Paradise awaits you at this brand new, charming home that sleeps five comfortably. The Master bedroom has a king size bed and a private bathroom, the second bedroom has a queen size bed and access to a shared bathroom, and the small den has a full size sleeper sofa if needed. All rooms have access to the wrap-around lanai that features ceiling fans, hammocks, dining furniture, lounge chairs and a tiki bar. For your grilling pleasure, there is a full sized gas grill on the lanai.
The house has an open feel, with ceiling fans throughout. It has a modern, fully equipped kitchen, featuring stainless steel appliances, a long center island that can accommodate up to six at the breakfast bar in addition to the dining area.
The living room has a 32” flat screen TV, DVD player, satellite tv, and a nice collection of DVD movies.
Forgot to bring your mask and snorkel? No worries! We have some you can use, because a short walk from the house is the best snorkeling on the Big Island - the Wai ’Opae Tide Pools. The offshore reef protects the tide pools from the sometimes-harsh southeastern shores of Hawaii. As you explore the maze of pools, you will find corals, schools of juvenile fish, moray eels, sea urchins, sea turtles, etc… It is like being in an aquarium! When you come home from the tide pools, there is an outside shower you can use to rinse off.
If you are looking for a romantic getaway, or a family looking to spend quality time together, our home offers something for everyone in paradise.

Just wanted you to know that we have enjoyed your beautiful home. And your cleaning person is great. The whole house was very clean when we arrived.
So thanks again. Dianne
Liza's home is beautiful! We were only able to stay one night but it was very comfortable and clean. Liza was very prompt in responding to all of my questions. I have no complaints about the home but the road along the tide pools is in serious need of repair. I couldn't get far with a jogging stroller. And the mosquitos were out of control. In retrospect I should've expected the mosquitos, but even loaded up with bug spray I left with 20 bites on my legs.
This is our 2nd time to stay at this wonderful property and we had a GREAT TIME again!
Actually got to meet Liza and Tony and they are very nice and helpful, as is Loyd the groundskeeper.
I recommend this property to everyone!!
We've stayed in vacation rental properties in Kapoho several times. This is the first property we would consider renting again. As other reviews have noted, the house is very neat, well equipped and comfortable. It has everything you would want for an enjoyable vacation. We appreciate everything the owner has done to make her guests as comfortable as possible and would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone. Thank you!
Aloha and mahalo for sharing this wonderful property with us! We traveled with 2 children, 8 and 6. We had plenty of space inside the house and outside on the wraparound lanai. Beautiful extremely functional kitchen, 2 large bathrooms with plenty of counter space, comfy beds and a quiet neighborhood, this was exactly what we were looking for and then some. The house is meticulous, has everything you can think of. The weather was beautiful, with plenty of sunshine each day. I loved waking up early each morning and drinking my coffee at the tide pools awaiting the sun rise! At low tide you can walk pretty far in off shore and watch marine life right through the crystal clear waters.(no flip-flops aka slippers please) I found this to be the safest place to snorkel with children. We snorkeled every day at least twice! (we purchased our own snorkel equipment and brought it with us - Seavenger brand worked great for all 4 of us)
The house is very well equipped, some things that come to mind...PLENTY of towels, beach towels, kitchen towels, family size cooler, ice packs, plastic storage container so you can take that fresh Hawaiian fruit with you everywhere you go, blender, ice maker, large sturdy plastic tumblers with tops and straws, collection of movies + Dish network, house phone, portable fans, etc. The neighbors were amazing, everyone was very friendly and Lloyd who takes care of the property and lives in the neighborhood was very helpful and responsive. There was nothing wrong with the house but as we found out later, my 6 year old son, the explorer that he is, moved the yellow lever he found when exploring around the house...turns out he shut down the water! We called Lloyd and he figured out what was wrong pretty quickly.
Pahoa is the closest area for shopping. It is 20 minutes away. Grocery store and the pharmacy there covered our needs.
Our entire experience on the Hilo side and at this wonderful house was exceptional. Mahalo Liza!
As other reviewers have said, house was incredible! It was very clean, well stocked and beautifully updated. We loved the fact that this home/location is about 30-40 mins south of Hilo. We usually stay in Capt. Cook, but decided to spend time exploring the eastern side of Hawaii. We were within walking distance of the Kapoho tidal pools, for snorkeling. We were an hour from Volcano Natl. Park, which was great because we could drive up in the evening to view Kilauea volcano. Also, you're close to the newest lava flow. This is a great house for spending the evenings sitting in the hammocks and visiting with family. We hope to come back to this beautiful location soon.
One word of warning to visitors, if coming through Hilo driving south to Papoha do not do this during rush hour (3ish-6ish). We made the mistake and ended up sitting in traffic for about an hour.
Liza's home south of Hilo was beautiful and just as described in the listing. The kitchen is fully updated and fully stocked with all the basics. Both bathrooms are nice with tiled, walk-in showers and double sinks. The lanai is also great for relaxing - hammocks, chaise loungers, and even a little outdoor dining table.
Unfortunately, our visit was right on the heels of a big storm, so we couldn't really get to the tide pools, as most of the road was completely washed out. However, the tide pools are about two/three blocks away max and I bet they are lovely in the right weather.
Since our reservation was interrupted by a big storm (Hurricane Madeline), I really appreciated Liza's responsiveness and accommodation while we sorted it all out (i.e. should we even brave it? should we modify our reservation? should we cancel it completely?). We ended up staying only two of the three nights and Liza was great about keeping in contact.
The only thing I'd say about this house is that it's a little out of the way. I should've looked at the map more closely; it's about a 30-40 minute drive (south) from downtown Hilo. If you're looking to really get away, spend time at the house and at the tide pools this place is PERFECT! We wanted to spend a bit of time in Hilo/North of Hilo (at Akaka Falls State Park) so we ended up driving quite a bit.
Either way, this house is beautiful and extremely relaxing. The sound of frogs at night really lulled us to sleep. :)
A short walk to the Wai'Opae tide pools, 15 min to the town of Pahoa, 5 min to the thermal ponds, 10 min to boat launch and surf beach, 1 hour to Volcanoes National Park.
