Perfect family getaway
Plenty of room, amazingly clean cove, away from the "world", and quiet. Everything needed was present.
First time in Arkansas!
Great description of place. Definetely clean and rustic. Not super fancy but charming. Older appliances that still worked remarkably well. Being a log cabin, it was darker inside, but that is part of the charm. (but if you like big windows and lots of natural light this is not the place for you). The water levels were very high which made the dock a little harder to get to, but still very nice to have dock access. Enjoyed the kayaks and hammock. The owners were awesome about communication.
Relaxing stay with all the comforts of home, and more.
The property and home was very clean and well maintained. The furnishings and decorations gave the home a real lodge atmosphere. The lake was beautiful, caught lots of fish, The lakefront with dock was great for lunch breaks. The short scenic drive to Eureka Springs is a must do. Overall a great place to stay. We plan on a return visit very soon.
Cabin was lovely. Very clean. Only drawback was we had been told it was a "gentle slope" ftom the cabin to the water. Definitely more than a gentle slope. One member of our group was not able to get down to the water. Other than that, we enjoyed our visit! Beautiful location
So glad you enjoyed your stay. The slope changes depending on the level of the water. When the water is lower than normal there can be more of an incline generally it is a gentle slope.
Wonderful place for a fall getaway!
Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chalet Retreat to visit our son who is a student at the University of Arkansas. Situated at the end of a cove, we had lots of privacy and we were surrounded by wooded beauty and nature. The short walk down to the lake made it easy for everyone to be pursuing their own fun (fishing from the dock, kayaking and canoeing, hiking along the lake, enjoying the fire pit) while all being within sight and earshot of one another. Because the cove was so quiet and private, I felt comfortable letting my children (ages 13-21) out on the boats to explore and fish without worrying about them encountering speed boats or losing their way. And even though it felt remote, we were able to enjoy dinners out every night in Rogers, just a short drive away.
The house itself was very charming and rustic with its wood walls and wood beam ceilings. Although it was a bit dated, it was extremely clean, both inside an out. My teenage daughters absolutely loved the bunkhouse, and it's furnishings and decor were much more charming than in the pictures. Their only complaint was that the DVD player was not connected to the TV so they weren't able to watch the movies they brought with them.
Casey is friendly and very responsive. I would highly recommend this place for a family getaway!
Thank you for the wonderful things said we are very happy you had such a wonderful time.
We are sad to hear about not being able to watch the videos in the bunkhouse. Sometimes the hdmi cable is inadvertently packed up by previous renters and we don't always realize this in time. We would have ran another one out immediately if it would have been brought to our attention, so sorry this happened we know how important movies are to teenagers:)!
Gem on quiet cove of Beaver Lake. Really lovely setting for a getaway.
Spent long weekend here and had wonderful time. We canoed every morning and evening. Deer were running all along the lake edge and the water was beautiful and clear. Cabin was nice and had all the kitchen essentials. Nice restaurants and movie theater in Rogers. Enjoyed Crystal Bridges in Bentonville. Site of Pea Ridge battlefield nearby and nice local golf. Great area and hope to be back. Great place to stay when in the area.
Close to Hobbs State Park, shooting range, Rocky Branch Marina, Historical one room school house, War Eagle Mill. 25 minutes from Crystal Bridges Museum and 90 minutes from Branson, MO
