About Sally Howard

I purchased 304 when the owner told me he was going to sell. I'd been visiting Santa Fe for about 3 years and always stayed in 304. It took me seconds to make the decision.

I typically drive to Santa Fe once a year around April/May and spend a month and then in either Sept/Oct or Christmas I'll fly down for a shorter visit. I cannot imagine just visiting once - there is so much to see and do. One of my best times was when I walked from Alameda and St. Francis through neighborhoods and the city taking pictures of Santa Fe 'art'...doors, gates, fences, mailboxes. It's amazing how art permeates every inch of Santa Fe. Don't miss the overpasses and retaining walls on Highway 84/285 going North.

I live in Boise, Id, most of the time, and moved in 1970 from St. Louis. It became home the minute I arrived. When I'm asked 'where did you grow up' and standard reply is 'I grew up in Boise and moved there when I was 30'. It's so true! Santa Fe and Boise are oddly similar in weather and convenience. Boise also has a ski area 16 miles away and great outdoor activities. I recommend visiting Boise too.

Why Sally Howard chose New Mexico

It's home, it's comfortable and it's convenient! DeVargas Mall is just across the highway has everything you need - grocery store, Hastings, great Pizza shop, movie theater, dress shops, drug store, excellent restaurants, etc. Taos, Opera and Tesuque are just north.

I've made it 304 home and hope you'll feel the same. If there is something more that you think it needs just let me know.

What makes this condo unique

My favorite thing about 304 is the balcony and the view. I have seen more rainbows from the balcony in Santa Fe then all of the rest of my life combined. The cloud formations that pass over are truly amazing. Oddly, I like the original wood furniture (dining table, coffee table). I'm comfortable putting my feet on the coffee table. I've taken the old dining room chairs and put them on the balcony for extra seating.

The beauty of Santa Fe is that all of the amenities and attractions of large cities and rural areas alike are available but all are within 10 to 30 minutes easy drive.

Convenience and style in Santa Fe

  • 4 of 5

The condo was very well equipped - the kitchen had everything we needed and we had dinner there several times. Helpful recommendations were made for nearby points of interest and facilities. The furnishings and decor were in keeping with Santa Fe flair with interesting colors and textures, artwork and objects. It was fresh and clean and a delight to stay there.

Owner's Response: Thank you for mentioning the kitchen. I've tried to make it convenient for visitors to be able to enjoy a home cooked meal. Santa Fe has so many great restaurants but I like to be "home" occasionally.

Lovely, quiet condo, just outside of town center

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I celebrated our birthdays in Santa Fe and loved staying at Sally's condo. It was elegantly furnished, with a real New Mexico flare, including a working kiva fireplace and a third-floor balcony with a view of the city and hills beyond. NB: There was an elevator and ample parking. Everything was clean and comfortable. The best part was, for a very reasonable price, we each got our own lovely bedroom and bathroom. Sally was promptly responsive to our questions, and she provided a long list of local restaurants and activities for us to consider. It's about a mile from the Plaza, but a pleasant walk and easy drive. Also, it's right near the Lodge at Santa Fe, so we were able to take the Sandia Shuttle from the Albuquerque Sunport, then walk 5 minutes. Would definitely stay here again--highly recommended!

Owner's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you mentioned the Sandia Shuttle. It is such a pleasant way to get from ABQ to Santa Fe. I've even had a driver take me to the condo complex. I think what I miss the most when I leave my Sf home is the view. You'll need to come back when it's warm enough to sit on the balcony.

Sally's unit was perfect for our getaway weekend! Walked almost everywhere as it is very close to the square. Very comfortable and quiet. Hope to stay there again!

Owner's Response: Thank you. I hope you do come back - soon! The Plaza seems even closer than the 1.6 miles because there is so much to see on the walk. I'd like to be there right now!!

Beautifully Decorated

  • 5 of 5

Just as described and beautifully decorated. Every detail was thought of and we had everything we needed for our 10 night stay. The Plaza is not a long walk and we enjoyed the central location to area restaurants. Day trips to Los Alamos, Bandolier, and Ghost Ranch.

Owner's Response: I'm happy to know you appreciate my limited decorating skills. Fortunately, I had help from a friend. I do my best to provide a well equipped condo, particularly the kitchen. I hope your trip to Los Alamos took you to the Bradbury Museum. Probably the number one thing praised is the location. I agree!

A Perfect Location!

  • 5 of 5

This condo is in the perfect location for exploring Santa Fe. It's only 1 mile to the Plaza and an easy walk (even with a seven year old!). There are two nice grocery stores only .3 miles away so very convenient for picking up dinner supplies on the way back from exploring the town. Staying here is like being a guest in someone's home. Sally has stocked the condo with everything you need. Kitchen supplies, tons of pots and pans, plenty of towels, and even spices thoughtfully kept in the freezer. The rooms are exactly as pictured - tastefully decorated and so much better than staying in a hotel. We can't wait to return.

Owner's Response: I was in real estate for 35 years so I know about "location". I confess it wasn't the reason I bought the condo. I liked the view and the fact it was on the 3rd floor. I try to keep my Santa Fe home well supplied so everyone will always feel like a guest in my home. Please come back soon - and remind me so you'll get the discount. Thank you for taking the time to do a wonderful review!
