About Sally Howard

I purchased 304 when the owner told me he was going to sell. I'd been visiting Santa Fe for about 3 years and always stayed in 304. It took me seconds to make the decision.

I typically drive to Santa Fe once a year around April/May and spend a month and then either in Sept/Oct or Christmas I'll fly down for a shorter visit. I cannot imagine just visiting once - there is so much to see and do. One of my best times was when I walked from Alameda and St. Francis through neighborhoods and the city taking pictures of Santa Fe 'art'...doors, gates, fences, mailboxes. It's amazing how art permeates Santa Fe. Don't miss the overpasses and retaining walls on Highway 84/285 going North.

I live in Boise, Id, most of the time, and moved in 1970 from St. Louis. It became home the minute I arrived. When I'm asked 'where did you grow up' and standard reply is 'I grew up in Boise and moved there when I was 30'. It's so true! Santa Fe and Boise are oddly similar in weather and convenience. Boise also has a ski area 16 miles away and great outdoor activities. I recommend visiting Boise too.

Why Sally Howard chose New Mexico

It's home, it's comfortable and it's convenient! DeVargas Mall is just across the highway has everything you need - grocery store, Hastings, great Pizza shop, movie theater, dress shops, drug store, excellent restaurants, etc. Taos, Opera and Tesuque are just north.

I've made it 304 home and hope you'll feel the same. If there is something more that you think it needs just let me know.

What makes this condo unique

My favorite thing about 304 is the balcony and the view. I have seen more rainbows from the balcony in Santa Fe then all of the rest of my life combined. The cloud formations that pass over are truly amazing. Oddly, I like the original wood furniture (dining table, coffee table). I'm comfortable putting my feet on the coffee table. I've taken the old dining room chairs and put them on the balcony for extra seating.

Terrific! Relaxing!

Quiet area to stay. Nice folks as neighbors. Easy to walk my dog around the block(s). I rarely heard neighbors so insulation must be great. Safe place to stay. I'll be back! From Albertsons or Sprouts, Plaza is only a 20 minute walk. Decor is so beautiful. Breezy balcony. I loved the birds tweeting in the mornings. Great way to awake! Well stocked condo. Games, movies, cable are available. Take two sets of clothes and go! Thanks!

Owner's Response: Thank you! I think you pretty well covered everything I love about my Santa Fe home. I'd like to be sitting on that balcony right now watching the big puffy clouds roll by. I hope you do come back! Remind me so you'll get the returning traveler discount.

Santa Fe Serenity

  • 5 of 5

What better way to enjoy Santa Fe than eating breakfast on Sally's porch and watching the sun rise over the sleepy mountains? The condo has everything you haven't thought of and more. The people are friendly, the food tasty, and the condo comfy. This was our first visit to New Mexico and, hopefully, not our last! Ron and Jan from Rhode Island.

Owner's Response: I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your first visit to Santa Fe. It truly is a special place with so many wonderful restaurants and interesting attractions. You mentioned one of my favorite things about my condo - the balcony. Sunrise or sunset it always has a wonderful view. I hope you'll come back soon!

Condo had absolutely everything we needed. My friends and I used the condo as a home base for our mtn biking trip to the Santa Fe area. With the 2 twin beds in the 2nd bedroom we were able to accommodate everyone for sleeping arrangements.

Overall I was incredibly impressed with Sally's communication and pride in her condo. If we go back to the area to ride again I will 100% use this condo again.

Beautiful condo, great location!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for our family (4 + a dog) to stay in. It felt more like a home, and not at all like a room in a hotel. It is cozy (the next time I want to stay there in the winter, so I can use the kiva fireplace), the decoration and artwork are very tasteful, and it has all the amenities one needs. The kitchen is well stocked, one could even cook a full meal. The condo is only minutes from the Plaza, and across the highway is the DeVarges mall with grocery stores, cafes and restaurants. The best part for all the dog owners, it has a huge dog park (Frank S. Ortiz Dog Park) within walking distance of the condo. The park has many hiking trails, and enough space for your four legged friend to roam in. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful, well-kept property

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful, well-kept property decorated in the Southwest style. Great space for two couples or a family with kids. Great location! Close to all the main attractions in Santa Fe. Go to the railyard on Saturday morning for an incredible art fair and farmers market. The only negative to the property is the porch is located next to the freeway, so if you spend much time outside there is a freeway noise to contend with, but the place is completely quiet with the windows and door shut.

Owner's Response: It's always a pleasure to know that another traveler has enjoyed my Santa Fe home. You are right about traffic noise, but it's not too bad on the 3rd floor and for me, the view makes up for everything. Thank you for taking the time to do a review. It is helpful to those who are looking for a place to stay in Santa Fe.

Wonderful Visit

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Santa Fe. The condo was absolutely perfect. The location was great. We could walk to the plaza and to our favorite place for breakfast. Clafoutis is a must!!! The condo was extremely clean and well appointed. The balcony had a wonderful view of the mountains and was so nice to have coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. The entire experience was so enjoyable. We will be back to Santa Fe and will be back to this wonderful condo.

Owner's Response: You named almost everything I love about my condo. The location, the view and Clafoutis. I hope you come back soon and maybe in the Fall because it is beautiful when the Aspen start to turn. Thank you!

The beauty of Santa Fe is that all of the amenities and attractions of large cities and rural areas alike are available but all are within 10 to 30 minutes easy drive.
