Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom + Convertible Bed, 1 bath (sleeps 2-4)

Recently renovated and centrally located downtown overlooking the lively Riverplace esplanade with lots of restaurants and boutiques nearby. We are making our second home available to you for that truly special stay.

The first thing you'll notice in this top floor corner unit is the light filling the rooms from the large East-facing windows. Next, you'll be greeted with a 180 degree view of the river where you can see SIX of Portland's famous bridges through the big windows in the living, dining and bedrooms. Only then will you notice the tasteful, elegant contemporary furnishings and the peaceful, relaxing ambiance. But it's really all about the view.

In the morning, make coffee in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoy it on the balcony overlooking the river or go out to one of the 3 cafes that are less than a block away. In the afternoon, sip a glass of wine on the deck and watch the dragon boats on the river below. Relax in the deep chaise and read a book or just enjoy the view of the bridges and the East Side. In the evening, go to one of the many restaurants, wine bars or pubs that are all within a block or two of your front door. Or just stay in and watch the game on the big screen TV.

Sleeps up to 4 (the couch converts into a surprisingly comfortable queen-sized bed), an open, spacious-feeling 845 sq. ft. with Berber carpets throughout.

One designated secured parking space is included, located in the garage below the unit (additional paid parking is available if you need it in one of the public garages nearby).

The bedroom features a king size bed with high-threadcount sheets and blackout blinds if you choose to sleep in. There is plenty of storage available in the large walk-in closet. The big East-facing windows allow you to sit in bed and look out over the river. There is a second cable TV outlet in the bedroom and another 32" TV if you want it.

The Italian marble full kitchen is equipped with a dinnerware service for 8, a set of pots & pans, toaster, coffee pot, press pot, electric kettle, microwave, fridge, dishwasher & ceramic top stove.

The dining room seats four with its own large window looking up the river, taking in the bridges and East side. The living room has the most impressive view of all.

The bathroom features a spacious shower with two separate shower heads, one at each end. The Italian marble topped vanity is equipped with two sinks and large mirrors.

There are a full-sized washer and dryer in the separate laundry closet.

Restaurants and more are right outside your door with easy access to OHSU, PSU, Keller Auditorium and waterfront parks, all within 5 blocks. Convenient to the Portland Streetcar (3 blocks away).

Children are welcome, but there is a deck and large windows that open fairly wide - use your judgment.

30 day minimum.

Why Paul Henderson chose Downtown

We love Portland. We searched for a year for just the right place for the perfect getaway. Our goal is to offer the nicest limited-term rental experience in the heart of the city (when we aren't staying there ourselves)!

Guestbook comments from the owner

(Guest book comment written by Reba, 11): Thanks Paul & Jenn for letting us stay at the lovely condo. It's very white. The beds were very comfortable and the view was amazing. We also enjoyed the food places you suggested. They were very good.

Thank you again for letting us stay here. Loved watching the dragon boat racers practice and the Portland Spirit at night and the lights of the city were beautiful.

p.s.- beautiful place want to come back again. Love the fluffy robes.

Excellent Apartment- Stunning view

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed for a month here. The apartment had everything we needed throughout our time. The living room window offered a stunning view of the river and a view of Portland's bridges. We enjoyed adventuring in the city and then coming back to cook dinner in the well stocked kitchen. Really enjoyed the convenience of the apartment to the downtown and transportation. The ice cream/breakfast place below the apartment on the riverwalk is a must try!

Healing views and comfortable, efficient dwelling!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this property from March 22- June 3. My husband needed a place to recover from a serious procedure that would put us within easy distance to OHSU. I have to say...I thank myself over and over for choosing this property as it really contributed to his healing and a positive outcome. The views and activity along the waterfront were both soothing and engaging...that included blue herons and a resident osprey who entertained us daily. One of his favorite sights was watching the Hawthorne bridge go up and down for the bigger boats. Because of the proximity to downtown we both got out and walked early on in his recovery, riding the streetcar everywhere. Living temporarily at this location helped us uncover a Portland food scene we never new about...but more importantly the optimum way to reduce the stress of a serious medical recovery. Lovely Portland Condo

  • 5 of 5

It seems that photos of a property often overstate its quality. Not so in this condo's case. The views of the Willamette River and city lights at night are amazing!

My wife and I spent the months of January and February at this condo. A well appointed kitchen was very important to us and this one filled all of our needs. We were also delighted to find that we could easily walk to Safeway, Whole Foods and the PSU Farmers Market to do our grocery shopping.

Parking a car in Portland can be a challenge. So we really appreciated having a safe assigned parking space directly below the condo. But this town is so walker-friendly we were able to leave our car parked through nearly our entire stay.

Lastly, the owners made the whole rental process so easy, with timely email/phone contacts along the way.

This property will be on our short list of place to stay in Portland!

Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

We spent an unforgettable month on the Portland waterfront, taking in all the events and energy that the city provides. Superb location, top floor condo, fantastic views from many angles, balcony, quiet building, great security and convenient protected parking, the AC performed well in July, close to public transportation, 20 minute walk to downtown, and restaurants and happy hours just below. Wonderful. The condo is terrific, clean, and doesn't lack for amenities. Oh yes, ask the owner where to eat in downtown and surrounding Portland, he is an expert and provides a long list of written recommendations. We're sad to leave this very unique and absorbing city but it's back to the heat, stickers, thorns, and things that snap and bite at you.
