About the property

1 bedroom 2 bath oceanfront condo

Location, location, location! Renovated baths & kitchen with air-conditioning in bedroom! This is the best beachfront unit with spectacular views of the ocean, literally a stone's throw from your lanai. What better way to spend your vacation in Hawaii but by having a Mai Tai on your private lanai staring & mesmerized at the ocean/beach, watching the sunset! Awesome 3rd floor (walk-up) unit has spectacular views of famous North Shore surf breaks (Haleiwa - home of the Triple Crown Surf Tournament as well as Bay Watch). Good to know your buildings - this unit is in the beachfront building (B for Beach) of Haleiwa Surf Condos facing the ocean. Great for that romantic get-away or a fun family vacation. Lots to see & do! Haleiwa Surf Condominium is conveniently located near Historic Haleiwa Town for shopping and restaurants. With a full kitchen, you can have simple to gourmet meals in the condo or delicious dine-out meals just down the road. When to come to Hawaii? You ask…well each season is wonderful and the temperature doesn’t change much more than 10 degrees from winter to summer, it’s typically in the 80’s daily. Our tropical tradewinds cool us in the summer and the tropical breeze off of the ocean warms us in the winter.

Summer - the ocean on the North Shore is calmer in the summer. Although there can be some smaller wave action to surf, it’s typically a great time to snorkel, boat, fish, kayak, SUP and swim. The Haleiwa Boat Harbor is nearby next to Haleiwa Alii Beach Park. Sharks cove is fabulous for snorkeling (a great reef shelf with many colorful fish, coral & turtles).

Winter – the ocean on the North Shore is famous for the BIG WAVES. This is so incredibly spectacular to watch (or surf if you dare). A definite must to see is Pipeline, Sunset & Waimea beaches (can reach up to 25 feet)! And of course can watch right off the lanai, Haleiwa, Avalanche Puaena Pt. & Walls.

Spring – can be end of winter swells or balmy beginning of summer or more than likely a combination of both seasons.

Fall – can be beginning of winter swells or end of summer calm oceans, probably a combination of both seasons.

Fall thru Spring is whale season and Humpbacks can be seen breaching from your lanai. Most seasons the Honu (sea turtles) are swimming in the reef and can be seen popping up their heads or while snorkeling along with an array of beautiful colorful fish. Oh and visiting Monk Seal sunbathing on the beach in front of your condo as well as dolphins spinning by. Truly nature’s wildlife zoo for you viewing pleasure.

Kona Winds – periodically through-out the year there are Kona wind days (humid). But mostly in late Summer to early Fall.

What can I say, this was our second trip to the Haleiwa Surf. The room and the grounds are very nice. If you have to email Robin she responds in a blink. If you want to go somewhere beautiful that is not crowded, try going South along the shore towards Dillingham airfield. Go to the end of the road and take a hike. Try the rotisserie chicken on weekends next to the grocery store.

Fabulous - only wish we had booked longer

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this property. The photos are completely accurate as to the beautiful view. The lanai was oh so comfortable. The unit is quite spacious, clean, and very well equipped for day to day living and outdoor activities. There are ceiling fans in the living room and the bedroom, and a portable fan, to help keep cool at night. We did not experience any noise problems and found the whole property to be quiet and very well kept. There is a nice lawn and a beach to relax on. It is a 3 min drive to main street Haleiwa. Saw some fantastic surfing at Banzai pipeline beach, 15 mins away. Dealing with Robin was a pleasure.

Very comfortable place to stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay in this very comfortable condo. It was clean and nicely furnished with a lot of extra and thoughtful details (books, guide books, menus, movies, well stocked kitchen, soft towels, etc.) Robin was very nice to deal with. The lanai was our favorite place to be and where we spent the majority of our time. The view is very nice with trees and the ocean straight in front of you. The ocean has a calm reef area, and then bigger waves outside of that where we enjoyed watching surfers play. It's a very short walk to be down to the beach to enjoy the sun, or swim. We could see nice sunset colors to the left most evenings. The location is just a short drive to town. It was nice to be away from the hustle of tourist activity once returning to the condo and our comfortable little lanai.

The only other thing I would add is that the full-time residents were sometimes loud in the mornings when it was still quiet time (before 8:00 a.m.) They took over the majority of the bbq area each night (which we didn't use so this didn't bother us) around 5:00 for a few hours and were a lively, social group enjoying each others company before cooking their dinner and returning to their own homes. They was a sense of community among them and they were a friendly group overall as we saw them throughout the week.

The park next door attracts tour vans of snorkelers who come to the reef area to swim and play. People watching is always entertaining and was only annoying on occasion as groups of shrieking kids interrupted our otherwise quiet beach experience. In my opinion you would find people that could annoy you anywhere you stayed, and this only happened occasionally here.

This was an overall wonderful experience and my husband and I would definitely stay here again if we returned to North Shore. Thanks Robin!

Walking by the Waves

  • 4 of 5

Robin's property was a lovely spot to spend our belated honeymoon, 10 min walk to the little surf town of Haleiwa, and perched right on a lovely beach where the gentle waves kiss your feet as you take a stroll in the sand. My wife and I didn't want to leave! Robin's condo had just about everything we could think of, beach chairs and body boards and board games and books... more than enough to keep you entertained in the evenings while listening to the waves outside. We can't wait to come back!

We stayed at this condo for 3+ wonderful weeks. It was just about perfect, nicely updated, clean, and contained everything we could need. We felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. We loved having 2 bathrooms and having the air conditioning in the bedroom. The view from the lanai is incredible and we loved being able to just grab our chairs (provided), towels (also provided) and head barefoot down to the beautiful beach. Trees near the beach provided shade most of the day if one wanted to get out of the sun. The exterior of the property was also very well maintained. Haleiwa is a very special place that still has the feel of old Hawaii. We will definitely return to this unit in Haleiwa Surf. Thanks, Robin!

We loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

The condo was great. Really nice newly remodeled kitchen. it was hot a few nites so we did use the air conditioner and it made such a difference. Our favorite part of the condo was the amazing lanai. We spent most of our time out there reading, relaxing and listening to the waves, feeling the breeze and watching the beautiful ocean just yards away! We frequently saw green turtles surface. We're seniors and we enjoyed the quiet side of Oahu.

Historic Haleiwa Town is self contained with everything from grocer, pharmacy, banks, shaved-ice stands, coffee, art galleries, and great restaurants to even a McD’s if the keiki (kids) are with you. Some must-do’s & favorites are Matsumoto’s Shaved-ice, Haleiwa Joe’s (you can walk to), Jameson’s by the Sea, Kua’aina Burgers (great fries too), Cholo's Mexican, the Shrimp trucks, way too many to name. You can take surfing lessons or rent a board in the many surf shops in Haleiwa as well as buy the cutest bikini in the darling boutiques! Kayak up the river from the boat harbor under picturesque Anahulu bridge. Go on a Shark adventure, fishing tour or boat ride at the Harbor. Visit Waimea Botanical Gardens & learn the hula. Or just sunbathe and take that long stroll on the beach.
