About Sally Howard

I purchased 304 when the owner told me he was going to sell. I'd been visiting Santa Fe for about 3 years and always stayed in 304. It took me seconds to make the decision.

I typically drive to Santa Fe once a year around April/May and spend a month and then in either Sept/Oct or Christmas I'll fly down for a shorter visit. I cannot imagine just visiting once - there is so much to see and do. One of my best times was when I walked from Alameda and St. Francis through neighborhoods and the city taking pictures of Santa Fe 'art'...doors, gates, fences, mailboxes. It's amazing how art permeates every inch of Santa Fe. Don't miss the overpasses and retaining walls on Highway 84/285 going North.

I live in Boise, Id, most of the time, and moved in 1970 from St. Louis. It became home the minute I arrived. When I'm asked 'where did you grow up' and standard reply is 'I grew up in Boise and moved there when I was 30'. It's so true! Santa Fe and Boise are oddly similar in weather and convenience. Boise also has a ski area 16 miles away and great outdoor activities. I recommend visiting Boise too.

Sally Howard purchased this condo in 1993

Why Sally Howard chose Santa Fe

It's home, it's comfortable and it's convenient! DeVargas Mall is just across the highway has everything you need - grocery store, Hastings, great Pizza shop, movie theater, dress shops, drug store, excellent restaurants, etc. Taos, Opera and Tesuque are just north.

I've made it 304 home and hope you'll feel the same. If there is something more that you think it needs just let me know.

What makes this condo unique

My favorite thing about 304 is the balcony and the view. I have seen more rainbows from the balcony in Santa Fe then all of the rest of my life combined. The cloud formations that pass over are truly amazing. Oddly, I like the original wood furniture (dining table, coffee table). I'm comfortable putting my feet on the coffee table. I've taken the old dining room chairs and put them on the balcony for extra seating.

Wonderful place, clean, close to everything. Couldn't have asked for more!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful place and close to everything. Loved the balcony sat out with friends in the morning for coffee and tea. In the evenings, relaxed with some wine. Comfortable beds and all over very clean. Sally was great regarding check in and out. Discovered a flat tire on our rental car just when we were about to leave. Sally was so helpful and kind. As it was cold that day, she said we could stay in the condo while waiting for the repair even though it was passed check-out and the maid was arriving.

Southwestern Charm at its Best!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from our second trip to Sally's comfortable condo, artfully decorated to create a great sense of place. Sally makes sure guests have everything they need at their fingertips. There's two grocery stores within waking distance--Albertson's and Sprouts and numerous restaurants. You'll never go hungry!

New Mexico's beautiful landscape and architecture --so different than our coastal Rhode Island--provides an exciting area to explore. We love to walk to the Plaza--a mile or so away from the condo. There's plenty of museums, art, restaurants, historic churches, and lots of shops. If you go, don't miss the Navajo jewelry sold from blankets in front of the Palace of the Governor's. The nearby New Mexico State House -- a gem of a building-- houses the governor and the state legislature as well as an impressive collection of New Mexican art on each floor. It's free and open to the public. Taos is about an hour and half away, but worth the trip. If you go, you're sure to enjoy the Taos Pueblo where natives have lived without water or electricity for more than 1,000 years. There also an historic plaza and a nearby view of the Rio Grande for those who don't mind heights.

One thing for sure--The minute you leave Santa Fe and Sally's place, you're going to be "homesick" and want to return.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Three ladies from Colorado relished in the comfort and coziness of this condo! Close to everything (just a mile from the Plaza), this property was clean, well equipped, and perfect for our little troupe. Gorgeous sunshine streaming in every morning, warm evenings out on the deck, and kiva fires in the fireplace at night, we felt very much at home. The nearby shopping mall provided good restaurants, grocery stores (Albertson's and Sprouts), as well as a variety of shops, and was very handy indeed. Sally was a gem, helping us to navigate the upgraded Comcast internet, which then worked beautifully! This property is just as wonderful as it appears and we will be back!

Owner's Response: Thank you! You're the one who deserves the credit for helping me get the internet setup after the upgrade. CenturyLink forgot to mention a few details! It is good to hear you took full advantage of the condo; the kiva, balcony and location to the great little mall nearby. Please do come back soon.
