This property is in a nice family neighborhood near two beautiful Nantucket Sound beaches. Although many prefer to drive to nearby beaches, especially with kids in tow, the house is within walking distance of the beach. The house is slightly south of Rte 28, the main attraction of Cape Cod's non-beach activities, including restaurants, shopping, entertainment, miniature golf, the 'Zoo-quarium', and other attractions. Close to downtown Hyannis and its diverse collection of restaurants, bars, museums, shops, the harbor, fishing charters, the Ferry and the transportation hub of Cape Cod.
My wife and I grew up in Massachusetts and periodically vacationed on Cape Cod as children and young adults. We've always loved the Cape Cod beaches. While our primary home continues to be on Massachusetts' north shore, we purchased our first house on the Cape in 2006 and have progressively spent more time on the cape.
In 2011 we purchased this house (3010967) to handle the 'overflow' of a large family and also to rent to guests. We take our rentals seriously - we want your experience on Cape Cod to be as special as our visits have always been.

We looked at dozens of houses before selecting this house. We chose this house for several reasons. This house has always been owned by a Cape family and treated as a home. It is in a family neighborhood. It is well-constructed and well maintained. The location is exceptional - walking distance for healthy people to two beautiful beaches as well as many restaurants, shops, ice cream stands, etc.
The house is small but efficient. We think it is very cozy. It has three bedrooms that sleep six. The kitchen and living room are large enough for the group to spend time together without feeling totally cramped.
We made many improvements to the house in 2011, mostly cosmetic. We purchased virtually all furnishings, bedding, etc. new. In 2012, at the suggestion of our guests, we added a shed for our guests to store bicycles, chairs, etc.and in 2013 we added central air conditioning.
We have a caretaker who makes sure the house is taken care of when we are not available and performs off-season maintenance. The house is professionally cleaned pre-season, post-season, and weekly in-season. All amenities, appliances, and housewares are checked weekly by the cleaning staff, and problems are brought to our attention. We respond to issues promptly, either in-person or through our caretaker. Most weekend in the Spring and summer we are on the Cape and take an interest to ensure the property remains in top condition for all of our guests!
This house will never be the Ritz-Carlton! It is a cozy house that can accommodate six people comfortably at a reasonable rental rate. It is a great combination of location and property quality.
Everything was ready and clean when we arrived. No problems during the stay. We would like to rent this house again next summer.

Well kept neat clean and a very nice neighborhood.
The house was just as the pictures showed. It had all the needed amenities (the only thing missing was a cork screw) and was very clean. They even provide beach chairs. It is centrally located for easy access to the beach, shopping, activities, and dining. In our case it was perfect, walking distance to a function we were attending. We enjoyed the great deck for dining "el fresco" with large table, chairs and umbrella. We did have one small inconvenience of beeping and the owner was so quick to correct, while not intruding on our space or time. We all had a wonderful stay and look forward to staying again.
House would be good for a family as it has 3 bedrooms and eat-in kitchen. Location is convenient. Owner very accommodating and helped us with internet access. Living room furniture could stand a little cleaning,.
We stayed at this property with another couple and felt completely relaxed from the very beginning of our stay. The property is maintained to the highest standard and stocked with all the items a person would forget to bring with them on vacation; right down to the fully loaded iPod.
The house is located right off of Rte. 28 and near all of the major shopping and eating establishment’s, but one would be hard pressed to hear anything but the sound of crickets at night as we enjoyed our meal that we grilled and ate on the spacious back deck.
The following day we started off with a hearty breakfast at the Pancake man’s restaurant before heading out to Truro Vineyards for some wine tasting. We came back for a late afternoon walk on the gorgeous and picturesque Seagull Beach so that we could work up an appetite for dinner at The Roadhouse Café in Hyannis where the food was superbly prepared. We closed the day by sitting around the kitchen table exchanging stories and playing cards once again taking in the atmosphere of cottage.
The weekend was outstanding but the relaxing accommodations in the laid-back environment truly made the weekend memorable. Kudos to Mike and Rita Sweat for being fine purveyors of Nirvana on the Cape!
We couldn't have been more pleased with this home, it made us feel at home while in the Cape. The owner is very informative, quick to respond and keeps an impeccable home. They have thought of everything - right down to the kitchen scissors and deck of cards. We had a short stay, and our only regret was not spending more time relaxing at the house. The deck is a wonderful entertaining spot, the neighborhood is beautiful and convenient to everything. Can't wait to return!
This lovely cottage is located in a quiet family area within approximately 1 mile of two beautiful Nantucket Sound beaches, Seagull Beach and Englewood Beach. Downtown Hyannis is approximately 10 minutes by automobile.
