Located on Ocean Boulevard, this condominium is just across the street from the ocean with access to the only private fishing pier on the Isle of Palms.

Very comfortable, smoke-free, and recently updated, family friendly condominium located on the first floor of the 'A' building. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed with a private bath. There is a queen and a twin bed in the second bedroom. A sleeper sofa in the living room provides additional sleeping if needed. Enjoy a family game of scrabble or Yahtzee, cozy up with a book or embark on a jigsaw puzzle. Use ours or bring your own.

Located in the heart of Isle of Palms, you are just steps from the beach and within walking distance to great restaurants (some with live music), local shopping, and activities. Additional shopping just over the IOP connector – 5 minutes away. Play at some of the area's finest golf courses. Enjoy the wide beaches, tidal pools, swimming in the surf, searching for star fish and sand dollars, or a little game of low tide bocce-ball.

About Dawn and Randy Queen

We are Randy and Dawn Queen from Charlotte NC. We have been married over 20 years and have 3 children. We discovered the IOP when we relocated to Charlotte from California over 15 years ago. I grew up in the Va Beach area and knew we needed a beach a little closer to us. I fell in love on my first trip to the island. Many family memories have been made on our many trips.

We purchased our first condo on the IOP over 10 years ago and decided to purchase another property in the same Oceanside Villas complex.

Why Dawn and Randy Queen chose Charleston Area

This is our second property on the Isle of Palms. We purchased our first property in 2005 in this same community. We love the location of the Oceanside Villas and love sharing our love of the beach. The Isle of Palms enjoys a very long beach season and a lovely off season with mild winter temps.

What makes this condo unique

We are owner managers and do not use a property management service. This allows us to serve our guests better. We are in the property often making sure everything is working and kept in good condition. We personally stay in this property with our family often and want to be comfortable here too.

We love being right in the heart of Isle of Palms. This is a great walking community with restaurants, shops and other vendors just a short walk away. The Isle of Palms fishing pier is private and coded for exclusive use of the Oceanside Villas and Sea Cabins.

Fantastic Location!

Perfect location! Condo it is not listed as oceanfront, but it is! You can stay in your swimsuit, walk few steps and you are on the beach. No need to dress up. Private acces to the fishing pier. If you like fishing there is no better spot. Private swimming pool in the sun area. Also, you are steps away from the stores and restaurants. Basically, no car needed. Kitchen well equipped, you'll find everything what you need and more. More than enough towels and sheets. Don't bring any sand toys for your kids, because there is plenty in a storage room. Strong WiFi for teenagers. Great and easy communication with the owner. One little issue...a cleaning service is not doing their five star job. This condo is very well updated, and the cleaning service is taking down the owner's effort. But don't get me wrong. Bathroom and kitchen is clean and well sanitized, and towels and sheets are clean. We were there with the toddler and teenager, and it was the best destination that we went to, because it has everything.

Very Comfortable

We were 3 ladies 65+ and we had a great time! Kitchen had all we needed, area was safe and walking distance to food, spirits, beach & fishing. Condo was clean.

The condo was way below our expectations. It was in need of a serious cleaning. The floors were sticky(if in bare feet), windows were in desperate need of cleaning, drywall hanging from the bathroom ceiling, sliding glass door lock broken, only secured by a wood pole, furniture on its last leg, front door lock difficult to work, very poor soundproofing between first and second floor, master bed so noisy getting in and out of it that we apologized for moving to each other. Oh and one last thing, this is far from being Oceanside!!!!! it was a quarter of a mile walk to the beech and our view was a water tower and the parking lot. I will be sure to inform my friends and relatives to stay AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Owner's Response: I was very disappointed to read the review above. I am sorry our condo did not meet our recent guest's expectations. A quick phone call to me or our property liaison upon their arrival or anytime during their stay siting any of the issues especially a housekeeping issue would have been handled very promptly. Our other current and past reviews and photos do reflect the true condition of our property as advertised. All photos are quite current (or actually more improvements have been done since the last posting of photos - brand new headboards in bedroom 2 additional decor etc). Oceanside does not in anyway mean Oceanfront property nor does any of our listing or communication from us try to lead you to believe it is. Oceanside Villas is the name of our complex as is oceanside a universal rental term used to let prospective renters know that there is only one beach road that separates (not additional roads or hwys) from an Oceanfront property/beach. Our condo is not advertised nor priced as a five star resort complex but is lovely for families or couples wanting to stay quite close to the beach, (less than 5 easy minute walk) with 2 bedrooms and have access to a full kitchen/family room with sleeping for up to 6 guests. We are aware the lock on the sliding door is not working properly at this time and will require the entire slider door to be replaced as the lock is built into the actual door. However the dowel in the door is there even when the lock is working and actually provides a better security than an easily tampered with sliding door lock. Each unit is individually owned and we are a first floor unit which provides benefits to our guests unable to climb the stairs or with small children but depending on who is upstairs as in any multi unit complex noise can be an issue as even in a hotel room. Our furniture is replaced as needed, updated often and is very suitable for our beach crowd with microfiber material on the sofa and chair to clean up easily from sunscreen and sand. We are heading down for our semi - annual deep cleaning this weekend and will address each issue this guests mentioned. I made a phone call to our local mattress store regarding the "noise" the guest referenced since all our beds were purchased recently. They have graciously agreed to replace the faulty box springs for each bed! We then took that allowance and upgraded to a more durable and expensive box spring. That should take care of any bed concerns.

Good value

All the ammenities for a great beach vacation are at easy walking distance. The remodelling steps that were taken so far, are very nicely done. The appartement is more spacious than the pictures suggest. A few steps are neccesary to finalise the remodeling (plumming, cookware and front door), which will put this place in a different price range immedeately.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the positive feedback on the remodel. We purchased this unit just three years ago and have continued to make improvements each season. This unit has certainly enjoyed a very busy rental season making it difficult to get into for any length of time. We do try to keep on top of all aspects of our rentals - we purchased new cookware last season after a guest comment. So I was surprised to see the comment about cookware. We purchased several new heavy stainless steel pots and a large steamer pot (non stick seems to wear harder in that environment - our vacationers will sometimes just grab a fork or knife instead of the plastic utensils provided and can damage the surface of that cookware style). We will certainly look at our cookware again in a few weeks when we will visit next and make adjustments if/as needed. I love to cook on vacation too and have always tried to keep a well stocked kitchen for our guests.

Great experience with this rental!

This was a great rental experience. The description and info online was very detailed and informative, and proved to be accurate. Decor was lovely; Kitchen area was updated and everything there worked well, good amount of space for the 5 of us (2 parents, 2 teenagers and a younger child). The location was great, close to grocery, beach, and beach stores/restaurants. Mount Pleasant has many good restaurants and shopping also. Perhaps for future upgrades, better mattresses with sofa bed and master bed would be helpful as well having the patio door lock fixed (it shuts but lock doesn't seem to work; there is a broom pole provided to keep the door from being opened from the outside). But, overall, a terrific condo and very informative and responsive owners. We would definitely stay here again!

Owner's Response: We are glad all was enjoyed. Unfortunately, sofa bed and nice mattress are not usually together. We did swap out the twin bed found in most of the other units for a Queen bed to limit the amount of sleep sofa use - beds for 5 in our units opposed to 4 in most. That is certainly something to consider for future sofa purchase. We could also include a foam pad for sofa bed use in the meantime. A good mattress is something we do consider for both of our rentals. All were replaced when we purchased this unit just 3 years ago. We do understand some like firm and some like soft beds. We will continue to replace our mattresses as needed or on a regular schedule. We want to be comfortable when we stay there as well!

We operate very much like a vacation rental - weekly season is very much in demand on the IOP from March to October - and less like a nightly rate hotel. We offer as a vacation rental the convenience of being close to the beach (and all it offers), having 2 bedrooms/2 baths and a full kitchen.
