor laundry facilities presently.
